How happy I am, it's starting! I am already insanely excited what you will knit and who all participates. So today I'm giving the starting shot for the Brooklyn Tweed Knit Along. I've set up an extra page where you/we can link up our blog posts for the Knit Along, so this is our
-> Meeting place for the Brooklyn Tweed Knit Along <-
with the link-up collection and all important info about the Knit Along.
I knit with the thinner of the two yarns - with "Loft" in the color "Embers". I like the color very much, something other than blue.
The first skeins are wound (as I love him, my wool winder). I'm knitting the tunic "Chainlink" and had to knit several swatches with different needle sizes. In fact, for one of the swatches, I need half a needle gauge smaller than the pattern say. I'll show you my swatches the days, I'm still final washing and tensioning the small samples.
Especially with such a large project, stitch tests are really important. On the one hand, the pattern and design simply look completely different when knitted too loosely or too tightly. And on the other hand, it's terribly annoying when the beautiful piece doesn't fit in the end, isn't it?
And now it's your turn! I am curious!
PS: By the way, Brooklyn Tweed has just published more German pattern!
