Sometimes - not with us, of course - the opinion still prevails that knitting is old-fashioned, knitted things unfashionable. I think we all agree that neither is true. The many, many designers prove this with their designs and we all prove this with our knitting results. Apart from the fact that knitting is demonstrably good for you, you actually create small and large works of art.

All the more pleased I am to provide you today again with a fresh Saturday coffee with knitting inspiration and net whisper. But after that, our favorite little coffee goes into a little Easter break to take a breath and collect lots of new ideas for you! (You can also tell my increased coffee consumption by the fact that I refer to myself as coffee with this sentence...) But before that, we'll linger again at our maschenfein breakfast table and have a nice Saturday chat! Because as always, there is much to discuss.

Already knitted a slipover?

In our last Maschenfein meeting, we also briefly got into storytelling. The reason for this was Marisa, who enthusiastically reported on her new project: After a bit of deliberation, she decided on the Friday Slipover V-Neck from PetiteKnit, which we also introduced to you before.

The eye-catcher of the Friday Slipover V-Neck is the broken rib patternPhoto

So she is a bit "late to the party", as they say today, but better late than never. 😉 Seriously: Still sweater-äh slipovers enjoy great popularity and I personally hope that it remains so. I like them, they are knitted quickly and you can wear them not only in winter.

...and what do I wear with it?

The fact that Marisa hesitated so long to put on a slipover was due to the fact that she was unsure what to wear with it. As a passionate leggings wearer, the slipover was simply too short for her. Our solution: wear a dress underneath or an extended long-sleeved shirt. There are many possibilities - but no one can avoid knitting a slipover.

By the way, the Friday Slipover V-Neck is knitted from Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair by SANDNES and like (almost) all designs by PetiteKnit seamless top down.

Brand new from PetiteKnit is the Louvre SweaterA classic model of the busy Dane, with raglan cut, high collar and wide sleeves. Knitted again top down, the neckline is formed with short rows. In the knitting kit you'll find Peer Gynt by SANDNES, a pure virgin wool yarn made from Norwegian sheep's wool. The yarn has been around since 1938 - making Peer Gynt the oldest yarn in the SANDNES family.

Unfortunately, due to the current situation, the delivery of certain colors is delayed. Either you sign up for your desired color with your email address and be notified when supplies are available. Or you can have a look at the Sunday from SANDNES. Double knit the yarn would be a nice alternative for the Louvre Sweater. If you get cold quickly, you can also use the Alpaca Fino from Pascuali. By the way: In our knitting kits we have added more designs from PetiteKnit and you can also buy their pattern in printed form from now on. If you prefer the digital version, you can still find it on Ravelry or directly on Mette's site.

Hood desired?

As I type these lines, Würzburg spoils me with the finest sleet, puddle alarm and sometimes a portion of hail. So you would like to pull something over your head. But here, too, our favorite hobby has of course a solution.

November20 from Ankestrick©
Ankestrick

Because at least since Lia Lykkes The Simple Knit Hood we know that knitted hoods are a great companion. A perfect extension are hooded sweaters - knitted of course. I have found three designs for you. And I can not spontaneously decide which is the most beautiful!

Since yesterday available and already added to our knitting kit, there is the Tjeelva Hoodie by Rosa P. It is worked top down. The hood is then picked up from the stitches of the neck gauge. The sweater is knitted with two yarns, one Duo and one Tynn Silk Mohair.

Hoodie with pattern

If you don't like to knit stockinette stitch, you should definitely check out TheCozyHoodie by Clarissa Schellong aka cozyknits. Here you also knit top down, but with the so-called SeedRibStitch. This consists of a sequence of four stitches. Clarissa has recorded a great video that explains the pattern and the technique perfectly. It is knitted with two threads Sunday and one thread Tynn Silk Mohair. Single yarn Snefnug would also be possible.

As a third and already so long on my list I would still have the sweater November20 from Ankestrick for you. Thanks to the request of a customer I remembered that I wanted to show you the absolutely yet. This sweater is also a cozy model with room to move and is knitted top down. For the yarn we would suggest Cusi and Piura from LAMANA. Some of you may know the combo from the cardigan in our basics book. We recommend brushing brushed yarns like Cusi back into shape after wearing them for a while. It works great with this little helper from Prym.

