A wonderful good morning to Saturday coffee with a little knitting net talk.

In the picture you can see a new baby blanket Paul & Paula from the cotton cashmere yarn Sole, which a friend has just knitted and given away. An insanely even stitch definition, what a hard work... has definitely been very worthwhile!

How do you actually knit a provisional cast on? So far I have always crocheted it. For example, in the recent glove course at Wollen Berlin, where we knitted the Amilias. For the double cuff, you first have to cast on stitches provisionally, and so far I've always done that with the help of a crocheted air stitch snake. This works great (if you have a little practice), but even easier is the provisional cast on with the needle rope, which Sandra recently shared in our Facebook group! How awesome is that, please?

There are many ways to knit border stitches, the Diary Cardigan has especially beautiful border stitches (a type of Icord border stitch). And also in one of my last shawls, the "Ruby" shawl, I knitted this kind of border stitches. You can find a nice illustrated tutorial at Gift of Knitting (in English, but pictures are worth a thousand words).

Sophia has a lot of sock patterns on the needles right now, to be exact there should be five "Fäulein-Wunder" pattern in the number, which are all tailored to the sock wonder (or small circular needles for socks). She loves to knit the subsequent heel, and if you've been wanting to try that out too, pick one of her beautiful patterns and knit away! There are already Jonny and Waldemar and really cool I think are her hashtags for them: #waldemaristwunderbar and #jonnyisteinwunderkind.

Lately I have been asked very often about the three-sided stitch cast on for shawls. It is called garter-tab-caston and of course you can find some videos on Youtube. The best thing is to make it right away with a provisional cast on, for example you can find an illustrated tutorial here.

Over the past few weeks during the vacations, I have used a little bit of time to add the new ITO yarns. Some are still to come. There are already beautiful matching wool packages. Namely OSAKA, a super simple project with a great effect. And some beautiful kits with pattern from Janukke, which I will be able to introduce to you here in a few days. You can already find the Advent shawl, the North Sea Mist shawl and (not ITO but Pascuali) the men's shawl Tinus in the store. There are other beautiful pattern from Janukke with the ITO yarns. We will gradually be making more kits here, but you can also put the yarns together yourself now.

Oh and do you remember my second guest over two years ago here at "Maschenfein meets", Susanne from Paula_m? You can read the interview from back then again over a cup of coffee. Great, there are now some of the beautiful headbands and hats of Susanne also pattern and I may offer them to you here as kits includinginstructionsttern: Ava, Elsa, Ella and Jacques. Nice gifts and in-between projects.

Have a great weekend!
