The gauge with needle size 4 shows 19 stitches and 34 rows for 10×10 cm. 19 stitches are also 10 cm for me but with 34 stitches I get a height of about 17 cm. How can that be?

Dear Andrea,
that is really a big deviation. Did you knit the swatch stockinette stitch instead of garter stitch? Or maybe you stretched it a lot after washing? Curly stitch is very stretchy, but it tightens up again quite well after a while. Feel free to email us at support@maschenfein.de - it's easier for us to help you individually that way.
Kind regards
Louisa

I am still interested in how to care for the finished piece ? Can you wash the suit in the washing machine? Thank you in advance.

Dear Lisa,
we recommend hand washing knitted Snefnug. According to the manufacturer, the yarn can also be machine washed, but it will shrink up to 7%. We have had this experience as well. It can be washed in the machine, but the knitted piece wist afterwards a little smaller and the knitted thereby a little firmer - but not felted. Since the exact change of the knitted piece after washing is difficult to predict, we recommend hand washing.
Kind regards
Louisa

A beautiful knitting kit, easy to knit and Snefug is a cozy soft wool. I bought the knitting kit for size 0-3 months and now finished knitting. And I really like the little wool suit.
I have only two tips:
- 250g has been more than enough for me with matching gauge and sewing all the seams. I even have a little of the last started ball left. The 6th ball of the set I have not even started and now over. So maybe buy wool and pattern individually and not as 300g wool kit.
- Right at the beginning of the pattern, you need another circular knitting needle 4mm in 80cm in addition to the one recommended for the kit. I had only a short 40cm at hand and would also recommend this to the knitting kit in size 0-3 months. Especially to knit the hat and arms.
Otherwise, everything was quite wonderful. So have fun knitting 🙂

Dear Hannah,
thank you very much for your feedback! It is comfortable to knit with a 40cm needle, that's true. But you can also knit the short "rounds" of the hood with the long needle, working the Magic Loop method. Then the one needle with 80 cm is actually enough.
Best regards
Louisa
