A wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world and around Maschenfein.

Right at the beginning: we are really flabbergasted! You have almost paralyzed the store the day before yesterday at the launch of our Mother's Day Mystery Knit-Along Knitting Kit. So lame that we could hardly work in the backend and in our Facebook round the appropriate hashtag #HysterieKAL was already created, haha! We're totally blown away that you like our idea so much and are doing our very best to answer all emails and keep the Milano stock up! We're doing just fine, don't worry! What is it about?

We told you earlier this week in our Insta-Stories about our new knit-fine action: A Knit Along for Mother's Day. Knitted is a scarf, in your desired colors, which should be ready in time for Mother's Day. So you'll have a wonderful gift for your mom, grandma, yourself, or even a dear friend you've always wanted to tell how great she is at her mom job. "Mystery" is this Knit Along because you don't know yet what this shawl will look like. The tutorial parts will be released little by little, until the shawl will be stretched really neatly at the end and then given away. How it all works I'll write you at the beginning of the week in a blogpost. It will be pinned on the 15th of April, you can participate at any time, all orders that arrive until the middle of the week should hopefully be on your doorstep in time. You can find the knitting kit here.

But of course, with all the Knit Along excitement, we've prepared our Saturday Net Talk for you anyway.

Inspirations from the net

We came across the McClellan sweater by Kitty Buch on Ravelry. It is knitted from the bottom up, front and back are then worked separately under the armpits further, at the shoulders connecting sewn together, until then the sleeves are worked in rounds.

The tutorial is available on Ravelry (in English) and super fit would the combination ITO Kinu and ITO Sensai.

Mega beautiful is also the Olive Leaf Sweater by Ririko, with a gauzy pattern on the arms and around the bottom of the sweater. It is worked from the top down, seamless, with a saddle shoulder construction. The tutorial is available on Ravelry (in English and urgs Japanese) and we recommend you Pascuali Bayak or Sandnes Tynn Alpakka Ull.

Here's a very simple piece, the Plain Cardigan, a brand new design by Veera Välimäki that you can find here on Ravelry. Also worked from the top down. Our yarn recommendation: Lamana Bergamo or Sandnes Mini Alpakka knitted together with Sandnes Tynn Silk Mohair.

Also very simple, but with that certain "something" ino the form of a special collar construction, is the Tuileries sweater from Julie Knits In Paris, for which you can find the pattern here. You could knit it from Pascuali Bayak , for example.

Euclid by Isabell Kraemer is already a few weeks old, the tutorial is here on Ravelry. For Euclid you can use Rowan Cotton Cashmere great, which is now also available here in our store, we are happy about it every day and it is a mega nice yarn also for the warmer times.

Here is the Downtown Cardigan by Stephanie Jessica Lau in the pop-in color "peach" for which there are pattern on Ravelry. Just knit thoughtlessly curly. Wonderful! And even with heavy needles. Matching we have in the store Sandnes Easy, there is not exactly this color, but "Nude" could also please me.

Due to a recent customer request, here is the Amazing Seed Stitch Wrap from Purl Soho. The pattern are also available on Ravelry. We recommend from the Shos Sandnes Alpakka Ull, which is available in a wonderful variety of colors.

Make-me-take-me sustainability campaign

At the h+h trade fair last weekend, the initiative Handarbeit launched the campaign "Make me take me - Sustainability selbst machen". The goal of this action is to make 10,000 plastic-free shopping bags. They can be sewn, crocheted or knitted, all pattern and information can be found on the action page.

You will also find the free knitting pattern and the free croinstructionsttern. Matching yarn is of course also available here: Line from Sandnes Yarn or Ica from LAMANA both fit great.

So that your knitted or crocheted (or sewn) bags can be included in the campaign, simply order the numbered labels from the Initiative Handarbeit, completely free of charge.

Maschenfein Knitting round on Instagram

There's a lot going on in the Maschenfein community on Instagram. Lina knitted the Winter Fur Cardigan, but not in the Bayak version as we have it in the store, but with Lang Merino 150. It turned out great! The Maschenfein mug on the far right of the picture also keeps popping up, I'm very happy about that!

Silvia has knitted a #halbgeheimfürmaschenfein from Lamana Milano. No, but has nothing to do with the #muttertagsmysterykal. Is meanwhile also already freshly bathed, professionals recognize here perhaps already what it is about.

Lisa on the left has the Afterparty Sweater in FibreCo Cumbria Fingering and Anki pins Great Love in Alpakka Ull.

There are also a few #geheimminis on the needles or just off them. Karo on the left is knitting Sandnes Mini Alpakka along with Sandnes Silk Mohair and Emlule28 has put together several projects at once.

Have a great weekend!
