May I introduce? The chipmunk scarf (#streifenhörnchentuch), a breezy summer project in the beautiful merino cashmere yarn Milano by Lamana is now available as a knitting kit in the store! You can also find the knitting pattern individually as a PDF for download.

Chipmunk knitting instructions-mesh fine

I fell in love with this yarn while working on one of the last scarves for my book, and it's the same yarn I currently have on the needles for my Whippet Cardigan. It's the perfect summer project yarn when you don't want to reach for cotton for a change. The chipmunk shawl is knitted on 4mm needles, I recommend in this case the fine knitting needles or the Lace Long tips for the Click Set, because the yarn runs very quickly over there and it is pleasant to knit.

The shawl is knitted from the right tip (which in the picture is the left tip with the dark gray marble colored stripes), towards the left short side (the side that is under the natural colored "block" in the picture). The pattern between the stripes is created by stitches stitched deeper, doesn't that look great?

I was particularly fascinated by the different color variations of the test knitters! It is incredibly great how different such a cloth can look.

Chipmunk Dagmar

This is the version of Dagmar in the colors of old pink, marble, pearl gray and silk gray.

Chipmunk Kathrin

All in blue is the cloth from Kathrin. She has chosen the colors denim blue, light gray, ice blue and nature.

Cloths-Anke-Christine

Another blue variant is the chipmunk scarf from Anke in the colors denim blue, pastel blue, ice blue and nature. On the right you see the scarf from Christine in the colors lilac, old pink, macadamia and nutmeg!

A huge thank you to Anke, Christine, Dagmar and Kathrin for carefully reading the pattern and test knitting!
