LAMANA - Como Tweed

COMO TWEED is the COMO version with a fashionable tweed look. A three-ply twisted yarn made from 100% superfine Merino wool with 18.5 microns in DK weight. The carded yarn with 120m running length on only 25g gets its unique lightness and extremely soft feel through an innovative production method. The temperature-regulating and breathable characteristics of merino wool are further enhanced and the light wool fluff creates an elegant, subtly matt surface.

These characteristics make COMO Tweed very versatile. Thanks to its softness and machine washability, it is ideal for baby clothes, accessories and anything that needs to be cozy soft. Fair Isle has a great look and larger knitted items in particular benefit from the low weight and hold their shape perfectly thanks to the elasticity combined with the lightness of the yarn.

COMO Tweed is not superwash treated, but can be machine washed at 30° wool program without any problems. The wool then blooms again and becomes noticeably softer, fluffier and the knitting pattern even denser.

Depending on the desired effect, COMO Tweed can be knitted both tightly woven and airy and offers the perfect basis for combinations with our other qualities. For an extra portion of fluffiness and even more softness, COMO Tweed can be knitted wonderfully with the super kid mohair yarn PREMIA, but MODENA and the alpaca yarns PIURA and CUSI are also perfect as supplementary yarns.

Responsibility

We source the mulesing-free raw wool for COMO Tweed from selected Australian sheep farms and have it spun and dyed in Italy by a family-run traditional company. The merino wool used is certified in the areas of animal welfare, sustainability and social responsibility and is dyed in accordance with the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products.
