A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee in old freshness quite a lot of this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein.

We start our round today with the current Laine magazine, which is available since yesterday in stores and of course also with us. As always, we have put together a few beautiful, matching knitting kits for you.

My absolute favorite is the sweater on the cover and the wool package of ITO Rakuda and Sensai is such a hoot to knit almost immediately. I mean, just look:

The designer of this sweater is Polish Justyna Lorkowska aka Letesknits and she also wears it herself on Instagram.

Our wool package of ITO Rakuda and Sensai is such a dreamy combination. I had them on my needles for this cardigan "Jonna" ages ago and Sandra is currently knitting an ITO design whose pattern we are preparing for you. Uh, well, she's doing it. And she does it as thoroughly as we know her. You can look forward to a real treasure. If you've been reading this site for a really long time, you've already seen the sweater she has on her needles. As soon as the tutorial is ready, we will show it to you! The color that Sandra has on the needles is called Mustard and would also be for the Laine title sweater the Oberhammer.

I also fell terribly in love with this Rai Rai sweater by Finnish knitwear designer Leeni Hoimela. Probably it's the colors, maybe just these fine stripes that "trigger" me so. I just like it a lot. You could knit the Rai Rai sweater with a gauge of 24 sts in stockinette stitch from Tove by Sandnes Yarn or but (very fine) from Cashmere 6/28. Cozy and Oho!

If you're really into patterns, you'll enjoy the Abeilles Cardigan by Helene Arnesen, but here we're really struggling with a yarn recommendation because the specs are a bit opaque. It could fit Sandnes Alpakka Silke. Anyway, you can find the pattern here on Ravelry.

The very latest Amirisu magazine is now also available online for download and I think it's worth it. Three parts I like right away and also ANKESTRiCK and Katrin Schneider are both represented:

Momoko is the design of ANKESTRiCK, knitted from ITO Shio + Sensai + Kinu. You can read the details of the tutorial on Ravelry.

Tilea is Katrin's design and you can read the details of this tutorial here on Ravelry. You could also knit this cardigan with Tove from Sandnes Yarn.

I'm so darn simple knitted.... shows me something orange and pink and it's about me: Really, really, really great I think for summer this top, also from Amirisu. It's called Lucy and you can read the details about the pattern here. You can knit it perfectly from Nepal, in the colors kumquat and pink. This would be such a really nice summer top.

Summer top weather here is currently not yet so reliable. In the morning I really like to wear my current favorite piece, the Sunday Sweater by Petiteknit from Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Yarn. It came off the needles really quickly. But since some people prefer to wear cardigans and the combination of Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair totally blew us away, we also repackaged the Sunday Cardigan into a wool package:

The tutorial for the Sunday Cardigan requires a slightly different gauge. But that doesn't matter, because Tynn Silk Mohair is also available in heavier. Then it's called Silk Mohair. You can find the new wool package for the Sunday Cardigan made of Silk Mohair and Duo in the store now. Goes even faster than the sweater.

My fingers are itching. Currently, I have another project from Tanja on the needles, the Kim Cardigan (your pattern will follow shortly and then there is also the wool package here). I realize: I am the worst test knitter you can imagine, because: in everyday life just too little knitting time and therefore v-i-e-l z-u l-a-n-g-s-a-m. I'm sorry, Tanja. Fortunately, there were enough test knitters and I am also over the trickiest parts. Still, I want to needle off "Kim" before something new lands on the needles. But as we all know, this is one of the most beautiful knitting phases, when you knit upside down for hours. What's next on the needles? Well, it could be the Sunday Cardigan (pink or blue). But it could also be this one (attention classic alert):

Photos: © Rililie

One of the absolute classics from Rililie. The BlueSand Cardigan. This one screams (!) Duo by Sandnes, which I just found sososo great on the needles. I'm not sure I can resist. Rililie's pattern are genius. They are not a side project at the crucial points, but require concentration. But that doesn't matter, such a cardigan has long phases of blind knitting. In any case, we have already prepared the wool package for you, in case someone wants to beat me to it.

Since the publication of the 1908 magazine by Sandnes, I have also been flirting with this light summer sweater "Sommerstriper". It is knitted alternately from Tynn Line and Tynn Silk Mohair. At the latest when I saw the beginnings of this sweater from Betticreates (we show you below), it was again around me.

So: Summer Top, Sunday Cardigan, BlueSand or Summer Striper? Or just all of them at the same time? Pooh....

Small review of the hits 2018

Let's see what brought us to the needles last summer.

Photos: © ANKESTRiCK

There was the Notice (spring) from ANKESTRiCK. That was an absolute hit in 2018. This year, there is the beautiful new yarn Pascuali Cumbria and we have refreshed the wool package. Here's to the new Notice wool pack just out from Cumbria, which comes in beautiful colors (what's not in stock will come back in this month).

THE very biggest summer hit of 2018 here at Maschenfein was the Julia Topp 1806-09 - Sandnes yarn. The unbeatable priced knitting kit with magazine and yarn is of course still available in the store. The top is such a beautifully simple piece, you could just knit it several times in different colors and combine it with skirts all summer long.

And then last year there was the Tira Top from our Sandra Groll from Nepal. The kit is available here and on Instagram you can see many beautiful color combinations.

Instagram and around

Speaking of Instagram. There is also a lot to admire in our #maschenfeinstrickrunde:

Bettina knits as mentioned the summer striper exemplary with stitch test. Isn't it beautiful?

Then there is a Sundysweater by Strickhase and a Sunday Cardigan by Dagmar (she knitted it from Tynn Silk Mohair and Peer Gynt ) to admire.

The wool package for the sweater in Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair is here. And the wool package for our new version of the Sunday Cardigan in Duo and Silk Mohair is here.

Great duo love also at Feli Föhres. On the left the Jaiden sweater after Isabell Krämer and on the right two times Carls Cardigan from PetiteKnit.

Last but not least, a still unabating flood of Zora.

On the left, by the way, Petra Thalmann, who mastered the Zora cloth as a beginner. Bravo!!!

Click here for the Zora kit and here for the Zora tutorial (which is now also available in English on Ravelry due to popular demand).

Have a great weekend!
