A wonderful good morning to Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world.

On Facebook the other day the question came up how exactly short rows are knitted. In fact, I now like to use short rows in my designs to achieve certain shapes. Most recently in Ruby and also in the Bayak shawl, which is so popular right now. Alea from my book also contains short rows to create the very narrow long ends of the shawl. In fact, there are different techniques in there that have different advantages or disadvantages. At Malou I found a post where she shows different methods. Rililie has a very detailed tutorial for the "German Short Rows", i.e. the short rows with the double stitch. This is how I knit them most of the time. By the way, a very nice book on the subject is "Short Row Knits" by Carol Feller.

This year, a Berlin Knits Festival will take place again on 30.09 to 01.10. The location is fixed (Berlin Mitte), more info you could follow via Facebook or Ravelry. With Marion and Steffi, the two organizers of Berlin Knits, I have almost two years ago an exciting interview.

Last week I had Jana from Janukke visit me here on the blog for a long and very interesting conversation. Make yourself comfortable and read in there.
