A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein.

We have this week again so really, really many beautiful things found in the knitting net. Nah, time was unfortunately not there... I would need now also ne extra portion, because Sandra has infected me again with a project... forbid me but the Anstricken, before not at least one of the current projects is chained.

Today we introduce you to a brand new designer with several designs, because her Insta profile, which we just stumbled across thanks to Judith, literally jumped out at us. Who can guess why? ..... cough... exactly #teamblau and so:

Photos: Instagram © floetre

The designer behind these beautiful blue pieces (which you can of course also knit in purple, gray, brown, pink, or, or), is called Trine Fløtre, her name on Ravelry is Floetre and she lives in Norway. She has just had many of her pattern translated into English by Judith and is thus beginning to storm the international market.

Photos: © Floetre

This is the "Curvy Cable Sweater", for which you can find the pattern here on Ravelry. It is knit from the top down, with a fine cable detail in the raglan lines. Very simple in rounds. Zack down. Perfectly matches the beautiful combination of ITO Rakuda and Sensai.

Photos: © Floetre

If you are looking for a children's sweater again, you could knit Kornblomst Genser, which is knitted in SANDNES Merinoull with a very simple, but very effective pattern from the bottom up. You can find the pattern for this sweater on Ravelry.

Photos: © Floetre

Matching there is (also knitted from SANDNES Merinoull ) the Kornblomst cap for children and / or adults. The matching vegan pom pom you will of course also find right here in the Maschenfeinshop and the tutorial then on Ravelry.

Photos: Instagram © floetre

Quite current with Trine on the needles is this beautiful sweater with the pretty braid detail. Still without pattern, but can not take long and is now also not as if we have nothing to knit.... haha!

New wool packages in Maschenfeinshop

Matching wool packages for the Floetre designs we have of course also in planning (you ask certainly), but we are not idle. No, no, also in the last week we have added many beautiful novelties to the store.

PHOTOS & COOPERATION: ANKESTRiCK

For example, there is the brand new design TUNE by ANKESTRiCK also as a wool package here at Maschenfein. You can find the pattern for this top/dress on Ravelry. It is knitted seamless top down. Eh clear!

No new wool package, but there are new pictures at the good old Sunday Sweater:

Photos: © maschenfein

Because you have asked over and over again about my yarn combination, we have adjusted the pictures in the wool kit, because of course my Sunday Sweater was made exactly according to our wool kit from Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair! And which colors I used, we also noted for you in the color selection in the kit.

If you want to knit the Sunday Sweater without mohair, you can use Snefnug! Mette aka Petite Knit herself even gives the exact quantities on Ravelry. You can find that here at the tutorial at Ravelry

We have been busy working on the wool packs for the Petite Knit designs and have added a lot:

PHOTOS & Cooperation: Petite Knit

New is the Caramel Sweater from PetiteKnit, which also makes again a terrible have-wanted feeling. The matching wool package is here with us at Maschenfein and the tutorial here on Ravelry also in German.

PHOTOS & Cooperation: Petite Knit

You had also wished for a wool package for the Louisiana Sweater. Tadaaa!! Here it is: Wool package Louisiana Sweater and here are the pattern on Ravelry.

So now you should be supplied with cozy sweaters for now, right?

On the ears

The other day I wrote that I hadn't read a book in years, and I couldn't keep up with audiobooks either. That is so. But last week I ran across (unpaid advertising) the Spiegel bestseller "The Uninhabitable Earth". In book form. And even though I couldn't knit while reading it, I opened it and almost didn't close it... it completely captivated me until late at night. And the best part is: You can listen to it too...

Your questions on Instagram

You had a few questions on Instagram again yesterday! I'm happy about it and pick me again this week a few out. Do not be angry, everything I do not manage... but here comes a few background info:

"How to manage your projects - project books?"

So: who likes it digitally, can do this of course hervorrand via Ravelry. I have some of my latest (and the very old) projects listed there, but long not everything, because I honestly then but always forget. I had the intention to upload everything there retroactively... but I just don't get around to it. It's nice and easy and very practical, because you can access it at any time and remember things like color numbers and lots.

If you prefer to work analog with pen and paper, you can write down projects in the "Knitting Notes" journal from Laine. Or you can use our Maschenfeines notebook.

