The Santa Claus door of my video tutorial advent calendar opens the world of doubleface knitting to you today. Two of the shawls in my second shawl book are knitted in this technique, namely Lore and Nell.

I know that this technique is still a little daunting for many of you, but dare! It's a lot of fun and actually not that difficult. With a little practice, you'll soon find your preferred thread position and can try your hand at such a special piece. By the way, these days I'm starting a long-term project, namely a doubleface baby blanket. I'm sure I'll report a bit about it soon. In the following video I show you how to cast on the stitches in two colors and how the basic principle "doubleface" works.
