Are you ready for our monthly knitting round at "Auf den Nadeln"? Last month we had 59 (!) contributions, I'm very happy that you have so much fun with it! By the way, the last contribution came in from Marina the day before yesterday. It is really worth the whole month, always look in. There was also a lot to see on Instagram under the hashtag #aufdennadelnjanuar.

Double thread knitting Silkhair

As for me, the Silkhair diamond shawl is still on the needles in February. Why is it lying there for so long? Unfortunately, I had (as so often) not ordered enough yarn and had to reorder. In the original store there were first delivery problems and finally one of the colors was no longer available. Oh horror! But I found it elsewhere (a different lot number, but since I knit two-color, double-threaded, it's not so important). Unfortunately, I was then also delivered the wrong color. The exchange went smoothly, but I couldn't start knitting the diamond scarf again until last Friday. But I was extremely productive with my other projects, I just have to show them here!

And what do you have on the needles in February? What happened to your projects? You can link to each other all month long! Attention: You have to put a backlink to this post or blog in your post, otherwise it won't work with the link tool. A backlink is nothing more than a link to this blog :)!

On Instagram I use the hashtag #aufdennadelnfebruar. Join in there too!

A good Saturday morning to the Käffchen! Today times with the focus on socks, which occupy me namely just very.

Knitting blog inspirations

Katharina wrote a few days ago, socks are so not theirs and I felt caught. Until a few weeks ago, I have sock projects in my Insta-Feed namely always quickly "scrolled over". Did not interest me, was filtered out. So until I knit socks, I still have felt a thousand other projects on my to-knit list! I thought.

Why exactly I suddenly started knitting some I don't know anymore. After knitting three hats with the magic loop for the first time in January, it was probably the logical step to try the magic loop for a pair of socks. So I bought two balls of Miles Wide and the first socks were on the needles. And since I was just trying them out and I didn't have any 2.5 needles anyway (only as a needle set), I finallytreated myself to a pair of Karbonz circular knitting needles. My goodness are they great!

And what you can not knit everything: Very much in love with the Hearth Slippers, there was a #hearthslipperkal on Instagram. Aren't they all great?

For a soft kick, you could knit yourself these socks from Ysolda Teague. Or knit yourself some Valentine's Day socks.

Taina made an overview of 16 different ways to knit the heel and linked the corresponding pattern. But I like only the heels 15 and 17.

Oh dear, but you know what I hate about sock knitting? You always have to knit two! How boring! In my mind's eye, a big pile of single socks piles up. It certainly helps to knit both at the same time. You can see how it works here. (Or just wear two different "like Pipilotta, Mama").

But, Catherine, if I still haven't convinced you, just knit some cuffs, you can always use them!

By the way! You can now subscribe to a newsletter on Woolspire, there is as a thank you then a 15% discount code for the next purchase. Worth it, I think! Just go to the page and enter in the pop-up window.

Have a great weekend!

Instagram is bad. Bad, bad, bad. Anyway, I always fall for it, uh, I always get inspired. So also from this so great, cozy pants for kids. In sizes mini to 6 years, it kept slipping into my Insta feed with the hashtag #simpelthenbukse. So when I stumbled across this version yesterday, which I think is so cute for boys, the pattern (available in Norwegian or English) nimbly landed in my shopping cart.

The pants are knitted from "Babysilk" of Du Store Alpakka, there made my knitting heart a hop, I have namely in my gauge mania very close to the heart (which is certainly also excellent for a baby blanket ... hach, I do not need unfortunately). So I had a direct reason to order two columns in blue - for the prince. Hopefully they will be here soon. A new in-between project, when the socks are ready.

There are more beautiful tutorials on Paelas' site:

Knitting beautiful children's thingsPhotos all from www.paelas.com.

Top left: The Simpelthen Bukse, which will soon land on the needles here. The pattern are in English, it is very easy to understand, have already read through it. The pants are knitted with baby silk on 2 to 3mm needles. A nice detail I find different colored pockets. I will show you when it is ready.