"I would be interested in knowing what alternatives there are for the Kolding scarf"

You can find the Kolding scarf from ChrisBerlin on Ravelry and you could knit it super from Milano+Premia or Alpakka Silke or Merino 150 or Cashmere 6/28.

"How much is your knitting record in one day? Measured in rows, balls, km, stitches".

I really never never count stitches, meters or anything like that. I remember knitting one of my patchwork shawls in three days. It was a gift... But at the moment it's more like single rows per day.

"Twig and horn needle pocket for short tips? Iiiirgendwaann or rather not?"

Unfortunately not... they were taken out of the range at the manufacturer. Whether they come in again, I do not know at the moment.

Maschenfein Knitting round on Instagram

As always, we took a spin on Instagram and browsed your projects under the hashtags #maschenfein #maschenfeinstrickrunde.

There are beautiful Luna cloths to admire from Lena and Silvia. Click here for the kit shawl Luna. Both knit from Rowan Sultano Fine. If you like, you can find the pattern only as PDF or have a look at our alternative kit: Luna from SANDNES (Tynn Line and Tynn Silk Mohair).

Shawls always go and Hinata anyway: On the left a finished Hinata from "eine Tüte Wolle". The pattern are in my very first book knitting shawls. And on the right a design from my second shawl book. Lina is working off Ufos (very exemplary) and knitting Lera from the book Noch meTücherwls knicken fertig.

Never-Ending Osaka Run: Everybody loves Osaka. It's unbelievable how many Osakas are floating around on Instagram and around the world... and more are added every day! See Mary and Silke's color combinations above.

Photos: left © and right ©

Accessories love also exists on Instagram: Left, a gathering of beauties from Krisitn. Our, let's call it gaaaaaanz modest bible, hehe, for knitters: Knitting the Encyclopedia. Plus a Mikawa Momen bag, a Namaste Buddy Case in ecru and THE needle bag in wool from Twig & Horn with pin "Knit". Mega basket!

Right of Sibel: The Namaste Buddy Case with the obligatory mini scissors from Cohana. The Buddy Case was last week the big hit here at Maschenfein, after I have probably slightly infected you in my Instastories, cough.

Photos: left © sandragroll and right © not completely wrinkle free

And then there is some CaMaRose Snefnug to see. Sandra is busy knitting samples, uh, no idea what for, and Tina has chosen a wonderful color combination for the Over the Edge scarf....

Have a great weekend!

A wonderful good morning to Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein and some thoughts on your questions last night on Instagram, when I needed some help to get my writing flow going. In the meantime, it's actually also become a ritual for me to let myself be sprinkled with soft piano music from the Feel Good Piano playlist on Spotify while writing Saturday coffee. Real trigger for me to get into writing. You know. When certain tunes put you in the same state of mind over and over again? I'm sure you do. What also helps me a lot to get into my Saturday coffee flow is to write it in my favorite coffee house, which I don't do too often, though, because working on the laptop for hours in the coffee shop then somehow also becomes unpleasant for me, despite more than sufficient compensation consumption. Today I'm sitting in my favorite chair at home and enjoy the evening silence, in which you could also knit great... But head knitting is also great, so let's get started, we have again found a few nice things for you on the net:

1) Maschenfein net talk

Photos: © goodwitchknits

I was totally thrilled by Jillian's cardigan "Earthen" after a tutorial by Amy Christoffers, which we discovered on Instagram. She knitted the cardigan in FibreCo Luma, so it's perfect for the rising temperatures or just for spring, when the cardigan could possibly be finished if it were cast on now. Luma is a beautiful, summery yarn made of virgin wool, cotton, linen and silk, my favorite is the color Aizome.

The tutorial for the cardigan was written by Amy Christophers for PomPom Magazine last summer. You can find them individually here on Ravelry and you can also still see all the designs from PomPom Magazine 29 Summer 2019 here.

Jillian, who you can see in the photos above, talks very entertainingly about the Cadigan on her YouTube channel and especially about how she managed to go from 20 work-in-progress projects to 8. So first of all, an enormous weight has fallen off my shoulders, because I don't have THAT many unfinished projects on my needles then. So I can still sit back and relax. Haha!!! And honestly, after her YouTube podcast I could hit Earthen a-u-f-d-e-r-s-t-e-l-l-e... She also shows in her video this cardigan from Helga Isager, which is actually so not my style at all, but when I see it on Jillian's needles.....

