River Cardigan - 2403-02

The River Cardigan from Sandnes Magazine 2403 is a pretty cardigan with cable pattern, knitted from the top down. First cast on stitches for the yoke at the back and knit the back in rows up to the shoulders. Then stitches are picked up from the cast-on edge for the two front pieces and these are knitted separately until they are joined together at the neckline and knitted up to the armpits. At this point, the front and back pieces are joined and the body is knitted to the hem. For the sleeves, stitches are picked up from the armholes and knitted in rounds in the pattern up to the cuff. The button plackets are worked in double knit.
