Salma - melodious and with meaning - that's how we chose the name for our Mother's Day design this year. The name comes from Arabic and means "peaceful, safe, healthy" - all that we wish for ourselves and the world and knit it together in our Salma shawls.
And because sometimes you have to go new ways, this year we decided to go a new, different way around our Mother's Day campaign - less mysterious, more predictable, because current events are already turning everything upside down anyway. That's why this year's Mother's Day design is not secret - but the corresponding Knit-Along will still be there, of course.
Salma is an existing design by Marisa in a completely new look. Knitted from two-thread Sensai it will be a fluffy light companion and through numerous combination possibilities you can really let off steam here color-wise.
Knitted in the patchwork technique - triangle by triangle. Boredom does not arise here, rather a certain addiction factor. Because when a triangle is finished, you already think excitedly, how the appearance will change with the next triangle in a perhaps different color.
In any case, we had a lot of fun knitting the samplers, and we hope you will, too, when the Knit-Along starts on April 1. In advance you will get the start file with all necessary information. The complete pattern will be available at the start of KAL on April 1 in the morning. From then on you can let your needles glow and have enough time to make a wonderful shawl until Mother's Day. A shawl in which you can knit all your good wishes and bring a smile to the face of your mother or another loved one. Or knit a soul-flatterer for yourself and do something good for yourself!

Dimensions

Length of the cloth from two-thread Sensai:
ca. 190 cm, depth: ca. 90 cm
Length of the cloth from two-thread Kosho:
approx. 180 cm, depth: approx. 85 cm

gauge

20 stitches and 44 rows on 10 cm garter stitch
(after washing and tensioning) two-thread from
Sensai or two-thread from Kosho.