If you also have some unfinished projects lying around and want to satisfy your conscience a bit more, also check out this video by Jillian, in which she shows viiiiiany unfinished parts. Wonderfully liberating.

Photos: left © camillabeate73 and right © myfavouritethings-knitwear.com

Accurate reader notice: we already had this one last week!!! But without the beautiful Instagram photo of Camilla on the left, which creates this really bad have-to-have feeling - that's why we included it again, hehe, mean, I know. It's Sweater No. 8 ( you can find the pattern on the website here) and Camilla knitted it out of SANDNES Silk Mohair in the photo above left. I just love it so much.

Saturday Coffee Net Whisper 2020
Photos: © Gregoria Fibers

The Tove Sweater from Gregoria Fibers is also really nice. You can find the pattern for it here on Ravelry. You could knit it with Rowan Kidsilk Haze or SANDNES Tynn Silk Mohair.

Photos: © Abby Johnson-Ruscansky

Anne aka Trin-Annelie has just released her winterwork collection and among them you will also find the sweater Rowe. The tutorial to Rowe is here on Ravelry and you could super from Rowan Cotton Cashmere, a wonderful blend of 85% cotton with 15% cashmere, which is available in all desired colors.

Photos: © Julie Hoover

I love, love, love Julie Hoover's Instagram account, I think I've raved about her house before in one of the Saturday coffees. So from what you see on Instagram, it's not that much and it's always wonderfully tidy... check it out here, here and here. Julie has released a collection of Shibui Knits. Unfortunately, most qualities of Shibui are currently only available in very limited quantities at the German wholesaler. And when the colors are out, you always have to wait an awfully long time, so I just couldn't bring myself to pick up the yarns yet, as we have alternatives that are just better available.

The sweater flower on the pictures above comes in two variants - with and without arm. You can find the pattern here on Ravelry and could knit it super from ITO Washi and Shio or ITO Washi and Urugami or with fleece LAMANA Modena and Premia. The other beautiful designs you can find here at Julie.

Photo: © Neringa Ruke

We discovered a brand new account on Instagram, namely the one of Neringa Ruke from Lithuania and she really makes very cool designs. Above on the two pictures she wears the Fishbone Chunky Sweater, which you could knit from CaMaRose Snefnug. You can find the pattern here on Ravelry.

Photo: © Neringa Ruke

I also think her Cherry Blossom Cardigan is cool, which you could knit either 3-thread from Rowan Kidsilk Haze or (also 3-thread) from SANDNES Tynn Silk Mohair. You can find the pattern here on Ravelry.

Photo: © Neringa Ruke

And then there's her boxy V-neck sweater, for which you can find the pattern here. You could also knit it from CaMaRose Snefnug.

2) New and up to date in the Maschenfein store

We have a few new kits in the store. First important, important (!) The Luna cloth variant in the alternative yarn:

Photo: © Maschenfein

Luna was my spontaneous project before Christmas, knitted from the super beautiful yarn "Sulanto Fine". But because the original knitting kit has a very high price, we had an alternative up our sleeves(click here for the alternative kit). Dagmar has already test knitted this shawl from Tynn Line and Tynn Silk Mohair and lent it to me for the shooting, so that I can also show you the beautiful alternative here. The Luna shawl starts at one point and is knit from there with increases on both sides and decreases along the line running through the shawl to the deepest point. From here, the increases on one side are left out, forming the second half of the shawl. You can find the original Luna kit here and this alternative shown above here.

Photo: © Blue Sky Fibers

Because you always like to ask for beautiful designs for men, I am especially happy about this really beautiful scarf called "Roscoe", knitted from the terrific Eco-Cashmere from Blue Sky Fibers. We have the wool package to the scarf "Roscoe" here in the store and guarantee great wearing (and knitting) joy! There is not a huge color palette of this yarn, but you don't need to. The color shown is "Silver Bell", which we also have enough in stock.

Photo: © Blue Sky Fibers

The same yarn, so Eco-Cashmere, is also used to knit this hat called "Hanley Falls Hat". Also a tutorial from Blue Sky Fibers and we have the matching wool package here in the store.

