A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein! Make yourself comfortable, we open for you as every Saturday our Maschenfein knitting café with many nice ideas and news from the Maschenfein community.

Yes, we're bubbling over with ideas and even though I've been holding down the fort here alone for the past two weeks, I'm sure you've noticed in the sheer increase in Insta-Stories time how much I'm looking forward to more fall knitting time. It's the beginning of a transitional time for us knitters. Some may awaken your knitting needles from hibernation so very slowly, when it gets light later in the morning and late in the evening already smells slightly of autumn.

Others (surely you readers here rather belong to this two species :)) hang anyway incessantly on the needles and slowly begin to browse through our warmer yarns and designs with long sleeves. Cardigans, sweaters.... hach, that will be fine in the fall!

This and that from the Maschenfein team

Sandra has spent her well-deserved vacation at the sea and is from next week eeeeendlich back! I'm really looking forward to it, because I missed the daily exchange already pretty much at the desk *schnief*. You have to know: we all work virtually with each other, distributed throughout Germany, but we have installed during the week (and often on weekends) virtually a Maschenfeine dedicated line over which we exchange constantly.

Sophia, soon to be our new Maschenfeine editorial director by my side, wrote her first newsletter for us and you guys liked it so much! Me too! She's ready to go, but we'll have to wait until her official launch on October 1. By the way, you can read her first newsletter again here!

We have some new employees at the packing table and had there in the past two / three weeks a few teething problems, ahem. The one or the other package was not packed as pretty as usual, but there was just a lack of clear pattern, I have to hold my own nose and I was able to point out everything again exactly thanks to your tips. I have learned: If I say "beautiful", it does not mean that everyone also sees the "beautiful picture" in my head the same :). If you understand how I mean. Feel free to keep giving me pointers of this nature. Praise is always great!! But constructive criticism also brings us a lot further. So that is very welcome.

The new Maschenfein comes

From the "re-branding front" I can still report that our new database in the background as well as the new structure of the site are already in place. I am incredibly excited. More and more every day! But it feels like it will take years. Planned is October.

I'm in daily contact with our graphic designer Stine, she pushes fonts and images back and forth and sets everything up so that Jochen and Pia (my two programming heroes) can implement everything as quickly as possible. And since Jochen is also a graphic designer by nature anyway, he fills in all the gaps I forget or helps me with all the difficult decisions.

Because even if it may sound strange: Deciding is not my strength. Pretty awkward with such a big mammoth project... haha! Well, you just have to have the right people on your side :).

One thing that already works great is the new tracking! You will be informed about everything DHL does automatically via email. If a package is misdirected. If it is in the Packstation. If it has been there for so long that you have to hurry. If a third party has received the package... and and and. I think this is so great and so do you!

Knitting ideas for autumn

My goodness, now I have digressed! But after all, we are here in the Maschenfeinen Knitting Café, there may also chat and talk. Or?

But now to our weekly knitting ideas:

The Purple Coke Cardigan I had already presented to you somewhere (probably in my Instastories), but the wool package was missing in the store. I always think, you will find the yarns anyway, but you love it comfortable and that is finally our greatest strength here in the Maschenfein store. So I have now bundled the wool package for you in the store and you can easily choose your desired size and your desired colors, order and start knitting.

The Purple Coke Cardigan is the third design in Katrin's Purple Coke series. There is also the shirt and the sweater:

This is the Purple Coke shirt if you still want to knit something quick and light and airy. I really like the photo on the right, one of my favorite places around here. I'm sure the observant reader has noticed that something like 90% of my shoots have taken place there so far.

At the moment I'm thinking about an alternative location. The next 2-3 shootings are already pending and this time a surprise guest will be in front of the camera. I say only so much: there is still a lot of air for men's designs in the store.

Again digressed. You can find the Purple Coke shirt here as a wool package.

And who would like to have it right now already a little cuddlier, just hit the Purple Coke Sweater. You can find it here as a wool package, the cuddle factor makes ITO Sensai.

Cozy it goes right on. Tanja's designs look great even when not sewn. You can leave it like that, Tanja! But it's already sewn, because the pattern for the ELLA Jumper just went online and you can find the wool package directly in our store. It will be knitted in three strands (!) with Lusso, Mohair Luxe and Nova. All three from Lang Yarns. Three threads will be nice and heavy and Tanjas great strength are fine parts on heavy needles. Here is knitted with 9 and 10mm needles.

The ELLA Jumper is an oversize sweater and is knitted seamlessly top down. Shaped by means of short rows, a sophisticated design in super good fit, as we know it from Tanja aka LOTILDA!

