I'm digging into my favorite homespun knits today and showing you my "Array" loop from Shibui Knits. The pattern are free here, the yarn is not quite so free, but I actually knitted the loop in the original yarn.

Loop Shibui Array knit

If I remember correctly, the two yarns are always knitted alternately in per round. So one round xxx, one round xxx. By picking off every other stitch, this structure is created. By the way, I also use this pattern for the scarf that is on the needles this month.

I really like the loop, but I'm actually more of a scarf guy. Somehow the loops never have the perfect circumference, I prefer to wrap. And you?
