I know, I know. The summer was short and wet. Also I have not charged all the sun batteries and would have been quite for the one or other round in sandals to have. But: Looking at our knitting kits, new yarns and pattern reconcile me with this fact.

Because there I see hats, socks, sweaters, cardigans and scarves. Yarns from Norwegian virgin wool and merino sheep that live on a small Falkland Island. There goes with me directly the head cinema on with the most beautiful films around sheep breeding, wool processing and just knitting itself. So make yourselves comfortable again and welcome to the Saturday coffee!

New Rowan yarns: Norwegian Wool and Pebble Island.

To put it bluntly: Sandra's yarns are piling up. She said so herself and I believe her immediately. Jule and I have rummaged quite selflessly - and of course only for you - at the wholesaler, Jule has then created and Sandra now gets ball after ball, in order to sample the individual qualities. What must, that must!

I would like to introduce two new arrivals to you: There is on the one hand. Norwegian WoolA pure new wool yarn that contains exclusively fibers from Norwegian sheep. According to Rowan, the gauge is 22 stitches per ten centimeters, and the color palette was created together with the Norwegian designer duo Arne & Carlos.

Pebble Island is also a pure new wool yarn - but the wool here comes from merino sheep that live on the small Falkland island of Pebble Island. The yarn is slightly heavier than Norwegian Wool (and also spun completely differently). The gauge, according to Rowan, is 20 stitches per ten centimeters. Again, the color palette is rather small, but I like it a lot.

Two design examples of the new yarns: scarf Malin and sweater Minnow.

Of course, I'm not introducing you to two yarns to not also show you what you can knit with them. Granted: Arne's and Carlos' pattern may not suit everyone's taste, but if you have a soft spot for Fair Isle and bold colors, you should definitely take a closer look at the booklet. Among other things, you will find the scarf Malinwhich is certainly a bit of a challenge. I imagine it also very beautiful in two colors.

But my heart beats even more with the designs that Erika Knight has designed to match Pebble Island. You can find the corresponding booklet in our store. One of my favorites is the sweater Minnow. I think we should create a kit for it, don't you? Just note that the sweater - like almost all Rowan designs - is knitted in single pieces from the bottom up. But here I would actually say: The effort is worth it.

News from Rosa P.

Brand new in the store: Pattern and knitting kit for Villma Slipover.
Photo: © Rosa P.

In one go, on the other hand, you knit the latest design by Rosa P. The Villma Slipover is shaped with short rows at the shoulders and hem, the cuffs are knitted in a rib pattern. In the kit you will find the Como from LAMANA, alternatively you can use the Como Tweed as an alternative. Especially now for fall / winter I like tweed look incredibly.

I have not shown you Rike's sock design yet Seffa. That's why I'm catching up on it very quickly - after all, it's socktober. So all sock knitting fans should definitely take a look at it. In the kit we have put the crown yarn Premium Cashmere from Regia. I've got this yarn on my needles right now (okay, rather still) for the Kolding on the needles and am very fond of it!

Socks are of course also a super project for fall!

Quick knitting little things

New from our Jule: The Tibetan set consisting of cap, headband and cowl as well as cap Henry (center).

If you feel like knitting little things that might even end up under one or the other Christmas tree, you should also take a look at the new designs from our Jule: In the store you can now find the (single) pattern as well as the kits for the Tibetan set - consisting of cap, cowl and headband - and the cap Henry. The kit is made, as the name suggests, from the Tibetan knitted from Pascuali (70% virgin wool, 30% yak), the hat Henry from Bergamo from LAMANA. Both yarns are incredibly soft, voluminous and perfect for fall and winter accessories.

Already a bit older, but rediscovered through a customer request: headband Ingeborg from PetiteKnit.

À propos fall and winter accessories: the other day I got the following message from Sandra: "Sophia, our job is so bad." I'm like, "What did you buy?" 😉 Because I already had a hunch: a customer needed a yarn alternative - namely for the headband Ingeborg from PetiteKnit. It's already a few years old, but it's just timeless. Sandra recommended to the customer Snefnug from CaMaRose. How much you need? One skein - so the perfect in-between project!

On the other hand, if you prefer to chunk instead of spill and are looking for a bigger project: be sure to check out the Chunky Rib Sweater by Lia Lykke. It.is.great! It is knitted top down. We recommend the Como Grande from LAMANA. This makes the sweater nice and soft and light. I especially like the wide sleeves, which are narrow at the cuffs.

Before we leave for Instagram-Island, I have a hot tip for you: Besides new yarns and new knitting kits (for example the Sweater No. 14 or the Festival Sweater My Size) I want to recommend one book in particular: The famous 52 Weeks of Socks by Laine is now also available soon with us in German. We expect the delivery shortly in the warehouse. It's best to sign up for the waiting list in the product section, then you'll get a mail as soon as it's available.

So I am curious when I will discover socks again in our knitting round. But at the moment you are all in sweater fever. Louisa, for example, will soon have the Ånund sweater by Tiril Eckhoff will soon be on the needles. And Larissa takes part in our Maschenfein x SANDNES Knit Along and knits the Kelly sweater.

A close-up of the Isola Bella of ChrisBerlin's scarf can be found at Katrin's site. The uniformity of the rhombs is really meditative. And why it's sometimes worth sleeping over a tutorial, you can learn from Judith. She knits the Powderjacket by Clarissa Schellong.

You can already tell: Autumn is going to be cozy! I look forward to it. Maybe I'll continue knitting my Kelly sweater the next few days. And you guys? Have a great weekend in any case! Have fun knitting and browsing!
