A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee! The Maschenfein team has been back at full strength for a few days now - and that feels really good. It's good to have everyone on board again and my feeling is that the think tank for fall is just warming up.

Personally, I'm mostly inspired at the moment and haven't been able to decide what my first fall project will be. Are you guys stocked up yet? I mean, sure, all of our knitting lists are very, very long, but sometimes it just hasn't clicked yet. Maybe it will today!

Uutisia Suomesta - News from Finland

Two designs from the new Laine Magazine: Woven Bands and Rues de Paris. Photos: © Laine Publishing

As you know, I am a self-confessed fan of Laine. It almost doesn't matter what the team from Finland tackles and publishes - I want it! This is what happened with the twelfth issue of the magazine, available since yesterday. It was quickly added to the shopping cart. The weekend reading is ready!

For you, I have selected a few designs for this Saturday coffee, which I want to present in more detail. And if the English pattern scare you off: Don't worry - I'll also present a few in German.

A few details, as always to fall in love with.

But first a look at Finland: I'm always fascinated by the way Laine stages designs for books and magazines. It makes me itch to plan a vacation in Finland every time.

I am especially fond of these two sweaters: On the left pictures you can see Woven Bands from Claudia Eisenkolb and on the right Rues de Paris from Alma Bali. With the latter you can choose between two lengths. I would actually like the shortened version. And no, my belly doesn't really give that after the vacation (too many cinnamon buns!), but I don't want to go a) belly-free, but wear a blouse underneath and b) even if - never mind!

Back to basics: Woven Bands is knit in rounds from the bottom up. At sleeve level, you separate the work before joining it again at the top by casting off. The sleeves are overcut. As yarn we would recommend Organic Wool 1 from Krea Deluxe. Also the Semilla from BC Yarn would also be a great candidate (but we're still waiting for supplies here!).

Rues de Paris (which translates to "streets of Paris" and yes, I would look very good wearing it in that very city), on the other hand, is knit top down. The simple brioche pattern fits perfectly with the rather boxy design. Mon dieu, I really, really like it!

When it comes to the yarn, we chose something very special. The sweater is knitted in the original three strands - and one skein of the silk-mohair yarn has a beautiful color gradient. Thanks to our manufacturer Cowgirl Blues, we can offer you that as well. Our suggestion therefore: Merino Lace Solids, Kidsilk Solids and Kidsilk with color gradient. The yarns are handmade and dyed under fair conditions for humans and animals in South Africa.

Brioche, mon amour! So beautiful to look at the sweater Rues de Paris.

I still have to show you one design from the magazine ...

Of course, we do not leave one cloth unnoticed: Honey Glow by Tamy Gore, also from the twelfth Laine magazine.
Photo: © Laine Publishing

There are a total of 13 designs in the magazine - all beautiful, of course. But one I would like to show again, namely the scarf Honey Glow by Tamy Gore. I was immediately taken with this ultra-beautiful triangle scarf. Which is of course also due to this rich color, which does not let thoughts of a possible autumn blues arise at all.

With the yarn we have thought about something. The shawl should be soft, have a very soft sheen and of course shine in the most beautiful colors with an alternative yarn. Our choice therefore fell on a Pascuali combination: Saffira and Manada. Saffira is a noble yarn made of merino and silk, at Manada you will find mohair, silk, merino and yak. A really unusual mixture, which can also be worn on the neck quite wonderfully without scratching.

"Don't scratch" also applies to the material for baby and children's clothing. Therefore, feel free to take a look around at the new baby knitting kits. Jule has put some in for you for the SANDNES magazine 2108. This reminds me again that I finally have to knit something for my son, too. I took the first step and bought the wool (admittedly, that's the easiest part ...). What is it going to be? The Friday Sweater Mini from PetiteKnit.

The new design by Rosa P.: the Yannis Jumper.

But we are also busy adding knitting kits "for big people". Super fresh for example is the Yaanis Jumper by Rosa P. has been added to the store. As always with Rike, you can order the pattern as a download. As yarn we suggest - as also in the pattern as alternative thought - the Midnatssol from CaMaRose. The fluffy yarn comes without mohair - perfect for all who do not like or tolerate the fibers of the mohair goat.

The sweater itself is knitted seamlessly top down. Of course you need to make a stitch test, but with a needle size of about 4mm it is probably also a pretty snappy project and will certainly delight you already on the first autumn days.

New with us: Pattern from Stichfest

From now on you can also get the pattern of Stichfest from us. Of course, we have also created matching knitting kits for you. I hardly ever knit socks myself, but I think they are beautiful. And after Susanna aka Paula_m told me the other day that she is currently knitting the Sobekneferu from Stichfest, I got hooked again. The matching kit is available here.

A project from the Snefnug of CaMaRose must definitely still on the needles this year! Maybe the shawl Eva.ding?
Photo: © Kerstin Bovensiepen

But what is certain for me in any case: This year the Snefnug on the needles. In 2020 it was only enough for a small loop - this year I want more. A scarf maybe. Possible would be the Eva.thing from knit.ding. It is knitted from one tip over the middle to the other tip. And the colors of the Snefnug - a dream!