3) On the ears

Fresh on my ears for the second time was the episode "How to make the right decisions, Alexandra Reinwarth" from the Finally Om Podcast. Because it already touched me very deeply the first time. So deeply that I couldn't finish listening to it. And because since then I sometimes ask myself on which day of the year my surviving relatives will think of me later on...

4) What you ask on Instagram...

... "today the Louisiana Sweater by Petite Knit was released in German, do you have the wool package ready yet?" The wool package we have not (yet) managed, but you can find the quantities on the pattern page(click) and the yarn Børstet Alpakka here with us in all desired colors.

.... "is there ever an update about new accessories?"Urgs, I can not make it today, yawn. But good idea, I take it for very soon!

... "will you include the new Pascuali Balayage yarn in your range?" Ha, we are faster than lightning: we already have it online!!! Click here for the yarn "Balayage" and all the beautiful colors and the detailed description of the yarn!

... "how to compensate for all the knitting time with exercise or how you do it in the team." Not at all. Haha! But all joking aside, we still have small children and are therefore constantly on the move anyway. So knitting is the relaxing balance.

... "make times a historical Maschenfein (Engelenchen) review."Incredibly how long you read here already partly! What do you want to know exactly?

4) Maschenfein Knitting round on Instagram

In any case, you are also as always busy knitting. First and foremost still the never-ending Margaretas-Mama-Flow.

Photos: left © diy_by_steppi and right © schneiderlemkek

On the left just struck and on the right at Kathrin already finished and worn with contrast tassels, mega!!!! The tutorial for Margaretas Mama is of course also available separately and here you can find the kit Margaretas Mama

Photos: © left claudia.koe and © right sigrun.koenig

And daily greetings on Instagram at least one Osaka, knitted from the most wonderful mohair yarn ITO Sensai. On the left Osaka from Claudia, who has reached the last color (you have it good :)) and on the right from Sigrun, who has just started and can look forward to many more Osaka meters.

Photos: © left diy_by_steppi and © right maschenbilder

And we're celebrating a few more finished projects! On the left, the Sunday Sweater by PetiteKnit knit from my very favorite Sunday Sweater combo SANDNES Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair, as I also wear it. You can find the kit here at Maschenfein.

And on the right, Barbara' s Boyfriends Cardigan by ChrisBerlin from Lamana Bergamo, which you can find the kit for here at Maschenfein.

Have a great weekend!

Here we are again with our on the needles series! A little late, I had to first come in this year and you have already asked so numerous that I'm really happy to start here again and show what is with me so on the needles. That is because so much!

Photo: © Maschenfein - at the bottom the September Jakke, in the middle the over the edge scarf and on top the Pico-Fino scarf

I have three "active" projects on the needles. The Pico Fino shawl based on Sandra's design, knit from Alpaca Fin o at the top. I really love Alpaca Fino because it really knits away like butter. I have knitted just under half of the yarn and realized that I desperately want a new winder. I used to have a very nice one that has since given up the ghost. Now I wrap with the very, very effective (but not really pretty) Knit-Pro winder, which also serves me really faithfully and always winds good balls. It also has an unbeatable price-performance ratio. But because I really damn much winding, is quasi with my profession, I have now treated myself to a very, very nice winder. I'll show you soon, as soon as he arrived here. For the "normal" consumption is the simple Knit Pro winder but really great class, even if he is not really pretty.

Photo: © Maschenfein - Pico Fino cloth

Oh, speaking of practical, but not pretty: Indispensable for me in daily use have also become these needle protectors from Knit Pro. Oh dear... Knit Pro doesn't come off so well here in terms of "beauty", I notice... Well, you put the needles in these black caps on the aluminum tubes and they are perfectly protected from any child or spouse playing around or simply in the pocket or the sofa seat. Nothing more breaks, promised! Great recommendation.

Photo: © Maschenfein - Over the edge scarf

The second active project on my needles is the over the edge scarf from a tutorial by ChrisBerlin. I'm already very much in love and looking forward like hell to the fringes. My scarf is getting a-u-f-j-e-d-e-n-f-a-l-l fringes! They are the bomb, honestly. I really, really like the Snefnug yarn and even though Stjernestøv, the glitter yarn that divides the different brioche sections has a poly content (glitter that is), I really wanted it to be there when I saw the scarf in the original at Chris'. Because it gives the scarf that certain something.