Beautiful back view

If the hoodies are too cozy for you, you should definitely check out this sweater/cardigan: Lusen Is a design that you can wear with the button front (as a cardigan) or with the button back (as a sweater). The pattern are in English, but maybe one or two of you will dare!

A pretty back...

Lusen is knitted seamlessly top down in rows. The sizes range from XS to 3XL - so a really wide range. Pretty detail is the delicate lacemuster on the sleeves.

Now finally reveal the garnkombi!

Yes yes, come on! Here we have chosen something fine for you: You can - if you want to stay closer to the original yarn - go for the combination Cusi and Piura. Oooor - and I find this combo particularly appealing - choose Koan and Lunar from Shibui. The linen and silk content of the yarns will make your cardigan/sweater even more spring-like.

If you're still looking for a last-minute souvenir...

Discovered by Sibel and found to be absolutely magical!

...will of course also find with us! Whereby that is not quite true. All three little things shown in the picture I have namely discovered in Sibel's Instagramfeed and was blown away. So beautiful! And above all quickly knitted and therefore ideal for all who are still looking for a little something for Easter (memo to ourselves: Due to the current situation, maybe still allow time for shipping to our loved ones. But we already know that from Christmas and are prepared accordingly! *irony out*).

So you could knit the cute socks according to a tutorial by Tanja Steinbach. You can get the pattern for free via her blog and as yarn you can take the crown yarns from Regia.

The little scarves Sweet Li'l Scarfette can be knitted with mohair scraps like Kidsilk Haze from Rowan (two-ply!). It's important that your yarn is very soft and doesn't scratch your neck. By the way, the pattern are also free. And perfect for scraps are also the pretty Scrunchies Augustins no. 2 by Anne-Sophie Velling. Here, too, is knitted two-thread.

Pssst...net whisper!

There's always something going on in our little knitting community. At Maschenfein anyway. Maybe you've already seen it on Instagram: We have a new member in our team! Arlene is taking care of our site since this week and helps us with the small and big construction sites that such a homepage brings with it. We are just so happy that she is here!

Arlene, by the way, is a dachshund owner. And we at Maschenfein like animals (sheep especially). But we also have a big heart for truffle pigs. And maybe one or the other good sleuth has already discovered something with a view to a certain day in May... Tüdelüüüü. And tomorrow morning you should also definitely update the Maschenfein podcast Just one more row. Because there's a new episode coming! This has exceptionally less to do with knitting, but is still incredibly exciting!

Our podcast will also help you pass the time until the eagerly anticipated book 52 Weeks of Shawls by Laine comes out. You can now pre-order the book from us - it will then be delivered from April 30, the release date of the book, which bundles many great shawl and scarf designs. Just note that everything you buy together with the book will also be shipped after April 30.

Maschenfein knitting round

All of you who are part of #teamblau should be especially happy about the following knitting projects: Sandra is busy knitting her Robin Sweater. And yes, the rounds are darn long. But it's worth it! Especially with the great yarn combination of Puno Winikunka from Pascuali and Sensai from ITO. Ina is also knitting a design by Paula_m. The Jules Sweater - here in the original version made of Ica by LAMANA - will be a super companion for spring. I just know it!

And then I discovered a hoodie in the #maschenfeinstrickrunde. Anja knits TheCozyHoodie and I can understand everyone who is itching to knit it now... And finally I have a picture for all #teamrosa members (including me 😉 ): Silke knits the Kylerby Isabell Kraemer from Como and Premia from LAMANA. Such a great combo, too. And perfect for this shawl!

For now, we wish you a wonderful weekend. With lots of knitting time and few Corona blues. And remember: We won't meet again for Saturday coffee for another four weeks. But don't worry. A big blog post is definitely still planned! And we can't sit still at Maschenfein anyway... 😉 See you very soon!

Sieglinde

Good morning to the round, the little scarves are absolutely cute. I would like to start right away, but the pattern are only available in English. That's nice - but I can't translate it usable for me. I need HELP!! Where and how do I getinstructionsttern translated. Easter is just around the corner and I could finally turn my wool scraps really well. Also I would be interested in the book " 52 weeks..." if there would be a German version of this.

