A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee with lots of net talk around Maschenfein and the knitting world. There is a lot going on here! After Sandra had worked off the slightly pent-up mail chaos after her vacation on Monday, we were able to welcome our new working student Jule in a Zoom phone call on Wednesday. Jule is already in the heavy of things, in our maschenfein working world, diligently putting on waiting products, checking colors and maintaining the store. What are we glad to have more support again!

We can also truly make good use of support. The temperatures are falling and our idea barometer is rising.

In a long Skype session on Thursday, I made plans with Paul Pascuali. Very loooong term plans. We knitters are patient, aren't we? I always learn a lot from talking to Paul, I think there needs to be a second conversation with Paul for you in our next podcast series (which starts later this year, by the way)! You can still listen to the first one here.

Yesterday was finally the long-delayed visit to one of our wholesalers Schmeichel partner. A short trip from Berlin. I came home with an extra bag (full of yarn) and even more plans and in fact I could have chatted with the owner Britta at least through the night.

Sweater knit

To get in the mood for the slightly cooler temperatures, more and more sweaters are popping up on the web. Sweater knitting (and wearing) is definitely IN. Last week you had wished here so more sweater inspirations and the most beautiful sweater designs we have therefore put together for you today once here:

The infamous Friday Slipover by Petite Knit is available in a V-neck version and a round neck version. You can find wool packages for both versions in our store, they are both knitted in two strands of Tynn Silk Mohair and Sunday.

The construction is the same for both designs (top to bottom, seamless), except that the left and right sides of the front are knitted down separately a little longer for the V-neck. As always, it's really important to knit a gauge.

While the Friday Slipover has a very clear structure in its broken rib pattern, the Stockholm Slipover is kept absolutely simple in stockinette stitch. Certainly a bit more monotonous to knit, but an absolute basic piece for fall and winter. The Friday Slipover is also knitted in Tynn Silk Mohair and Sunday.

Although not a classic Pulunder, but also pretty for over the top: The Collar No. 1 from My Favorite Things Knitwear. You could knit it in two strands of Semilla Cablé from BC Yarn and Tynn Silk Mohair or Kidsilk Haze.

I fell in love with the Terrazzo Slipover from Mette, I have already presented it to you in the last Saturday Coffee.

You also always want pattern and wool packages for men's designs. Unfortunately rare in the knitwear design scene. But this model from Sandnes Magazine 2008 "Sunday" is great: the Mr. Casual Slipover, knitted from Sandnes Sunday.

Knit leo pattern

I am not only sweater, but also leo pattern lemming. The leo pattern is also quite hip for some time. Currently I wear (home office thanks) prefer yoga pants in all imaginable variants, including my favorite two leo pattern pants, you have already seen in my Insta-Stories.

There are not many knitting pattern for designs in the leo pattern, but the hat Leo by Susanne aka Paula knits is popular and very well known. We also have the matching wool package in the store.

If you want to use the leo pattern elsewhere, you can find free pattern at Double PointNadelspiels a video and as a PDF knitting script.

As a free PDF download you can also find here a tutorial for a loop in leo pattern.

He's here! This impossibly beautiful sweater in stripes has us in the last few weeks again and again in snap. Shortly before release he was still renamed in: CAMBITO, knitted from many beautiful ITO colors. On the left the original model by Katrin, on the right the team blue model by Sandra. Of course, the matching wool package from the ITO Original is already available in our store.

There is another variant of the sweater from ITO Kinu and ITO Sensai. This wool package we pack you next week in the store!

Insta inspiration of the week

Photos: © Anne-Sophie Velling aka @augustins.dk via Instagram

Our Insta-Inspiration of the week is the account of Anne-Sophie Velling aka augustins.dk. Anne-Sophie is an architect and designs very unusual knitwear. I'm pretty excited about the designs. They are so very different from anything we know. Especially the sweater in the bottom row, middle, I like: the Augustins No. 1. I can imagine it with black leggings, a real work of art. I also think the sweater in the upper right is great, but I haven't been able to find the pattern. I guess it is still in the works. What do you think of the designs?

From the Maschenfein knitting round

Our weekly Insta-knitting round leads us today to Sophia, Wolle_und_Buch, Strickhase and Kathrin:

Sophia has the Luna shawl three-threaded on the needles: 2x LAMANA Piura and 1x LAMANA Premia. This looks mega, maybe I also have to have this someday... You can find the tutorial for the Luna shawl here.

Wolle_und_buch has knitted your third (!) Amelia shawl! That's what I call true Amelia love. The Amelia shawl tutorial is here and you can find our different knitting kits here.

Strickhase has the Dahlia My Size on the needles. The pattern are available from Lene directly and Strickhase knits it from Tynn Alpakka Ull and Tynn Silk Mohair.

Kathrin aka waldfee_66 has finished knitting the Ankers Sweater my size from Sunday. The matching wool package is available here in the store.

Have a great weekend!

Dear Sir or Madam,

looking for a knitting pattern for women's sweaters I came across your sweater "Petitesse Knit".
Could you please send me the knitting pattern for size 34 and 36 and what wool you used.

It looks great and I would love to knit it.

With kind regards
Gisela Mayer

Dear Gisela, how nice that you found what you were looking for! I'm afraid I don't know which slipover by PetiteKnit you mean. The designer has published several 🙂 In the text Marisa shows four pieces: the Friday slipover with v-neck, the Friday slipover with round neck, the Stockholm slipover and the Terrazzo slipover. If you click on each link, it will take you to the respective knitting kit. There you select the appropriate size and get the required amount of yarn. You can also order the pattern in paper form. However, we don't have all of them in stock right now, but they are also available in digital form on Ravelry or directly at PetiteKnit. If you need further help, please send us an email to "support@maschenfein.de". I hope I could help you a little bit anyway 🙂 Love, Sophia
