Sandnes - Poppy

The Poppy yarn from Sandnes is a cotton stitch tube into which alpaca and virgin wool fibers are blown using a special technique. This creates a very light and warm yarn. In contrast to spun yarns, there is a lot of air between the individual fibers and the cotton tube also provides the necessary stability and tear resistance. An ideal yarn for airy but warm cardigans and sweaters.

Responsibility

The wool comes from Uruguay and is mulesing free, the alpaca wool comes from Peru where the alpacas can live freely.
Sandnes is committed to making their sustainable and responsible contribution in the ecological cycle. They are in the process of building a fully traceable supply chain. The alpacas and Norwegian sheep are kept free on uncultivated land, so no deforestation or anything like that is necessary. In addition, green electricity from hydropower is used for production and the water used is then purified again.