Photo: © Maschenfein - September Jakke

The third project, which by the way also slips like butter, is the September Jakke after a tutorial from Petite Knit. It is knitted in three strands with two strands of Tynn Silk Mohair and one skein of Sunday. The dark blue is just beautiful and I can't wait to wear the jacket together with the scarf above. The two parts fit together perfectly.

And what do you have on the needles?

"On the needles" is a series by Maschenfein. What are you knitting in January? What has become of your last projects? Will you tell us here? We are looking forward to it! Just comment here under this post or link up in the links section. On Instagram we use the hashtag #ontheneedles

You can link yourself for the whole month! Attention: You must set a backlink to this post or blog in your post, otherwise it will not work with the link tool. A backlink is nothing more than a link to this blog :)!

Are you visiting here for the first time? Every month we collect knitting projects that are linked here in the respective blog posts on "Auf den Nadeln". You can find all past collections to browse in the On the Needles section.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

A wonderful good morning to the first Saturday coffee in the new year! We wish you a wonderful year 2020 with lots of meters to knit and cozy hours. Saturday Coffee is entering its seventh (!) year. Isn't that incredible? The actual idea for the Saturday Coffee comes from a "link party" that was started by another blog, which has not existed for a long time. In a link party - as in our "On the needles" - many, many blogs on a topic participate and then link accordingly in the original blog. And so there is my Samstagskaffee with the beautiful net whisper meanwhile since 2013, started on my old blog and with moved here to Maschenfein. The fact that I have lasted so long (there were really dry spells, believe me), has not least to do with the fact that you like to read it so much and that my fine ladies here in the background have encouraged me so much, even in the most difficult times, when I actually no longer had time to write. In fact, you like it so much that there have been angry words on Instagram when an episode appeared in the afternoon instead of the usual early morning. Urgs. But I take that as a compliment. Honestly! I'm glad that you enjoy reading our weekly inspirations from the world of knitting so much, and so of course there will be our one and only weekly Saturday coffee with lots of knitting net talk for you again this year.

Let's go!

We have many, new, beautiful wool packages in the store. In fact, two beautiful designs from Susanne aka Paulastrickt. The good old Leo hat, which was already a big hit last year. Now we have the matching yarn in the store and therefore of course the perfect wool package for you. By the way, one of my favorite hats currently (the red one, maybe you've seen it in my Instastories before) is the hat Sarah from Susanne. Mine still has a bobble.

Photos: © Paula knits - cap Leo

The hat "Leo" is knitted in rounds. For a particularly beautiful cast-on edge, start with the Italian cast-on. How it works, by the way, I have already recorded some time ago here on YouTube for you. Sounds worse than it is, I promise! After the plain ribbed cuff follows the two-color leo pattern, which also gave the hat its name. So get on the needles, the beanie weather is guaranteed to come back soon.

Photos: © Paula knits - Robin Sweater

The Robin sweater has also done it to us very much. So simple and yet that certain something with wide bat sleeves. The sweater is knitted seamlessly top down. Starting with the collar in the rib pattern in rounds, then moving on to the neckline, which is shaped using short rows. For our wool package, we've chosen Sunday by Sandnes that you'll be knitting in two strands for this sweater. Haha! I just had to laugh out loud while writing, because my auto-correct always turns "two-threaded" into "two-handed"... yes, so you should knit two-handed, of course, in principle, if possible....

One of the next projects Ruth is currently knitting for Maschenfein will be this great "Nowthen Wrap" stole.

Photos: © Blue Sky Fibers

The Nowthen Wrap, a cozy scarf in hole, rib and cable patterns, is knitted from the fine Eco-Cashmere from Blue Sky Fibers, which we have always had in smaller quantities in the store for some time. We can always and very quickly order supplies, if your favorite color should be out of stock.

Photos: © myfavouritethings-knitwear.com

In the big, wide knitting net we found two great pieces from My favourite things Knitwear. Sweater No. 1, for which you can find the pattern here on the website, you could knit from Rowan Kidsilk Haze or SANDNES Tynn Silk Mohair. It has these puffy sleeves and the style reminds me of the Holiday Sweater.

