A wonderful good morning to Saturday coffee with a little this and that from the knitting world.

Saturday Coffee 137 Blog

It hails knitting courses at the moment and maybe the one or the other place is for one or the other of you around the corner: Kathi of My-Ling offers now in October in Bergen (near Chiemsee) two knitting courses, one for beginners and one for baby things. At Wollen Berlin, an Icelandic sweater will be knitted again this winter, the course runs over a few weeks and also starts now in October. At Knit Knit in Berlin you can learn how to knit socks. And in Hamburg there are courses on Fair Isle and Steeken at Mylys in October/November.

Remember this yarn combo from Saturday Coffee two weeks ago? ITO Rakuda with Sensai. I'm in love, both with the material and this pure white. My exuberant spirit of commitment is now putting me under pressure again, because the project, which is already finished in my head, has to be knitted very quickly on the needles and also put on paper. The deadline is approaching at breakneck speed. Sometimes my head just thinks too fast and sometimes this puts me in situations where I really wish to work less impulsively and enthusiastically on all my Maschenfein projects. It will come, step by step. At the end of a week with a bridge day and a study day (aka closed school), though, I do get a little moderately stressed. So I would like to have a day in exile to finish the pattern in my head, write them down and then let the needles really glow afterwards. Let's see when I now succeed.

Not today, anyway, because today you can find me here in Berlin at the ITO Showroom across from the Naturkundemuseum, at the Platz vor dem Neuen Tor 1b in 10115 Berlin Mitte. There you can browse through the yarns, touch all ITO designs from my books (and of course from ITO itself) and (if you like) get your books signed. I'm looking forward to a few cozy hours and I'm curious to see who will drop by.

On November 11, the next Maschenfein knitting meeting will take place in Berlin and unbelievably, all 25 places were sold out within a few hours the day before yesterday. This time we will knit in the premises of SisterMAG, I'm really looking forward to a cozy get-together there. So that means: plan more knitting get-togethers. However, since I am insanely reluctant to have long-term appointments (crazily, three books have nevertheless tumbled out of me), there will still be no regular meetings, but every now and then, when it suits, a relatively spontaneous new event.

By the way, EMF Verlag has published several other beautiful books by colleagues in recent weeks. All books that I like myself, you can also find in my store. For example, the great headbands book of the headband queen Paula knits and the sweater book by Vera Sanon. But of course also great books from other publishers, like the sock book by Stine & Stitch, for which you can also find the three "Soxx Boxes" in the store, with matching yarn for pretty designs. In my own stash I still have a lot of sock yarn in all imaginable colors from an ancient project, where I crocheted Easter eggs from sock yarn for a magazine..... So if a window of opportunity should suddenly open up, I could... hach....

And then a quick info on the Laine magazine that was sold out last Saturday: I have reordered a large batch and the magazine in the store already released for pre-order! So if you still want one and didn't get one last week, you can get one now.

Have a wonderful weekend with some windows of time to knit!
