Welcome to the very first Saturday coffee and net talk on our new site! What an exciting last few weeks we've had. And especially for the last few days. Every time the relaunch was within reach, a hurdle appeared. But we have met every challenge.

So here you can see the new Maschenfein, which we have already shown you bit by bit in the newsletter or on Instagram. But the good old website still remains the heart of our maschenfein world. The anchor, so to speak. And we have polished it properly and made it shine. How do you like it?

Our new site has even made it onto television. Namely in the program zipp of the RBB. Last week, a small team was Marisa's guest and was taken into the world of knitting. By the way, the Oscar for the best supporting actor goes to Sandra's felt slippers, which she sent to Berlin beforehand so that Marisa could show them. Here you can find the contribution.

The "relaxed knitter

And speaking of Oscar and glamour: At our second knitting meeting, Maschenfein was mentioned in the same breath as pop star Robbie Williams. One of the knitters said she was as excited as she had been at a meet & greet with Robbie Williams. That was a kind of accolade for Maschenfein. And a great honor on top of that. And we were at least as happy to see you as the other way around!

Very popular right now: the Snefnug by CaMaRose, shown here with beanie no. 2 by Rosa P.

.

We're also really happy when you tell us what you've been knitting because we recommended it to you. "Now I had to try the Snefnug, too." "Of course, I also knitted a Hinata shawl." "I finally finished my Osaka." Honestly, sentences like that are music to our ears! And that's why, of course, there are designs for inspiration for you again this Saturday Coffee. So that the head cinema comes on and then the needles continue to rattle. Because as one participant put it so well, "Knitting is my yoga." So hop on the mat! We are now doing the "relaxed knitter".

The Snefnug is a must

In yoga, yes, it is important to have warm feet. And I would say that warm ears are also important. Goes great with cap No. 2 of Rosa P. We have created fresh for you in the knitting kits. In it you will find the Snefnug from CaMaRose. This will probably remain one of our favorite yarns in 2021... Although next week something else from the CaMaRose family will move in with us. Look forward to Midnatssol and many great colors!

Winter knitwear from Denmark

Who in view of the weather forecast still has the need for winter knitwear (there fall such terms as "winter onset" or - even worse - "freezing rain"): For him, of course, I also have something! At the Danish designer Mille Fryd Knitwear you will find for example theStay Hot SweaterThe boxy oversize model is knitted stockinette stitch top down. The yarn combination of Cashmere Premium and Lace from Lang Yarns can also be found in our store.

If you want to knit something for children, you will also find something at Mille Fryd: You could for example knit theKiddo SnoodYou can knit the Cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns, too. Let your child choose a color - the selection is big enough! By the way, Lang Yarns published an interview with Mille Fryd Knitwear on YouTube yesterday. In it, she talks about how she got into knitting, where she gets her inspiration from, and what knitting technique she's currently practicing. Just take a look here.

Noble collar for big

A collar for adults is available from Anne Ventzel, among others. The Cable Cowl was also a topic at one of our knitting meetings and is a noble companion for cool days. You can knit different variations, depending on the yarn weight the size of the cowl varies. As possible combinations we could imagine - as with Mille Fryd's sweater - Cashmere Premium and Lace by Lang. Duo and Tynn Silk Mohair would also be possible. You could also vary the collar. Either knit it long enough to double up, or knit it shorter and wear it as a simple stand-up collar. Both are chic!

Anyone looking for a challenge?

For those who feel more like spring, the - admittedly challenging - free tutorial of the month from SANDNES would be something. The flower jacket is a classic Steek project. In other words, you'll have to cut it open at the end. My colleague Jule (who is permanently employed with us since February and takes care of our backend! <3) said the other day that already the sound of the scissors is scary, but it's worth it.

Anyone looking for a knitting challenge: This jacket would be a (nice!
)Photo: © SANDNES

The jacket is knitted in separate pieces: The front and back parts are knitted together (starting from the bottom) and then separately, and the sleeves are knitted separately (they are sewn in at the end). Knitting is done with the Sisu. If you don't like the nylon content, you can use the alternatives mentioned by SANDNES, such as Alpakka Silke or Tynn Merinoull. Just note the sometimes different running lengths.

Spring knit

For a few weeks I have also the SweaterCharles VNeckby Joji Locatelli "on stock" lie. Today I finally show it to you: First of all, the design is a beautiful declaration of love. The sweater is named after Joji's husband. And then it is a wonderful unisex model that suits everyone. It is the perfect everyday companion, knitted from the top down with a V-neck.

When it comes to the yarn, we've thought about something: If you want a summery version, you could double-knit Koan by Shibui or also Sparrow by Quince & Co. each. If you like it fluffy, you can knit Willet from Quince & Co. together with Premia from LAMANA.

