Description
Lotti Mother's Day shawl 2024
This year's Mother's Day shawl Lotti is a slightly asymmetrical triangular shawl that is worked from one tip to the other. By working double increases on one side and decreases on the other, the rows in the first section become steadily longer and the shawl gains its depth. In the second section, only decreases are worked, shaping the other half of the shawl towards the tip. The catchy pattern of knit and purl stitches appears the same on the front and back so that the shawl can be worn on both sides. The Pinta yarn from Pascuali with a proportion of mulberry silk gives Lotti a delicate, shimmering sheen.
The pattern contain information for three different shawl sizes, so that everyone can knit their favorite size, from slightly smaller, quick-knit shawls to XXL shawls.

What is the alternative to Pinta?
When wearing the finished shawl I realized that I find ramie uncomfortable on my skin. I gave the beautiful shawl to my daughter. And now I'm thinking about knitting it again with a different wool because I really enjoyed it.

Dear Ellen,
Alternatively, you could knit Saffira from Pascuali. This quality also has the beautiful sheen of Pinta, but without the ramie. Feel free to write to us at support@maschenfein.de if you have any further questions. We can advise you individually by e-mail.
Best regards

The shawl is so much fun to knit! Great design, great wool!
I have a question about the asymmetry: approximately how much of the wool is used for the increase part and how much for the decrease part? Since I like to knit all of the wool, I would start decreasing halfway through a symmetrical shawl. That is not possible here. Or do you automatically knit the 5 skeins for the largest shawl?

Dear Angelika,
the quantities are designed to be sufficient for the corresponding size. However, if you really don't want to have much left over, you can do the following: the larger part of the asymmetrical shawl is the part with the increases. So once you have knitted half of your skeins, you can easily finish the second half and have yarn left over. To keep less yarn left over, you can knit your increases until you have knitted a little more than half of your yarn.
Kind regards
Louisa

I am very excited about the wool and the color "coral", it was a compromise because my shade of blue (color 100) is not in stock G.Birgit

Good day,
I'm really looking forward to my wool.
I have high hopes that I will manage to knit the shawl. My knitting skills are very poor and my small projects are not always successful.
But now I am confident with your support.
Are the pattern only available by email and then you start knitting or do you start together via an online meeting?
Well, I'll certainly find out.
Now look forward to the wool and best regards from Ingeborg

Dear Ingeborg,
Yes, the update to the pattern will be sent to you by e-mail. But you can also find it in your customer account. And then you can simply get started. We will also be in touch for the KAL launch, but there will be no joint online meeting.
Love greetings
Louisa
