A wonderful good morning to Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein. Monday kicks off our big #mothersdaysmysteryKAL and we're seeing Milano all over the Maschenfein community. It's really incredible, I think you're all knitting along! We are really looking forward to it and if you have a few minutes, then scroll through our Maschenfein knitting round on Facebook, there you can see so many beautiful waiting pictures of the Milano combinations, a whole sea of them.

But surely you still feel like beautiful inspirations from the knitting world, because firstly there is still a knitting life after our mystery shawl "Zora", secondly, head knitting is always fun and thirdly, some people like to knit always in parallel.

Wonderful is the Diagonal Color Block Shawl by Chiaki Hayashi, which you could knit for example from Sandnes Alpakka Ull. If you need the pattern, you can find them on Ravelry, but basically it's so simple that it's enough inspiration to knit it.

There is a new, wonderfully pretty design by Isabell Kraemer, this cardigan called Mariechen. Isn't it great? You could knit it from Sandnes Peer Gynt or Rowan Cotton Cashmere, you can find the pattern on Ravelry also in German. Mariechen is knitted seamlessly top down, with a raglan seam. The lace pattern in the front is a real eye-catcher.

New yarns in the store! BC Yarn

Somewhat secretly, because we had so incredibly busy in the last few days, the first yarns from BC Yarn have migrated to the store. I am very happy about that. I have long been flirting with BC yarn and then had to strike at the fair. BC Yarn is especially known for the sustainable production of the yarns. Since we have had great wool packages for pattern by Regina Moessmer in the store for quite some time, I was now especially happy about a current, special cooperation between BC Yarn and Regina Moessmer and got a small booklet full of beautiful designs made of BC Yarn at the fair. We first decided on three qualities. Babyalpaca (100% alpaca with a yardage of 250m per 50g), the GOTS certified eco yarn Bio Balance (55% virgin wool, 45% cotton with a yardage of 225m per 50g) and the eco yarn Semila flamé (100% virgin wool with a yardage of 95m per 50g). If you are missing one of the BC qualities, please contact us. We will gladly continue to expand.

And now to some of the beautiful matching designs, we haven't gotten around to making the wool packages in the store yet, but you can already find the yarns here.

The LIEKKI cardigan was the reason we really wanted BC Semilla Flamé right now, even though it is a very heavy and therefore more of a winter yarn. It is knit seamlessly top down with a "continuous shoulder" construction. I absolutely love the pattern on the back and we got to feel this cardigan at the show. It is great! You can also find the pattern in German on Ravelry and there are also the exact quantities you need for your size listed.

The second cardigan, ZIANI, is knit seamlessly top down with a round yoke and is made from BC Babyalpaca, which we have totally fallen in love with. The pattern are available on Ravelry (also in German).

If you would like to try the BC Bio Balance, you can do so with the sweater JANI. Click here for the pattern on Ravelry, the sweater is also knitted seamlessly top down with a round yoke.

LOTILDA workshops in Berlin

Do you remember the interview with Tanja aka Lotilda a few weeks ago? Exactly, Lotilda with the heavy knitting needles and the beautiful mohair cardigans and tops, for which you can also find all the wool packages here. For all Berliners or those who would like to have a reason for a trip to Berlin again, here is the ultimate tip for the end of April:

On April 27/28 there will be three LOTILDA workshops at Kunstgewerbehaus Berlin - Zehlendorf!

There is a workshop on the Lotta Cardigan, which is primarily aimed at advanced beginners, who can learn the technique of top-down knitting (by picking up stitches from the knitted pieces) using the LOTTA Cardigan as an example.

There are two workshops for the new kimono shirt, the pattern will be published at Easter, the wool package can already be found here in the store.

You can register directly with Tanja for the workshops(registration workshop Lotta Cardigan and registration workshop Kimono Shirt). The Kunstgewerbehaus is an enchanting place in Berlin, I was just there myself for a course and will certainly come to visit you at Tanja's workshops.
