We are hot. Hot for knitting! And with you! When we saw the fall collection from SANDNES, it was quickly clear to us in the team: We want to have the designs. And what could be better than a fine Knit Along to start the fall? Exactly.
A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee! Today I present you again a few designs, the yarns used and some info about the KAL. We have a little update about the start. And maybe one or the other wants to join in. We would be happy! And if you already have a little SANDNES overkill, don't worry: I've also included two designs by Joji Locatelli, as well as some by Anne-Sophie Velling, and of course there's also some net talk.
In the team we have settled on two designs: Kelly and Fleur. Sandra is still deciding whether to wear the former with or without a slit - both are possible. Both use a combination of Peer Gynt or Smart and Tynn Silk Mohair. After you have already Peer Gynt before the kits were even online (I only say "Truffle Piggy"), we have switched to Smart switched to. Both variants work great.
You also have two options when knitting the Fleur Genser: You can knit it in three strands (two strands Kosone thread Tynn Silk Mohair) or two-threaded (one thread Kosone thread Tynn Silk Mohair). Special eye-catcher in the model is the playful pattern on the sleeves. Marisa has chosen Fleur and I am already very excited! By the way, all designs in the booklet are knitted top down. We are very happy about that, because we are big fans of this method. You can try on your knitted piece at any time and see if length and width fit.
Once all, please
By the way: Not only Kelly and Fleur are beautiful. In the booklet, which has a considerable weight, there are 13 pattern and I can only agree with Marisa when she wrote on Instagram: Once everything, please!
Besides a small bag there is for example the Bucket Bag. The practical bag is crocheted from Mandarin Petit crochet and certainly makes a great Christmas gift (memo to self: Gladly times again the crochet hook swing!). With the sweaters it has me still the Elle Genser in the Sunday variant (second picture from right) and yes, of course in the color shown.
Also very nice is the Lourdes Genser (left). As with Elle it is also made with Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair knitted. The pattern looks through the rather more delicate yarn combination not too coarse, but discreet despite its size. I really like very, very well!
And then I wanted to show you the Honey Genser show you. The pattern reminds - the name already says it - of honeycombs. It is worked with Kos and Børstet Alpakka. So the sweater gets fluff - and without any mohair at all. As you can see, this SANDNES magazine is a real success! If the magazine is already gone while you are browsing, please don't worry. The same goes for sold out colors: We have a lot of orders and some of them were gone right away. On Monday we will immediately make a large reorder. Your shipping time might be a bit longer, but you can order already now.
And please do not let stress arise!
This brings me directly to the next point: Instead of next Saturday, as originally planned, we now want to start with our Knit Along on October 1. You can join us anytime after that. There is also no end date - everyone just knits at their own pace 🙂 .
We would only be happy if you share your progress with us on Instagram and Facebook. Just use the hashtag #maschenfeinsandneskal. And feel free to use the gifs for your stories, which we have developed especially for this action with our mega graphic designer Stine. You can find them under the keyword maschenfein.
There is, of course, more than one Knit Along ...
Who now already has a knot in the brain from loud SANDNES spam - calm down! 🙂 I also have more knitting ideas and some net talk for you.
Already a few weeks ago I told you that there are new designs of the Argentine Joji Locatelli. And also that she is currently offering a discount on her tutorials (the code is valid until tomorrow - you can find all the info here).
Today I would like to present you two designs: the Sweater Newspaper and the Loop Forever and Ever. The sweater is knitted in rounds top down. In the brioche. So it was clear that I have to show you 😉 It is inspired by the contrast and lines of a classic newspaper. Joji Locatelli used two different yarns, but both with the same yarn gauge. So you could use here as in the original Fino From Manos del Uruguay and just use two colors. But also Organic Wool from Krea Deluxe, British Blue Wool Fingering from Erika Knight or the crown yarn Alpaca Soft would be possible. Either as an alternative for the second yarn used in the original or completely as a substitute for Fino.
The cowl is knitted in rows and then joined together with the stitch - so to speak invisibly. In the original, four colors are taken from one color family, creating a smooth transition. I imagine Forever and Ever also very nice in one color. As yarn you can use for example Manada from Pascuali or also Silky Kid from Kremke Soul Wool.

You know what else is great about fall? Well, apart from the cozy knitting time? When you make yourself comfortable on the sofa with a book. It can be a crime novel (in my case) or a knitting book. New in our store is for example the book Scandinavian Knitting Ideas by WitreDesign. From now on you can also pre-order Stripes by Veera Välimäki. The book is published by Laine and will be shipped to you from October 29th. It will still take a little while, but then the autumn really starts.

If you prefer to get straight into the knitting, our numerous knitting kits of course give you all the options. Really cute is for example the model Festvial Dress from PetiteKnit. Or you can try out the designs by Anne-Sophie Velling. Some of the Augustins designs are real works of art - knitting will definitely not be boring! And there are great yarns like Organic Cotten, Organic Wool and Deluxe Silk Mohair from Krea Deluxe or also the combi Snefnug and Midnatssol from CaMaRose. Simply all beautiful without exception!
New functions
Before we leave for the equally beautiful walk through our knitting round, one more hint with a view to the store. I have already told our newsletter subscribers, but of course everyone should know: From now on you can also share your wish lists via Whatsapp. My husband called this a killer feature and I think he's right. So fill your wish lists diligently - all you have to do is click on the "add to wish list" button in the corresponding product.
Even fresher than the wish list function is our pop up in the store that opens when you want to put more in the shopping cart than is currently available in stock. You can then decide whether you want to buy your product anyway or wait or take something else. Always great in any case, what our IT-Arlene conjures up.
Instagram knitting round
And now for the promised walk: You can still take a little summer with Kathrin. Sailing, Baltic Sea and a Emma Top are in any case a great sight! At Sigrun 's you don't see a finished knitted piece, but the so important first step: a stitch test. And this one does not even have a direct goal, but should first give a feeling. Namely how Manada and Saffira of Pascuali work together (spoiler: very well!).
Sandra is in the mood for autumn: she knits with the crown yarn Premium Cashmere (I also have it here - but for the Kolding). And Claudia knits the dress Lotta from the Duo from SANDNES. However, shortened and thus as a shirt. Also a cool idea - the box pleat is a great eye-catcher!
So, and now tell me: Do you start with our Knit Along in the fall or do you have other knitting plans? I wish you in any case a nice weekend and lots of fun knitting and browsing!

Moin moin,
I was able to buy wool from Krea de Luxe yesterday at the Strikkefestival on Fanö. The two sisters were personally at the start and I could tell that I became aware of this wonderful wool through you.
For me the best stand of the festival.
In the previous post is a photo of a gray sweater with round yoke, the pattern consists of right and left stripes with increases. What is the name of this design?
Have a great weekend,
Your Ellen
Hi Ellen,
this should be the Sunday Sweater from PetiteKnit:

Best regards
Andrea
Dear Ellen, first of all, great that you met the two sisters in person! 🙂 You mean the photo next to the Knit Alongs details section? That is indeed the Sunday Sweater as Andrea writes 🙂 The knitting kit is available here. Love and have a great start to the new week! Sophia
