Well, there is no denying it: The situation is serious. Sometimes you don't even want to turn on the news, it's so bad outside. A little tee party at home, a nice movie and, of course, our knitting needles are comforting.

Therefore, there is this week again a lot of inspiration for you, of course already a little Christmas touched, a little net talk, a little gift and a lot of good humor!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...

First things first, as they say in English. And to push away dark clouds today, at least mentally, here's a playlist for you before we really get started with our Saturday coffee.

Christmas Classics via Spotify

Anyone who knows me - and you know me a little now - knows that I love Christmas. I virtually slide from the golden autumn directly into Advent. Why is that? Well, because four weeks are just too short for me for the most beautiful time of the year! That's why gingerbread is already allowed in November (let's face it, with all the sacrifices we're making right now, I'm not going to start punishing myself with gingerbread abstinence). And my Christmas anticipation will be all the greater when the knitting world also gradually unpacks the tinsel.

Oh, hello, this sweater is a must-have after all!

When Mette from PetiteKnit showed the first pictures of the Let's Chrismas Sweater on Instagram, it was immediately clear to me: I need it for my son. I would also knit it for myself, but a small children's sweater is just more realistic.

Are you feeling this sweater as much as I am? Feel free to give free rein to your feelings. Ignore voices like

"But you can only wear it for such a short time."

"Isn't that too much?"

"Pompoms?!?!?!"

To all these questions I counter the following: What would have happened if Anna Scott hadn't listened to her heart back in Notting Hill and gone back to William Thacker's bookstore (for travel literature) to tell him, "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love it." We're just knitters, too, standing in front of a sweater asking it to go into the basket as a project. Listen to your heart!

A children's sweater we create!

Knitted with Double Sunday, you could make the pompoms from Sunday or Sisu.

Knitted with Let's Christmas Sweater with Double Sunday from SANDNES. Mette has chosen Skoggrønn (8082) as the base color. I personally followed this color choice. But I also imagine a warm brown very nice. You can make the pompoms from leftovers. For example Sunday or - if you want to buy balls in addition - also Sisu. So? Are you in?

And now, everyone, a sip of the Christmas punch!

Sugar. Z-u-c-k-e-r! A dress by Tiril Eckhoff for children.

At work, they all looked at me a bit incredulously at the beginning when I started to join the choir of angels. But little by little they all fell over. No one escapes my Christmas magic!

And so Marisa rediscovered this sweet dress based on a design by Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff for SANDNES. Knitted with Børstet Alpakka, the sizes are calculated from two to twelve years. So who has dress-loving children at home: this model is great!

Of course, there is also Christmas for adults! Where else would we be! So who still wants to put the knitting turbo: Look at the Julegenser from SANDNES. The pattern is free, at the yarn comes Alpakka is used. I think the model perfectly manages the tightrope walk between funny eye-catcher and Bridget Jones' Christmas sweaters. And for the holidays, it may be a little more of everything.

Of course, you can also knit big ones for Christmas!

Very classy, not only for Christmas! Ola Sweater by Irene Lin.

Some time ago, a customer also drew my attention to the Ola Sweater sweater by Irene Lin. The Taiwanese designer has succeeded here a particularly noble model, I think. Since the pattern are in English, the project is certainly something for advanced knitters, but maybe one of you is still looking for a nice project for the holidays. With the yarn we advise you in any case to the combi Modena and Premia from LAMANA.

Prefer small things?

Of course, I fully understand all of you who prefer to tackle smaller knitting projects. To make it easier to fill your gift lists, this week we've created a inspiration for you on the subject of Knitting Christmas gifts created. Next week will follow another inspiration with gifts for knitters. After all, we also want to fill our own wish lists, right?

Always a nice gift: caps! For example, designs from Paula_M or Emilie Luis.

In addition to the inspiration, in which you can already find a lot of gift ideas, I would like to recommend a few designs: There is, for example, the cap Cara by Paula_m from Double Sunday by SANDNES. The hat is double knitted - so no ear is guaranteed to stay cold. The sizes range from a head circumference of 48-50 cm and 60-62 cm. So you can knit a lot of people!

Another new addition to our knitting kits is the Bonnet Enchantée by Emilie Luis. If you prefer it classy, you should definitely have a look here. We recommend Organic Wool and Deluxe Silk Mohair by Krea Deluxe. By the way: We have posted more kits from the designer. You can find them all here.

Craft idea and a gift for you

Sandra also stumbled across a very cute craft idea the days. Together with the blog wasfuermich Milena from light pink grey transformed tassels into little fir trees. The pattern are nice and simple, you can find them here. I am quite in love with the idea of gluing on small glitter beads. The little trees are then perfect as gift tags or even as pendants on the real fir itself.

And since the times, as I said at the beginning, are just once again not easy, we have something for you. Quasi an anti-worry wrinkle remedy. Chocolate also works for padding, but we all know the weaknesses of this method (a gingerbread on it!).

Our graphic designer Stine has therefore designed a notepad for you, on which you can coordinate your Christmas knitting plans wonderfully. Just download it, fill it out and put it in your notebook. You can find the free printable here - and we hope it brings a smile to your face!

News from Laine

23 Crochet pattern can be found in the new book by Molla Mills.

By the way, one book that will definitely end up in our themed world of gifts for knitters next week is Crochet Crush by Molla Mills. Sure, this one is obviously about crochet. But as needlework enthusiasts, we can't resist the imaginative pattern, beautifully staged as always by Laine.

The designs are suitable for both beginners and advanced crocheters. The book contains, for example, pattern for decoration and other practical accessories. Crochet pieces are usually very robust due to their surface, this feature is picked up here for rugs or bags. Molla Mills was inspired by flowers, summer mood or even her neighborhood in Brooklyn for this book. You can Crochet Crush pre-order now, it will be shipped on December 3rd.

Maschenfein

Last weekend, the time had finally come: The Maschenfein team met for real. Just in time, if you look at the current situation ...

In addition to our core team - Jule was unfortunately ill - our commissioned knitters were also on board. They were wonderful days that we let take place under all caution. Nevertheless, knitting and cooking together did us a world of good and gave us beautiful memories for the coming weeks and months. In our Instagram highlight you get a few impressions of our meeting.

Especially nice were also the messages we got from you over the days. You were happy with us and that was just great! Even from the sofa at home you have knitted along - the most beautiful hobby in the world simply connects!

Francesca didn't knit directly on the sofa, but with a beautiful view. On the needles she has our first Christmas shawl: Margaret's mom. À propos Christmas shawl. There will be news from us very soon! Julia has made a lot of progress with the Lourdes Genser made. In favor of Christmas presents, he must now take a break. I understand well!

You can discover the perfect Christmas gift inspiration from Laura. The Basic socks by Paula_m are quick to knit and will please everyone. Birgit has finished her Kolding from ChrisBerlin. That really makes me a little envious. The scarf is just great!

What are you knitting this weekend? Something for you or Christmas presents? I wish you in any case enough knitting time and as always a lot of fun browsing on maschenfein.com. Stay healthy!
