Sandnes Knit Along {starting this week}

Sometimes the spontaneous ideas are the best. Just like this new Knit Along, which I suggested about two or three weeks ago so out of the gut on Instagram in my Stories and which was then so crazy accepted that I did not get to start it properly here. Completely selfish was my suggestion, because this jacket had it to me from the first look in the associated Sandnes magazine. The color and the cut are just completely mine and I'm so looking forward to wearing it now.

So all of a sudden there were so many of you that I could hardly cope with reordering the colors and qualities that I had initially ordered so carefully. Fortunately, I have the world's best readers and customers (I mean that exactly as it says here), because it came even with delivery delays, which affected in proportion not very many, but still some customers, not a single complaint, but only nice emails and a lot of patience! You are just really great, I thank everyone very much for it, I am namely behind every single order always with heart blood behind and personally affected if something does not work out. Simply because I know myself how it is to wait for yarn, for which one would like to banish all current projects in the basket next to the sofa.

Now, however, really almost all yarns have arrived and little by little we can needle this week. Who still wants to join, I explain here finally times orderly what this Knit Along is actually about:

What do we knit / how can I participate?

We knit Sandnes yarn projects or other pattern with Sandnes yarn from my store. So it's a #sandnesKAL and #maschenfeinKAL and those are already the hashtags you can use to make your projects findable for everyone.

The Sandnes designs, whose pattern you can already find here in the Maschenfein:: store, are partly from a German Sandnes booklet (the children's designs) and partly from Norwegian books, which have already been translated for Maschenfein (in autumn many more beautiful designs will be added). All Sandnes knitting kits can be found here collected at a glance in the store. Some colors are still sold out today, but I expect a new delivery, so the situation will improve a bit in the days to come. By the end of August at the latest, when the Sandnes gates in Norway are fully open again, all colors will really be available again. Feel free to ask me by email if you have specific color ideas.

But of course you can also knit existing pattern from the Sandnes yarns. For example, the Bayak sh awl or the Verena sh awl in Alpakka Silke, which is available in a completely different color scheme than the Bayak yarn for these shawls. Or the checkerboard poncho. Or just any other pattern from other designers that fits the stitch definition. Just ask and send an email to support(at)maschenfein(dot)de, they will help you quickly. When do we start the Knit Along / when do I need to cast on?

We start this week when it suits you. Many of you (not all yet) are already supplied with yarns and pattern. If you still want to participate, you can of course join us at any time. So feel free to browse through the beautiful designs or just pick another desired pattern for the yarns and be part of the #sandnesKAL #maschenfeinKAL.

There is no obligation to strike today or tomorrow. Just be there if you feel like it. Maybe you will be inspired by the first color combinations on the web for a few more days.

When do I have to be ready?

Who has followed my #hinataKAL knows that I myself am never the fastest and I also like myself at all no deadline pressure. We'll be really active knitting this Knit Along for the next 6 weeks or so, but even after that, there will still be finished images added to the hashtag collections. So don't feel stressed, but use the Knit Along to try out beautiful yarns and pattern together, inspire each other, support each other and take it easy at your own pace.