Top right: The All-Season Jacket, knit from Fin and Air on 4 or 5 needles.

Bottom left: The Flashtopp, again knit from baby silk, on 3.5 needles.

Below right: The Julekjole, the pattern are unfortunately (still) only available in Norwegian, but I think the dress is too cute.

After I was still wished a happy new year yesterday, I thought it is quite an Insta-review of December in it. I have once again amazed myself, how much I have knitted in recent weeks. My Instagram feed has become my little knitting diary.

Knitting blog

December began with lots of Silkhair from Lana Grossa for my new diamond scarf. In blue (1) and pink (2) a dear friend knits the pattern sample. My variation is (3) blue-rust-orange. I'm knitting two colors and double-banded (4). In the Snuggery of DaWanda there was the great Julekuler event with Arne & Carlos. The Strikke Duker book (6) is here waiting for a time slot. I knitted the Julekuler itself (5) only afterwards, trying out the two-handed Faire Isle technique I already reported about here. I was also in Copenhagen again (7) at the Woolspire office (over there you can also read how it is with the knitting needles on the plane, I'm always asked about it). Then I finally met Ruta from Wollen Berlin, who has this adorable bike (8) in front of the store. Along the way, I've always been busy knitting my Tosh sh awl, which I cast off yesterday by the way!

Have you seen that in November already thirty people have diligently linked their projects at Auf-den-Nadeln to browse? What I was pleased. Since I'm curious how it looks in December with you on the needles so! I show you my projects, I had in November unfortunately relatively little time to knit:

Single thread knitted scarf Superior yarn

My never-ending-will scarf is finished. Single-thread knit from gauzy cashmere-silk-merino blend from Filatura di Crosa (the yarn is called superior). Now the threads need to be sewn up. Favorite activity, #malsogarnicht. Before I can show it to you in all its glory, though, I'm thinking about blocking the scarf. Because of the pattern, it curls a lot. I am still unsure and so he must still lie a little, wait and let my thoughts mature.

Triangle scarf knitting Walker

The Tosh cloth takes shape, in the beginning I was still busy writing, but now it develops rather spontaneously. But I explain the pattern to you sometime. Have patience!

Lana Grossa Silkhair

I like the never-ending scarf so much that I will repeat the pattern in a slightly modified form and with different yarn and write a tutorial! Maybe that works out in December in time for the holidays. I show you the days more of it, the new scarf is namely also already on the needles.

How does it look with you? What happened to your projects and what do you have new or old things on the needles in December? You can link up all month long! Attention: You have to put a backlink to this post or blog in your post, otherwise it won't work with the link tool. A backlink is nothing more than a link to this blog :)!

Today I show you a triangle scarf that I knitted a year ago. However, it never made it onto the blog until now. Back then I tried the Garter Tab Cast-On for the first time. If you don't know it yet: you don't start the triangle in the middle of the long side with a normal cast-on (it would bulge), but with a special little "twist", which you can find well explained by Stephen West.

Semilla Superior Yarn Two Thread

This scarf I have knitted quasi "free will". Stockinette stitch with alternating patterns. It was my first triangle shawl with a cast on in the middle of the long side. I was inspired by the Textures Shawl by Orlane. I don't know why I didn't knit it directly, maybe I was too "lazy" to follow a tutorial, hehe.

Triangle Scarf Garter Tab Cast-On

It turned out very nice, I gave it to one of my dearest friends. In retrospect, he could have used a tad more length.

I knitted it in two strands, inspired by Naima from mylys with her version of Mara. She also knitted it with BC yarn Semilla and Superior from Filatura di Crosa and it looked so wonderfully cozy.

By the way, I liked the combination of these two yarns so much that I also used them for my XXL scarf .

I am now so much in love with the Superior yarn that I am currently knitting the never-ending scarf from it, which is here on the needles in November. It is incredibly soft and cozy. However, also insanely delicate. Maybe I should just knit the Superior yarn two-threaded.... ohja! Lands immediately on the list!

And I join the RUMS again today.