Photos: © myfavouritethings-knitwear.com

The Sweater No. 8 ( you can find the pattern here on the website) you can knit with two yarns (and two hands, haha!) from SANDNES Sunday. Attention: the gauge is given in rib pattern!

Great events cast their shadows ahead!!!

The new project from Laine will be released on February 14 and is already causing quite a stir on Instagram: 52 Weeks of Socks! From February 3 you can pre-order the book here with us and then quite on time for Valentine's Day in your hands. However, we are not allowed to start the pre-sale until February 3, so you have to be patient a bit longer, but you can be sure to get the book from us.

Photos: © laine_magazine (Instagram)

"52 Weeks of Socks", an English language book, contains 52 knitting pattern from 46 designers on over 250 pages and is described by Laine himself as a beautiful sock encyclopedia. And I'm sure we'll have a book in our hands with the usual beautiful Laine-style photography, in beautiful hardback. There are also a few glimpses here at Laine itself.

When knitting on the ears

I love listening to podcasts. Unfortunately, my attention span, which has almost completely dwindled over the years and due to four children (but I am the multitasking queen herself), makes listening to longer audio books unpleasant. Have started numerous and never finished. But podcasts. That works! Fresh on my ears was the podcast "Fresh to Work" with lawyer Nora Markard. Nora Markard is a junior professor of international law and public law at the University of Hamburg and the conversation really impressed me because it is so authentic, honest and open. And maybe also because it reminded me a tiny bit of my former "self". And because it is fascinating and at the same time relieving to hear such a successful woman also talk about self-doubt, keyword "impostor syndrome", which she also talks about. I know... not really in my current phase of life (no time for self-doubt, haha), but in the past... oh yes! Do you know it too?

#maschenfeinstrickrunde on Instagram

Of course, there is a lot going on on Instagram, because a lot of knitting was done over the vacations. Numerous Margaretas Mama Christmas boxes have arrived and are on the needles. The complete knitting kit for Margaret's Mama will continue to be available from us, and we also have a few of the matching boxes in stock again. And because these have been so well received by you, we are already thinking ahead. Because the topic of packaging is a big one this year anyway. If possible, we would like to be able to do without tape in the long term, which is not yet possible with this box. And actually, yes, in the long term it should also be possible to replace the shipping labels. Because these also "pollute" the paper waste that is inevitably produced during shipping.

Photos: left © lillepige14 and right © karos.knits

But back to Margaret's mama. Here are beautiful color combinations arrived at lillepige and Karolin. We love how happy you are about the contents of our boxes! But it also looks like knitting on, don't you think?

Photos: © left bluebell4004 and © right zerhusenanja

Sylvia (left) knits in a race. A parallel project of mom and daughter, who will be faster? Anja (on the right in the picture) has pinned on classic gray, with matching stitch marker. but of course she is already much further. At least that far.

Photos: left © schnieslii and right © munichstitches

In this weather is also great gauntlets love. On the left, Lisa is knitting the Nissa gauntlets, which also come with the matching Nissa shawl. And on the right Birgit knits the wrist warmers from the basics book

Photos: left © emlule28 and right © weltandrea

And then there were some finished OSAKAS and OSAKA knitting kits under the tree for Christmas. On the left once in work at emlule28 and on the right finished at Andrea! Congratulations! Real hard work. The knitting kit for the Osaka scarf can be found here .

Photos: left © mrsfunnyvalentine and right © munichstitches

And another round of knitting for children. On the left Miriam has just knitted the magical Blueberry Blouse by Pernille Larsen in Alpakka Ull. And on the right, Brigit (who, by the way, also has a considerable project output) has chained down a Seaside Sweater knitted according to Petite Knit's pattern in Saffira by Pascuali. Also a super yarn choice by the way! We have the Seaside Sweater with the yarn Sunday as a wool package in the store.

Photos: left © dagmar_0908 and right © gardenhouse101

Last but not least two pictures: Dagmar is wearing the Klovergenser (shamrock sweater), knitted from SANDNES Tynn Silk Mohair and Babyull Lanett. Beautiful! And Sylvia is wearing Birga from our book Hygge feel-good knitting and an Easydreieck scarf to go with it. Also so great!!!

Have a great weekend!
