It's a thing with discipline and willpower. I have problems in the following areas: cleaning up, filing important documents, eating salty popcorn (yes, really!) and knitting. Oh, and maybe the "I'm-not-completely-out-of-it-because-it's-soon-to-be-Christmas". But more about that later.

First, however, I wish you a wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee two weeks before the first Advent. Yikes, I wonder if anyone here can hardly await it? Possibly!

This Anne Ventzel ...

... she makes it really hard with the knitting discipline! Doesn't she? Haut it but smooth already again such a great sweater out, which triggers in me you one this urge to throw the current project of itself and directly hit the Smilla Sweater.

She has designed the model top down with a pretty cable pattern. The boxy cut ensures that you have to worry zero about any cookie escalations. And why would you. Rather another vanilla croissant, better safe than sorry!

In the kit you'll find a Knitting for Olive combination: Heavy Merino and Soft Silk Mohair. The merino wool provides a certain grip, the silk mohair yarn provides the necessary fluffiness. Hach, I have head cinema. Such a beautiful piece!

Also a combination of the Knitting for Olive yarns you love so much, you'll find them in the kit for the Mia Sweater Mini by Cheryl Mokhtari. I'm telling you: complete potential for escalation on my part. Really the only thing stopping me from saying "come add to basket" here is the fact that baby girl is still a bit too small. But I'm telling you, as soon as she's big enough, this sweater will be posted!

You knit top down in Merino and Soft Silk Mohair. The rib pattern gives the sweater shape and detail. Short rows elevate the neck and raglan increases shape the shoulders. Like it really well? No problem. You can find the knitting kit for large here.

Have you wished

I write again and again that I am also happy about input from you. Because sometimes you become blinded or don't really notice things.

This happened to me with the Drawing Sweater by Tomomi Yoshimoto. It was first suggested to me on Instagram. Then came a message from a customer with the same design. Then it came back into my timeline. And then another message came from another customer. Then I had to take a closer look again. I mean, much more can a fence post soon no longer beckon!

So here for you the most important info about the design: Knitted is top down with raglan stitches. You will find in the pattern both a knitting chart and an explanation of the pattern. Photo and video tutorial offer further assistance. Unfortunately, the Como from LAMANA.

And if I then already discover someone new in the knitwear design realm, I must of course also look at the other designs. And there I'm at Tomomi Yoshimoto smoothly also found. And - phew - I'm really tingling here. The Inaho Scarf is made for winter! If you love cable knits and don't mind the English pattern, please have another look here. Again, you'll find a knitting chart ininstructionsttern and I suspect the pattern will memorize pretty quickly. Again we recommend Como from LAMANA. I just love this yarn, it wears beautifully!

I wonder if these wouldn't make great gifts?

Above you have already guessed it. I am the total Christmas person. But my Christmas obsession also has a service character. Because feasting on gingerbread or baked apple yogurt (yes, there is! Yes, you can eat!) may still seem far away to you: Christmas is not. Especially not if you're going to have knitted goods under the Christmas tree.

Perfectly suited as gifts are yes those projects that are knitted quickly and easily. Because let's not fool ourselves: No matter how hard you try, somehow stress always comes up during Advent. Not consistently hopefully, but those of you who get through the pre-Christmas season completely without lists and pressure, please contact me! So who has a desire for simple, quick projects - here are a few ideas for you:

First of all, I have the Easypeasy Scarf by Paula_m for you. The (free!) tutorial is the complement to the Easypeasy Bandana. You knit (both designs) from one tip to the other. First with increases, then with decreases. You can find the scarf in three variations. Either with Compatible Cashmere from Knitting for Olive (double yarn), Como from LAMANA (single yarn) or Milano and Premia from LAMANA (knitted together). You could also use Cashmere 6/28 from Pascuali. There are many possibilities and you have the free choice!

One ball projects are the best after all

The one-ball designs from Pascuali, for example Hat No. 1 and Cowl No. 1, are very fast. You need one ball each of Maximo (100% Merino), heavy needles and off you go! I ordered two skeins the other day, because I'm testknitting a hat design from Jule. There you can also already look forward to it!

Also with a Pascuali yarn you knit the Jura Cowl from the already above mentioned Cheryl Mokhtari. Here you will find in the kit the Cashmere 6/28. The pure cashmere yarn is of course expensive, but also really very high quality. I'm sure the recipient will be very happy! And if you are looking for an alternative, you know how to reach us (reminder: support@maschenfein.de).

Let's chat another round ...

Marisa had already mentioned it in the Instagramstories: We are currently hard at work planning for you. And it's so much fun! This year, for example, there will again be an advent calendar for you. And at the end of November, in addition to such a cute new product, there's another great promotion waiting for you! New gauge tags are also on the way for you. I was already allowed to take a look at it and am thrilled.