While the autumn has given us a few nice warm days and I still get along with a heavy cardigan, it is now slowly colder outside. You are all already eager to knit, we could already admire the last on the needles link-up. I am very happy that so many of you are here! And let's go into November!

Maschenfein Links Monthly

Not much has changed for me "on the needles"-technically. I haven't been able to kill the UFO yet because of all the Lakota knitting- the scarf made of a gossamer cashmere-merino-silk blend still lies on my lap in the evening. I'm getting there. But it will take a few more evenings in November.

Triangle scarf knitting

My Tosh cloth offers me there welcome change, it grows slowly and I like it already very much!

How does it look for you? I am curious. What has become of your projects and what do you have in November on the needles? You can link up all month long! Attention: You have to put a backlink to this post or blog in your post, otherwise it won't work with the link tool .

Schwups, already the end of October and meanwhile already times so really bitter cold outside. Since it's time for a little Insta-review of the last month. Maybe you also have desire!

Instagram Maschenfein October

1. earlier this month we made a family city trip to Copenhagen and of course I immediately thought of Heidi from Wool Rocks, whom you know from the first knitted interview. It was a nice evening! Chatting and knitting in a café around the corner.

The next day I visited her in her office and listened to the story behind the new knitting platform Woolspire. Lots of great ideas! Psstt.... You can be curious..... By the way, this is the Woolspire sheep, with knitted logo.

3. diligently knitted on many different color combinations of my new hat "Lakota". Pink-orange I find very cool!

4. I was delighted with my new square business cards.

5. almost freaked out at the sight of these cute alpacas at a market around the corner. They live very close to Berlin, and you can even visit them at the Alpaca Nigra alpaca farm. 25 animals live there, two to two and a half kilos of wool are produced annually per animal. The wool is spun in the Ore Mountains, and you could buy it at this market, among others.

6. well, and then there was cotton to buy at the favorite flower store. had to go. Sure, right?

7. the big launch of the new e-book. Caro will chide me on this sentence, why? Hop on over, I love her writing!

8. bracelets knitted at the book party for the Schnellstricker book in Berlin Mitte.

9. knitted on the most important current long-term project. The scarf from a touch of cashmere silk merino. I hope that it will be finished soon (the birthday was only in August, *sweat*), but my fingers do not really cooperate and hurt quickly after a few rows. Do you know that with such fine yarn?

Instagram Maschenfein October-2

10: On the favorite farm we were allowed to spin the other day. However, the Miss found that pretty boring and so we spent most of the time felting at the craft table. Now I really want to take a spinning class, Jessica has already expressed interest. Do you have any recommendations for Berlin?

11 Oh yes, the knitting of the new cloth with the special pattern (I had already told you about it) I had also allowed myself for this month. Already a good piece to see. Will be a favorite part, I already know!

It has become bitterly cold in Berlin and the prince has outgrown his blue and white shell cap. A new one had to be made quickly. A really quick cap, which was so much fun that I immediately...

13. ...had to reorder wool from Nina. The Fräulein needs now also so one.

14. that is also almost finished, only the pompon is missing, she wants to make it herself. This cap is knitted in one to two hours. I'll write down the pattern as soon as I get a chance! By the way, I was inspired by Anja's "Free Pattern Friday". However, my hat is nooooch easier. It's not even knitted in the round (which was simply because I didn't want to try the magic loop technique and the short cable for knitting in the round was occupied with a Lakota). So. I'll write it down for you soon!

15 So and now hold on tight. Since someone has actually heard my call for Woolfolk at the penultimate Samstagskaffee & Netzgeflüster and these pretty strands soon move in here! I'll have to pet them for a while then. Still too much else on the needles. But anticipation is known as the most beautiful, nech?

Hooray! Here it is, my knitting pattern for the new hat called Lakota !!! Quick announcement beforehand: To celebrate the day Ruta from the wonderful store Wollen Berlin has provided three packs of the necessary wool for you to win. Find out how to enter below!

I have let the needles glow here in recent weeks and Lakota finally knitted in four color variations for you. I find them all great and can hardly decide on a favorite model. You?

