Sandnes - Alpakka Følgetråd

Alpakka Følgetråd from Sandnes Yarn is the answer to the question "What can I use instead of a mohair yarn?". The yarn has been specially developed to replace Tynn Silk Mohair without mohair. Finally a solution, for all knitters who cannot tolerate mohair. "Følgetråd" translates as hatchet thread. Alpakka Følgetråd is a very thin alpaca yarn with 400 meters per 50 grams. It is not intended for single-stranded knitting , but possible is of course what the knitter's heart desires!

Responsibility

The wool for Alpakka Følgetråd comes from Peru and Bolivia and is of course mulesing free, as this is not practiced on alpacas anyway.
Sandnes aims to make their sustainable and responsible contribution in the ecological cycle. They are in the process of establishing a fully traceable supply chain. The alpacas and Norwegian sheep are raised freely on uncultivated land, so no deforestation or anything like that is necessary. In addition, green electricity from hydropower is used for production and the water used is then purified again.