Maschenfein shop window

Hello, hello! Marisa has lots of great designs to show you soon!
Photos via Instagram: © instagram.com/bolerohund / instagram.com/schnieslii / instagram.com/bettina.dkntr

I took a little Instagram break during my vacation. True to the motto: see nothing, hear nothing, just knit. Did not work insofar that I have hardly knitted, but the social media time out did good anyway. All the more fun is the browsing now.

There's a lot going on in the meshy shop window: Heidi has almost finished the Augustins no 1 by Anne-Sophie Velling (a real work of art), Lisa's got the Mohair sweater no. 2 from Krea Deluxe is on the needles and Marisa will soon be able to wear the Friday Tee from PetiteKnit. Autumn is going to be a party, I tell you!

This impression is also solidified when I look at the new SANDNES designs for the fall. Guys, maybe it just clicked here with me!

Because my gaze always gets stuck on the Kelly Genser with slit again and again. I happen to know that the rest of the Maschenfein team is pretty taken with the designs, too. This smells like a knitalong, don't you think? We're expecting delivery of the magazine pretty soon, so feel free to check out the individual designs here.

Eieie, maybe it just clicks here with me? The Kelly Genser of SANDNES.

Maschenfein knitting round

Photos via Instagram: © instagram.com/malila.knits / instagram.com/ninis.needle

Festive is of course also as always the look in our knitting round. Do you prefer it colorful or are you in the #teamfröhlichesgrau? The great thing about do-it-yourself is that it's up to you. With Verena Mathilde, for example, I always see so much color, which immediately puts me in a good mood. You can currently admire the finished Slipstravaganza by Stephen West can be admired. À propos: In October the new mystery knitalong of the Dutchman starts. Are you in the mood for yarn suggestions? Jule and I have already thought about it!

If you prefer it plain, you should definitely have a look at Nini. She is currently knitting the Mor Cardigan from ChrisBerlin. The gray of the Merida and Modena by LAMANA is restrained, but just so beautiful. Hach. If you didn't always have to choose!

Photos via Instagram: © instagram.com/maschenannika / instagram.com/laristrickt

Two wonderful little things you discover with Annika and Larissa. Annika has knitted the Honeyclutch in the Krea Deluxe version and will give it away. Someone will surely be very, very happy!

Larissa knits out Sensai and Kinu the Scarf No. 1 from My Favourite Things Knitwear. Great idea! And guess who has both yarns at home and now knows what it becomes!

What are your knitting plans for the weekend? Small or big project? Already autumnal or still summery? Feel free to tell us! In any case, we hope you have fun knitting and browsing!

Hello dear Maschenfeinteam 😊
I just started with the Diamond Jumper by Anne Ventzel from the Snefnug. Truly another knit to think about, just knitting it down is a no-go. But it does not get boring and what is still the motto? One more round goes! 😂. And the Snefnug is a wonderful yarn, which is very nice to knit.
Best regards from Bremen and a good start to the week, Karen

Sophia

Dear Karen! Hach, Snefnug and a design by Anne Ventzel - that's nice! And I'm sure every stitch is worth it 🙂 Good luck with your continued knitting! Love and have a great week! Sophia

Iris

Oh my, this will be a must have for me! This cut, this slot - I am very excited about your knitting kit. Currently I knit with much joy the Tiril 16! I'm just worried that the knit-in colors won't be enough.... Let's see! Oh, there are always so many beautiful things with you.... I hope my daughters-in-law in SPE have wishes too-otherwise I need a new closet.
Thank you so much for your inspiring articles and effort. Have a good time
Kind regards Iris

Sophia

Dear Iris, thank you for your lovely comment! And nice to see how much you enjoy knitting. If your daughters-in-law don't want anything, I'll take some off your hands 😉 And I keep my fingers crossed that the yarn will last! Very best wishes and have a good week! Sophia

Heike

Hello my name is Heike,

I fell in love with this beautiful scarf. From Instagram.com/manilaknits/. Where can I get the anlet? Is it difficult from the pattern?

Sophia

Dear Heike, you mean the scarf Verena Mathilde is wearing in the photo? That is the Slipstravaganza by Stephen West. You can find the pattern on Ravelry(https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/slipstravaganza). I haven't knitted the shawl myself yet, but I guess it is something for experienced knitters. However, Stephen West also has some video tutorials that can be a great help if necessary. And you also grow with your tasks 😉 If you are looking for suitable yarn, feel free to send us an email to "support@maschenfein.de". The colleagues can then support you in the selection. Best regards! Sophia

Petra

The fall designs of Sandes are the hammer. There I immediately want to knit every single one.
With a Knitalong I would be there immediately

LG greetings from Austria

A very good morning to you all,

yesaaa!!!! I saw the Kelly Genser a few days ago and was immediately blown away....must have! I hope it goes into your knitting kits and there will be an affordable version too?! Currently I am still knitting my first Kolding with alpaca silke in this wonderful rosé.... Teamrosa halt, it must also not always be a cheerful gray with me😆

Greetings from the Westerwald and a cozy weekend!

Susanne

Sophia

Dear Susanne, yes, the Kelly Genser... It's definitely on my shortlist! Of course, we'll add the matching knitting kits as soon as the magazine arrives in our warehouse 🙂 Feel free to contact us via email ("support@maschenfein.de") if you have any questions about the kit and/or the yarns 🙂 Love and have a great start to the week!
