Who follows me closely on Instagram already knows one of my still semi-secret new favorite parts, the KOS part. I do not want to give away too much yet, hence the spongy designation. But maybe I'll show you exactly this little project, which I have so shortly before the birth of the baby girl (almost) finished, even this week in my series about the new book (I'm a little behind). Let's see what I'm in the mood for.

Anyway, KOS is a great yarn. I had already fallen in love with it a lot in the winter when I first felt the stitch samples in a meeting with Sandnes. I was amazed, because KOS has a relatively high nylon content. But this is explained by the construction of the yarn, which is actually made of a fine nylon net, where the alpaca and wool fibers are "blown" into. It feels so cozy when worn, I really like it.

A large batch of the matching Sandnes magazine "KOS" has just arrived in the Maschenfein warehouse. And even though we're all looking forward to warm summer vacations, I'm simply presenting the magazine to you here in an anticyclical way. Simply because I like it that way. And because you can take one or two fall projects with you on your summer vacation. Can't you?

The booklet contains a total of 18 great pattern of various kinds. Oh yes, as always, the booklet is only available in conjunction with Sandnes yarn. Specification of the manufacturer! You will find five garments for ladies (I show only four of them here, but the other you can also find in the knitting kits, I link below). The sweater on the top left in the color coral is called "bell sweater", just because it is completely worked in a hole pattern reminiscent of bells. It is worked from the bottom up (like many Sandnes designs). The sleeves are also worked starting with the cuff and sewn in at the end.

The light blue raglan cardigan right is knitted as raglan also from the bottom up. A totally simple part.

Also Fair Isle goes in KOS quite great. You can already see on the left sweater, called "Inca sweater" knitted from the bottom up in four colors. By the way, there is nothing gesteekt (to whom the term means nothing: never mind, you don't need it for this sweater), because the upper pattern in the part of the sweater that is not knitted in the round (because of the sleeves), the pattern is knitted in rows.

On the right then still a somewhat more revealing lace pattern sweater. Since you have to think about what you wear underneath, so that looks reasonable.

Jippiieh, there is also something for the men. Beautiful pattern for men's sweaters are (I find) rare. The right here I like already very well. It is called as it is knitted: "Basic Raglan Sweater". Again worked from the bottom up.

The sweater on the left I find also not bad, the guy has only somehow crazy wide upper arms. Distracts from the sweater. Knitted (from bottom to top) in right and purl stitches.

There are also six garments for children. My favorite the leaf pattern sweater top left. Unfortunately not to the taste of the big miss here.... so I have to hope for the baby girl. The pattern are available for sizes 2 to 12 years. D

Three simple hats are also available. Among them is the simple ribbed cap here on the left, which you might rather wear with the cuff rolled up, so here in egg warmer style. The hat on the right is.... well, who recognized it right away? Crocheted!

You can find all knitting kits for this booklet collected, if you filter the knitting kits by "Sandnes" and "Kos". For the sake of simplicity, I have done that here for you. The whole color assortment of KOS is available at our shop, if a color is not available for a short time, just ask, we will fill it up as soon as possible and try to avoid shortages in autumn.
