Montalcini Sweater - PDF knitting pattern
PDF knitting pattern by Miriam Walchshäusl
The Montalcini sweater is a fluffy half-patch sweater that is worked seamlessly from the top down with two-ply yarn. It has a simple drop-down shoulder shape with short rows that create a higher back and a voluminous, folded neckband. A half brioche pattern is worked across the body, creating an interesting horizontal zig-zag effect and adding depth to the light and airy mohair and camel fabric. Simple half patches run from the underarms to the split hem seams, allowing the garment to move subtly. The sleeves fall straight to the wrist, where they end in narrow cuffs. The zig-zag brioche pattern is repeated on the top of the sleeves and all sweater edges are finished with an invisible trim.
The sweater is inspired by the Jewish-Italian neuroscientist Rita Levi Montalcini and named after her.
