Description
The shawl Tialda from the first Maschenfein book "Knitting shawls" is knitted in two threads. In the mosaic pattern part, the plain and brushed yarns are knitted together in the same colors. In the garter stitch part, one yarn of one quality in color 1 and one yarn of the second quality in color 2 are knitted together.
The knitting kit contains the necessary my SANDNESGARN Alpakka Silke (70% alpaca, 30% silk) and Tynn Silk Mohair (57% mohair, 15% virgin wool, 28% silk) in your desired colors, as well as optionally the book "Knitting scarves" with the pattern. In addition, you will need 4.0 and 5.0 mm circular knitting needles (or matching the gauge).

Susanne miller -
Hello, knitting right now the shawl Hinata from the great book knitting shawls.Next I would like to knit the Tialda.Would like but exactly the color as shown. You show me as 2.yarn mohair instead of alpaca. I think mohair scratches me too much.Is there another alternative? Would be very happy about a feedback.

Sophia Michalzik -
Dear Susanne, the shawl on the picture is knitted from a yarn that we do not have in the store. That's why I can't offer you the exact color. But I have consulted with my colleague about possible alternatives: You could combine Alpakka Silke with Premia or Piura from LAMANA. Premia is a silk-mohair yarn, but really, really soft. Piura is an alpaca yarn and would be a nice alternative, though, if necessary. If you want to be able to combine the colors more easily, you could combine Silke Milano or Modena from LAMANA with Premia or Piura instead of Alpakka. And then you could also combine Pascuali yarns: Puno Winikunka and Alpaca Lace. A word about mohair: Such a yarn gives the shawl the appropriate lightness and a certain fluff factor. Of course, you can replace it, but the shawl will still look a little different from the original.
If you have any help with the color scheme, feel free to email us at "support@maschenfein.de". The colleagues have the color cards and can keep all the colors together 🙂 Love! Sophia