When I put the sleeves of my Cardigan No. 4 the day before yesterday, it was already rumbling in my head again. I had this Lille Elm Solo sweater from Lene Holme Samsøe discovered some time ago and the yarn for it already lie ready.

Then, of course, it had to be needled on. I knit him in the color 4602. The wool package for the Lille Elm Solo sweater is here, the pattern are also available in German!

I had wavered between the Lille Elm sweater and the Ruffle Sweater, which I have also put on the waiting list for the smallest Miss. The pattern are currently only available in English here at A Nordic Knitting Tale and you could knit the Ruffle Sweater from Sandnes Duo (many colors are already back in stock) or two-thread from Sandnes Sunday with Sandnes Silk Mohair.

Another new slipover in the knitting sky: The Terrazo Slipover. Slipovers are yes big trend, you could write a whole Saturday Coffee just about slipovers. I really like this one! We have packed for you the wool package from LAMANA Bergamo and Premia, there you have wonderful colors to choose from.

To the Terrazo Slipover wool package.

I like the fine detail on the sides so much, with the ribbed pattern pulled up. And I like the sleeve opening too. And the turtleneck!!! That's got my fingers suspiciously itching again. Really bad.

Projects for on the side

Projects for on the side are those that still fit into the smallest accessory bag and can be carried inconspicuously everywhere. Simply for the case that a few knitting seconds arise. Do you know.

The project on the side at all are "socks". Socks always go. For many, anyway. I am not yet addicted to the sock fever, but could happen to me with these super simple basic socks from Susanne aka Paula knits. Super simple socks, which you can knit thanks to sock miracle even without double pointed needles! So please excuse me if you are a double pointed needles fan... I just love the Sockenwunder.

The knitting pattern for the basic socks also includes the band from Susanne, so the socks become the perfect Christmas gift. OMG, now I have actually in August already Christmas on the plan... but you know, comes faster than we think and knitting takes time.

If you still don't like knitting socks, here is the second perfect side project: the OSAKA scarf. It's perfect for on the side, can take longer to knit, and fits neatly into the smallest project bag or even accessory bag in its later stages.

There is still a lot of OSAKA scarf love in the Maschenfein community. Currently Sophia and Silke have started a #osakaminiKAL.

The knitting kit for the OSAKA with free color selection can be found here. And as many of you know, we now all knit the OSAKA in rounds. A discovery of Anna Lena, who I think just did not feel like purl stitches. And I am quite honest: in rows my OSAKA would have been finished n-i-e-m-a-l-s.

Insta inspiration of the week

This week's Insta-Inspiration is the account of Lene Holme Samsøe, because I'm just currently so in love with her designs for children, for which there are mostly also pattern in adult size.

Anja has knitted no less than four (!) Anker's Summer Shirts. "First in the light pink from Line, then I had a lot of Tynn Line in gray, because that should be something different. One I then dyed black, very practical And then another in the darker pink, I really like the color right now! Now the rain break was used for photos and when it finally gets cooler, I could also wear them. From the remnants should actually be a striped shirt". Madness Anja, such a hard work!

Uta has finished knitting the Shape Cardigan in the color Sun Valley. It's one of my favorites too, I'm really looking forward to wearing it in the fall! It jumped off Dagmar's needles for Maschenfein some time ago.

Ani has chained the Cambito sweater (Katrin Schneider has renamed her latest model shortly before publication, "Cambio" became "Cambito") and meanwhile sewn the threads, right Ani? She also knitted her version ITO Sensai and ITO Kinu, the anletiung will contain two versions, for both you will find the matching wool package here when they are published.

Ani is also knitting the Millo Cardigan for Miriam test, just like Sibel (right in the picture). The cardigan is knitted from DUO and Tynn Silk Mohair, the wool package will be available here after the tutorial is published.

Lisa (left picture) knits the Yndlingsjakke by Sandnes Yarn from Tynn Line and Silk Mohair. You can find the knitting kit in the store here. "..it's been sooo many weeks since I cast on the beautiful #yndlingsjakke by #sandnes...today I decided to finally make some progress again- I had completely forgotten how good the combo of #sandnessilkmohair and #sandnestynnline feels."

Lina has knitted a wonderfully delicate AVA sh awl, the colors are quite magical and also the back of the shawl are beautiful from, see you with her in the Insta account! "On the weekend I finally managed to stretch my #ava and then sewed all the threads yesterday .
The beautiful design of @sandragroll and the gorgeous yarn of @pascuali_filati_naturali fit perfectly together and I'm seeeeee very happy with my color choice, which this time was not so easy."

Have a great weekend!