Cap with leaf pattern knitting patternMartina's wish cap in the color "sky".

I'm really excited about this hat, whose origin is a special blogger friendship. That's how it is with blogging, virtual friendships develop into real friendships whose basis may not be common roots or childhood memories, but shared passions, as in Martina's and my case sewing. In the meantime, a virtual DaWanda acquaintance has become a real friendship. We rarely see each other, but when we do, we have so much to tell each other!

Knitting Pattern cap MaschenfeinEqually subtle this color combination of "Duck Egg" and "Duck", two-tone at Caro's request.

The cap was baptized by Caro, with whom I now in the last few days a dedicated line connected, there meet two firecrackers full of ideas, I tell you. Caro tells you today anyway more about the meaning of the name Lakota and also shows you the result of a magical photo shoot, which she has organized especially for my cap Lakota *freu*. So be sure to hop over to her at the end!

Beanie knitting pattern leaf patternLakota in "apple" and "pink".

Back to the hat. It has a repetitive leaf pattern that seems complicated at first glance, but is really easy to knit at second glance. No cables or fancy techniques. It consists entirely of knit stitches, turnovers, and decreases, which are created by knitting two stitches together and overcasting a stitch. The hat is knitted on a circular needle. Two different thicknesses are used for the cuff and the pattern, so that the cuff sits nice and tight, but the hat gets a light beanie character.

Beanie knitting pattern beautiful patternAnd here in the "Pink" and "Ruby" variant

The e-book contains all the information about materials and tools. Step by step you will be guided through the knitting pattern. So that the pattern comes out well, the hat must be "bathed" at the end, but I also explain that to you in detail.

You can find Lakota now in my store as PDF for download!

Now you can win: Lakota is knitted from the wool Mia by Debbie Bliss, which you can find online in the store of Wollen Berlin. To celebrate the new e-book, Caro and I, together with Ruta from Wollen Berlin, are giving away three packs of two balls of Mia in the color of your choice! For one hat you need two balls of one and the same color! So you can knit it in one color.

Win Debbie Bliss

Conditions of participation:

Leave a comment here until next Monday, October 20 at midnight and tell us in which color you would like to knit the hat!

For a double chance to win, hop quickly over to Caro, who shows you her great hat photos, and comment there as well, then you will land two times in the lottery pot!

Good luck!

PS: By the way, I would like to thank Eva and Julia for the very detailed feedback and test knitting! Because of all the ribbing, which inevitably precedes the final result in the design of such a hat, you can no longer see the pattern for all the stitches. A strange look and the confirmation that all stitches are in the right place, helps a lot. Thank you!

I am so excited, you won't believe it. In the last few weeks you have already caught a mini glimpse of the creation of my latest e-book on Instagram and next Thursday it finally goes online! Today I'm going to tell you a little bit more about how this new hat, called ... no, no, stop! I won't tell you yet ... how the hat L.... came about.

Mütze mit Blättermuster strickenMy blogger friend Martina, the designer, played a major role in the creation of maschenfein. She has not only patiently endured my hours of thought about whether now knitting and angels still fit together, or whether not a new blog should be here. And in general, what it should be called. No, she also happily accepted my order and designed my new logo in a really great collaboration, which I'm still happy about every day.

And finally, she made my e-books maschenfein for me and created a template that I can now use very efficiently! Our collaboration was so great and then a few weeks ago when she was ogling this hat over there at Caro 's, I started doing the math in my head and googled my fingers to death for the matching hat color.

It should be the same color and something like a similar pattern. I found what I was looking for at Debbie Bliss. Mia knits wonderfully and the result is great! The cuff and pattern turned out to be more complex than I thought. What I have since geribbelt until I had found the perfect solution for me.

When I was then so at the cuffs and envelopes and decreases testing, I emailed in between then just times the Caro and that ended after lively mail traffic in an hour-long phone call. And I won't tell you more now, on Thursday you'll just have to hop over to Caro! Do not worry, I will remind you!

Oh yes! I have already taken the first big hurdle: Martina is already wearing her new cap and she likes it! *joy*