Now you probably also want to know what the other things are about. But the anticipation for it also wants to be used. And in due course you'll find out everything, I promise! Here in the Käffchen, over at Instagram and of course in the newsletter. If you don't get it yet, you can sign up here. On Monday Louisa and I will sit down and plan when we will tell you something - that will be great! And I can already reveal one little thing: There will be a Christmas shawl again. You can give it to yourself or wish it for Christmas and knit it comfortably over the holidays. I want to participate in any case!

Maschenfein knitting round

But you'll have to be patient until then. We'll just pass the time and look at your works, all right?

Kirsten, for example, has knitted the Thea Top by Paula_m from Line by SANDNES. The color of course immediately caught my eye 😉 The wintry counterpart of Como and Premia by LAMANA can be found here. Slipovers or slipovers just always go. Says also our inspiration.

With Silvie the bright slipover from SANDNES has been finished. Here, too, the color is just 👌. There the godchild but will be very happy and yes, Silvie, you should knit the model also for you. You can find the matching kit all here.

Katrin supports a particularly important action. November is also called Movember (moustache + November). The aim is to draw attention to men's health and the importance of preventive examinations. Katrin is auctioning off her Spinel Love by ChrisBerlin from Cumbria by Pascuali and Sensai by ITO. Feel free to stop by and check her out! And don't be surprised if you see more men with moustaches now. This is another way to generate attention and yes, I tolerate it on my husband for this month of the year as well!

But I find this knitted piece much nicer than the Tom Selleck imitations: Sigrun knitted the Clara Cardigan by Paula_m, from two Merino Baby yarns and one Manada yarn, both by Pascuali. I would wear it too!

I hope you were able to take away some ideas again. For you, for Christmas and in general. Let it go well and let the knitting will happen. Some things just have to be. Have a knitting rich weekend!

Ursula

Hello Sophia,
I have subscribed to your newsletter for some time and am always quite expectant of the Saturday coffee 😃diesieses times you have presented the Smilla Sweater and I'm blown away. The is soo beautiful, only I have so my problems with mohair, so my question, what I could take there as a replacement. There are many designs combined with mohair, which is always a bit of a shame for me. Maybe you would have an idea.
Many thanks already
Greetings, Ursula

Sophia

Dear Ursula, thank you for your kind feedback! As a substitute for mohair you can take for example Midnatssol from CaMaRose. From SANDNES there is also recently Alpakka Følgetråd. Feel free to write us an email at "support@maschenfein.de", then Sandra and Jule can help you with the color scheme 🙂 Best regards! Sophia

Claudia

Dear Sophia,
in the Saturday Coffee there were again many great project ideas. Thank you very much!
When I saw the Mia sweater, I was reminded of two great sweaters from Cozyknits: Lounge and Seedy Sweater. It's worth checking them both out if you haven't seen them before.
Have a nice weekend and greetings to Würzburg,
Claudia

Sophia

Dear Claudia, thank you for your nice feedback, it makes me happy when I can inspire you! 🙂 And yes, these are really two beautiful designs from Cozyknits (there is also as a kit with us ;-)) Love and have fun knitting! Sophia

Ines

Thanks for an entertaining Saturday morning . I love your writing style and enjoy being tempted by you to new projects over my cup of tee :).

Melanie

Exactly the same for me! A great style, an author who lives like me in Lower Franconia and so many ideas! At today's Saturday coffee I'm already extremely excited about the Adentskalender and all the other announcements 🤩 But "all of a sudden" then my two children come back to mind and I realize that the time unfortunately once again will not be enough for all these ideas 😭
Have a nice weekend and, dear Sophia and Louisa, do not keep us so long with the new ideas 😉
Greetings, Melanie

Sophia

Hi Melanie! Oh, thank you for your lovely comment! My children also regularly thwart my knitting plans (so quasi always^^). A lot of things are postponed because of that, but for the one or other knitting row it's enough then 🙂 Very dear greetings! Sophia

Sophia

Dear Ines, ah, that makes me happy. Thank you for the praise! Then have fun with knitting and with Maschenfein! Love, Sophia

Christine

Hi! The Inaho Scarf is great, but the sweater underneath is great! Can you tell me where I can find the knitting pattern?

Grit

Good morning to all knitters! I have to admit that I'm actually an absolute summer guy and the fall / winter season often gets to me. But- yes and now comes this BUT- since I am knitting again, I enjoy the long evenings. There are so many beautiful projects that I absolutely still have to knit. And it has actually something of gaaanz much coziness- so on the couch with the almost finished Ibensweater on the lap, which already warms so right now, a candle and a steaming cup of tee.... and then this always inspiring Saturday coffee !!!! Thank you so much for this. I am very happy that I found the Maschenfein- team here, that I landed on Insta through you- and even more inspiration! - that I have met so many always nice and polite people..... I had to get rid of that after this wonderful Saturday ritual.
Please keep it up !
Have a great weekend and enjoy the long evenings with wonderful projects.

Sophia

Dear Grit, thank you for your lovely comment! I'm glad that we can sweeten the dark season. Have fun with knitting and with Maschenfein! Love, Sophia
