A wonderful good morning to Saturday Coffee with some lovely links from the knitting world!

Saturday Coffee 72 Blog

I finally got myself the Whippet pattern from Ankestrick and have also already bought the matching yarn - it's the gorgeous Milano from Lamana in antique pink. Milano is currently also on my needles for the shawl #streifenhörnchen on the picture and I love it very much. I was a bit skeptical at first because it has such a looooong run. But it's really just beautiful and knits up great. I learned once again: needles have to fit the yarn. I'm knitting Milano with my lace needles from my Long Lace Set, because it just didn't slip on bamboo and olive. I recently told you that I'm only now really understanding the advantage of different needle materials. With Milano, the scales have fallen from my eyes once again.

The Lace lace I have by the way also individually for you in the store, if you want to try it. Then you only need a rope from the click system, which are also available individually.

My stitch test for Whippet gave the needle sizes from 2 to 3.5mm for the different parts. But the interchangeable tips only start at 3.5mm (below that, the needle tip would be too thin for the connection). So needles were needed (unbelievable, but true). I decided on fine knitting needles from Addi and ordered them in the appropriate sizes and tested them for swatches. They are totally great and I think Whippet will be fun, I am equipped!

I already have Kerstin on board, who knits Whippet with me. When we really start, I'll let you know, maybe one or the other also wants to do it? Maybe Carina, who first gave me the tip about Whippet? But I have to warn you: Kerstin knits such a project easily in two weeks, her spring waffle shawl is almost finished, too! For me it could take until fall. Depending on what else needs to be knitted in between. But a little pressure never hurts!

Eh the month is over, it is worth once again to go rummage on the needles May. There you will find, for example, the finished summer jacket from Tanja, of which I have recently already told. Or the idea for a crocheted blanket with portrait as a wedding gift!

In my Maschenfein :: Facebook group I recently started a small survey, what is so favorite and most knitted. Place 1: Shawls & scarves. Place 2: Socks. Place 3 and 4: Cardigans and sweaters and only then come hats and other. Sure, scarves and shawls can never have enough and are also grateful projects. And socks can be knitted down just quickly.

So far I'm not addicted to the sock virus, but I have times a few beautiful tutorials for socks searched and found: How about the Foxy Sox with cute foxes? Or the Pixel Stitch Socks? I also like the Arrow Socks and the Ice Magic Socks.

Well... if Milano and Whippet were not waiting for me now....

Have a great weekend!