Spring fever also comes with the shortened sweater Trascao . This design is also knitted in rounds top down. For the yarn, we suggest Cotton Cashmere from Rowan - or "cotton kisses cashmere and there's a happy ending". Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, so to speak. Choose for yourself which of the two may play cashmere 😉 By the way, the pattern for the sweater are also available in German.

As the last design for today I found these cute dungarees for little robbers. You knit from the bottom up, the legs first individually and then the torso in rounds. As yarn is given the Sunday of SANDNES. Here, too, the color palette is really big and the yarn itself is pleasantly soft.

Fresh in the store

In the store you will also find other new knitting kits, such as the shopper Sher by Pascuali (the booklet for the new collection can be found here), the hat by Minuk or our new addition to the accessories: the sock ruler by Lovafur. Take your time to browse through them!

Maschenfein knitting round

Of course, as always, you can also browse super on Instagram! In our #maschenfeinstrickrunde you can see what the other knitting crazy so on the needles or just finished.

At Claudia, for example, you can see this mad sweater. Actually intended for Christmas 2020, he is "only" finished in January. But not at all bad - we also celebrate Christmas in 2021. Sigrid finished a Kolding (with the yarn alternative Premium Cashmere by Regia) and probably wears it while reading, it's so cozy.

Anja knits the - I think it was last week - featured Ribbed Jumper by Anne Ventzel. Phew, maybe I need one for next winter, too. And at Christin 's you can see a real classic. The Hinata scarf! A must have!

And now we hope you enjoy browsing through the site. Tell us how you like it and also if you notice a mistake or something is missing. Have a nice weekend and have fun looking and knitting!

Two more months 2020! Or also: We have November (a month, by the way, I like very much!). So it's also time again for "On the needles". We'll tell you what we're knitting right now and of course you're welcome to share what you're working on under this post. On Instagram just use the hashtag #aufdennadelnnovember. Or you can show your (started) works in our Facebook group. Either way, we're just knitting away all the worries and negative thoughts as best we can. Oh, and as a little extra we have thought of a nice action for you, of which we already tell you a little detail below.

Maschenfein in accessories fever

Even if the mild temperatures don't suggest it right now - it's definitely autumn. And what belongs in autumn? Beanies of course! Sandra knows that too and has therefore chosen cap Ole from Paula-m.

Ole according to an pattern by Paula-m with double folded cuff, knitted from cashmere 6/28 in half brioche. Who knows me, knows how much I love (half) brioche and so Ole has me to my next project quasi angefixt

Sandra Groll

Depending on the circumference of your head and whether you want to work the cuff twice or not, you will need two to four balls of cashmere yarn. Alternatively, you can also knit the combination Merida and Premia from LAMANA. Depending on the size, you will need one to two balls of Merida and one ball of Premia (by the way, one of my favorites when it comes to silk-mohair yarns).

Jule also knits something for the head - her own design: the headband Vicky. Such a piece is ideal for anyone who wants to practice knitting cable patterns. With two balls of Bergamo, it's also quickly finished. Do I hear the word "Christmas gift"? I think so...

Rope for the neck

Let's move down the body a bit. What's there? The neck. And of course it has to be knitted in, cold protection and all. Sophia takes the subject seriously and therefore knits two loops. Better safe than sorry! One of them is simply a long-term project. You know: the Osaka in rounds.

The Osaka is knitted from ITO's Sensai, also a wonderful silk-mohair yarn with an insanely beautiful color palette. Especially now, when the stress may increase again, it is a super knitting project where you just do not have to think.

Slightly more elaborate, but really also suitable for beginners, is the loop "Encadré" by Julie Hoover. We already presented it to you in detail a few weeks ago in Saturday Coffee. In the knitting kit we have packed the Cashmere Lace by Pascuali, but you can also - like Sophia - take the Milano by LAMANA. Whatever you decide, the loop is suitable for all who want to dare to knit multicolored, but for whom a whole sweater or cardigan is still too much.

Sophia knits the loop a little smaller (three balls of main color, one ball of contrast color). If you want to get to the original size, we recommend you to take five balls in the main color and two in the contrast color. This way you should have enough left over after the loop to knit the cuffs from our basic book "Stitch by Stitch".

Warm feet

At Marisa's house, slippers are knittedPhoto

As is well known, the feet are located at the very bottom of the body. And they also want to be wrapped up warmly. How about a wonderful pair of felted slippers?

Marisa knits cute felt slippers from SANDNES fritids yarn for the young man in the house. The construction is quite interesting (and not only because Marisa knitted according to the Norwegian pattern). You have now really got the desire to felt? Then stay tuned! We have thought up a great action for you. You'll find out more this week! But you can already start the slippers 😉 And choose your favorite color at the Fritidsgarn.

To provide a little variety in the daily knitting routine, Sandra has also chosen a design from one of the Laine magazines. I just say: Laine, design by Kathrin Schneider, brioche knit, Alpaca Fino. Finished is a favorite project. In blue, of course! Or as Sandra herself said, "It's good for the soul!"
