In August, when the summer is coming to an end and we are all even more tingling in our hands, the new Maschenfein book "Hygge Wohfühlkleidung stricken "* a collaboration between Kerstin (knitding), Sandra (sandragroll) and me. Every week we will show you a tiny glimpse into the genesis of the book and the 15 projects.

The Rakuda Cuddle Dream Cardigan is knit in two strands from ITO Rakuda and Sensai on 3.5mm needles (or matching the gauge) top down. The "Continuous" shoulder construction certainly doesn't make it a beginner's project, but the work is well worth it. To do this, first work over the back and shoulder seams before shaping the sleeves and front/back. Once you get to the body, it's a handy side project in stockinette stitch. It's the collar that demands more attention again, through variously combined shortenings within the collar it acquires that lovely cozy fullness.

The Rakuda Cuddle Dream is a typical example of a design that is constantly changing shape on the needles. I had planned a short autumn jacket with a discreet cable pattern in the style of my shawl Skadi (which is knitted single-threaded from Rakuda) on the sleeves and cuffs. I discarded the pattern relatively early on, because Rakuda looks so wonderful in combination with Sensai that the pattern in the sample somehow irritated me. The knitted piece was also o cozy, that without further ado from "short" then simply "long" and finally had to get a cozy collar, it makes the cardigan perfect.

Test knitting projects from karos.knits and frau.ente

The cardigan is first knitted two-threaded, but tone in tone, only at the cuff and collar a second color is used, which makes these parts look mottled. Of course, you can adapt the "color concept" to your own wishes and ideas.

The Rakuda Cuddle Dream tutorial can be found in the new book "Hygge Wohlfühlkleidung stricken "* in sizes XS to 3XL - a tutorial by Marisa aka Maschenfein from August 2018.
