Good morning to Saturday coffee with our beloved net whisper from the big wide knitting world with lots of inspiration and ideas for knitting and around Maschenfein. Yesterday, without any incidents (you might not believe it), the second part of our big Amelia Shawl Mother's Day Mystery Knit-Along went online. So all those who knit along had the second part of the pattern in their inbox at shortly after nine in the morning.

The next step is the two-color brioche pattern. Of course I'm not there yet, so don't panic! But so it will go on. On the picture you can see the original Amelia shawl. This shawl is knitted from Tynn Silk Mohair with Tynn Alpakka Ull. And if you are not yet familiar with the two-color brioche pattern, Sandra explains it in detail on our Maschenfein Youtube channel. Here she shows how to knit two-color brioche pattern and how to recognize the stitches correctly in all rows. And in this video she explains how the increases work in the two-color brioche pattern.

I love, love, love brioche patterns and two-color ones at that! And I'm really looking forward to arriving at part 2 of Amelia soon myself... All knitting kits can be found here and of course there are the pattern as always also individually as a PDF (the parts are also then unlocked little by little :)).

Parallel to my projects on the needles I always find time to browse the knitting world. And also in the past week I have discovered again some beauties for you. Maybe there is something for you:

Suvi Simola, for example, has brought out two beautiful scarves with lacemuster. The shawl Misty Woodlands you would knit two-thread in Alpakka Silke and Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Yarn. The tutorial is available here on Ravelry

The other shawl is called Morning Sun by Suvi Simola. Click here for the tutorial on Ravlery and you could knit this shawl very nicely from Road to China Light by the Fibre Company.

In the beautiful Insta feed of Knittin Eypril I came across the Ulla Sweater. You can find the pattern here, the sweater is knit in three strands top down, you could combine three strands of Tynn Silk Mohair. The top is worked with an interlocked rib pattern that conjures up the interesting collar shape. I like it a lot! I also think the oversize sleeves are great.

While browsing, I also fell in love with the Luna sweater from Espace Tricot, which has a slightly similar shape and also features an interlocked rib pattern. You can find the pattern here on Ravelry. You could knit it two-threaded from LAMANA Modena and Premia.

Espace Tricot has also a great free tutorial ready: The poncho "Comfort Zone" from CaMaRose Snefnug (have just finally missing colors can reorder!). You can find the pattern here on Ravelry, the poncho is knitted very simply top down in rounds. Since one is ruckizucki finished.

And while we're on the subject of Espace Tricot: Isn't this one great? This is the Gather Round Sweater, the pattern are here on Ravelry. You could knit it from Sandnes Sunday with Tynn Silk Mohair, for example. A very popular combination right now.

New in Maschenfein Shop

We have waited a long, long, long time! And now the first backpacks from Twig & Horn have finally arrived.

Just like the big project bags from Twig & Horn (of which most colors have been out of stock for some time), these backpacks are so really well thought out, with lots of nice compartments, grommets, and a nice amount of space.

We have some new Rowan wool packs and knitting kits in the store. For example for this design by Lisa Richardson: the Cowl Cardigan. It's knitted in Kid Classic, the pattern are available for free in German and I think it's a great piece for chic but cozy office outfits.

Matching there is also the wool package for this beautiful skirt with braid, the Cabled Skirt. The pattern are also in German and knitted with Rowan Alpca Soft DK. If I ever get out of my yoga or jogging pants again in this life, this skirt (in something shorter though) could also go into my closet.

Maschenfein Knitting round on Instagram

In the Maschenfeinen knitting community are again so many beautiful projects on the needles, or just finished! You can find them under the hashtags #maschenfein, #maschenfeinstrickrunde, #maschenfeinshop or currently, of course, for example, also under #ameliaKAL

For example, Irena has just cast off Margareta's Mama (you can get the knitting kit here), what a beautiful shawl! Isa (pictured right) is just carrying out her Bjarka soul warmer. Goes wonderfully with the beautiful spring weather, check out the knitting kit here.

Two Luna shawls have been finished. On the left the original version in Sultano Fine by Rowan, knitted by Claudi (the knitting kit is available here). And on the right the Sandnes yarn alternative knitted from Tynn Line and Tynn Silk Mohair, knitted by Lina. You can find the Sandnes alternative knitting kit here.

And now I'm looking forward to all the color changes in the Amelia Mother's Day Knit Along and lots of beautiful pictures of the two-color brioche pattern in the next Saturday Coffee! Have a good weekend and stay healthy!