Sophia

Dear Sieglinde, unfortunately we don't have a translation for the neck scarf. But there are many tables online with translations of the most common knitting terms. Maybe this will help you? Have a look at this table. And I can also recommend our Facebook group. People there are always happy to help with such questions. You can find the group here. The book 52 Weeks of Shawls will unfortunately only be available in English and Finnish (the publisher is from Finland). I'm sorry that I can't give you any other information here. But I have found that knitting according to English pattern requires a little practice, but then works very well. Maybe it's similar for you 🙂 Love and have a good week! Sophia

Corinna

Hello, again a beautiful post, unfortunately my Kaffeeration for this morning is already gone. The yellow sweater on the 1st picture at the beginning of the blog is also totally beautiful. Unfortunately I can not find any details about it.
Have a nice weekend, Corinna

Sophia

Dear Corinna, thank you for your praise 🙂 The yellow sweater is called Blue Tunnel and is a design by Katrin Schneider. I have also linked the knitting kit under the Saturday Coffee at the products. Or you can just click here 🙂 Have fun knitting and a good week! Sophia

Katrin

Hello, good morning, even though it's almost noon. But I was still drawing and writing in my knitting book this morning, then cleaning out my little stash and putting it away again to see what's due next. Right now I'm still all knitted up in SOLE, and already waiting for the colors I need to reorder but can't yet because they're not there. Am already fully into summer. Whereby, your TheCozyHoodie from cozyknits I also really like ... I'm already remembering for fall, which will certainly come back at some point.

I always like all sweaters and shirts that are knitted down from the top, like the Louvre Sweater above, very chic and sporty.

The book "52 weeks of shawles" would interest me, but it looks "very british". No, I love english, but: is there a translation with it or is it available in "german"?

Love greetings, Katrin from Essen

Sophia

Dear Katrin, I also have a list where I write down all the projects I would like to knit someday. "Unfortunately, it is getting longer and longer 😉 The book "52 Weeks of Shawls" is only available in English and Finnish, no other translations are planned. I'm sorry that I can't give you any other information there. Anyway, best regards and have a great Sunday! Sophia

Anja

A beautiful good morning from the corner of the sofa. ☕🧶
Thank you dear Sophia, for another great Saturday coffee.
Actually I shouldn't even read it, because every time my to-do list gets longer. 🙈
Currently I have like Sabine the hoodie November20 on the needles and am also close to completing the second sleeve.
I'm knitting it with Luma from The Fibre Company. A great project, just right for the transitional period.
I wish you a happy Easter holiday. Hopefully you can enjoy them with your family.
Love, Anja

Sophia

Dear Anja! The Luma I also want to try necessarily times, from the Marisa has already raved so. Thank you so much for your kind words and have a great time! Sophia

Ines

Dear Sophia,
You have such a great desk! Just the right mix of great knitting info and a dose of tongue in cheek:) - love it!
And thank you so much that the tutorial from peitite knit is now available on your site!!!
Love greetings Ines

Ines

Sophia

Dear Ines, oh, thank you so much for the nice feedback! That makes me very happy 🙂 Have fun with your knitting and best regards! Sophia

Forest Fairy

Too bad I'm on late duty again, I always do not get to knit 🧶 A great Saturday coffee is that again with so many inspirations. This time I fell in love with the bright yellow socks. So beautiful 🤩 The hoodies are also mega, but I already have the Sweater No.9 on the needles. Always nice one after the other.
Now I wish you all a beautiful pre-Easter 🐰 🥚

Sophia

Yes, I also have to knit away first what before what new on the needles may ... 😉 So I understand you! You have a good time too and see you soon! Sophia

Rena

Good morning with Saturday coffee, I like it, it comes before the daily newspaper.
Unfortunately, an error has crept into the report *Last Minute Gifts*....the good Mrs. Steinbach is called Tanja not Erika.
I wish happy Easter and enjoy the family time.

Sophia

Good morning! For God's sake! I corrected that immediately. Thank you for pointing it out! Love and have a great weekend! Sophia

Trixi

Again a beautiful inspiration, restful Easter with lots of knitting time and Erika is called Tanja🤫

Sophia

Good morning! Oh no, what a stupid mistake. I corrected it immediately! Thanks for pointing it out and have a great weekend! Sophia

Sophia

Dear Sabine, I already realize, I have to knit something with a hood 😀 Thank you for your good wishes and do not worry: I'll be in touch on the blog again before Easter - just not in the Saturday coffee 😉 Love and a good time! Sophia

Verena

Thanks for another very nice and informative Saturday coffee!
Even if the news a bit saddened that we must now go so long without our Saturday portion of caffeine ☺️ completely.
