Manos del Uruguay - Alegria
Alegria from Manos del Uruguay is a classic sock yarn. Only for sock knitting, however, it is in its beautiful colorfulness much too bad! It is a fantastically soft Fair Trade yarn, whose twisting also gives a great uniform stitch definition. The finished knits have excellent resilience and the light weight they remain absolutely stable in shape.
The Alegria is made of the finest merino wool and is superwash treated and thus beautifully easy to care for!
Manos del Uruguay is a unique fair trade project for the women of Uruguay. The cooperative has existed since 1968, enabling women in rural and poor regions of Uruguay to stay on site and feed their families. The company Manos del Uruguay belongs to the women who work there. Manos del Uruguay yarns are more than just knitting wool, they are support and appreciation in a direct way.
The hand dyed yarns are always dyed in trains of 3 kilos. Each skein is unique and is not like any other.
Therefore, before changing the ball, always knit several rows alternately with the new and the old ball so that no strong transitions are visible.
