1st advent Küselsweater

It's the 1st weekend of Advent! Together with you, we're opening the first door of our small but mighty stitch Advent calendar today. Actually, we didn't want to start the competition until Sunday - but who knows: maybe one of the elves has simply brought the publication forward 😉 And that's your luck: you have one day longer!
Up to and including Christmas Eve, you have the chance to win a knitting kit for a Maschenfein design in our Advent calendar. All you have to do is leave a comment here and/or under the corresponding Instagram post. You can find the conditions of participation under the respective blog posts and Instragram posts.
The Küsel Sweater
The first item in our Advent calendar is our Küselsweater. As is sometimes the case, the design wasn't planned at all, but rather came about by chance. But sometimes coincidences are simply the best thing that can happen ...
It all started with the Küselshirt that Marisa knitted on the farm of the same name on Fehmarn. Various yarn combinations ended up in the test knit and they all have their own advantages and characteristics. However, we are particularly fond of Saffira and Manada from Pascuali. Both yarns combine several fiber types and you end up knitting virgin wool, silk, mohair and yak. It couldn't be more beautiful and soft, we can tell you that!

The sweater is knitted seamlessly from the top down. A very fine detail in addition to the ties - which you can also leave out - are the double-face edgings, which are all worked in Italian. This is certainly a little more work when casting on or binding off, but we can say with conviction: It simply looks much, much prettier!
The Küselsweater is definitely a very special design for us - precisely because it wasn't really planned, but just ended up on our needles. With the beautiful color palette of the two yarns, you also have a free choice: should it be something wintery or should you go for pastel colors that you can also wear in spring? The choice is yours!

I would knit the KüselSweater in the wonderful color WALD (218) from the Manada wool, it looks so gorgeous! And because the sweater is so cozy, I would knit it one size larger, in the M, so I could really snuggle up in it. I also like the belt so much, I love details like that!

The color 227 = raspberry red immediately caught my eye in PASCUALI - MANADA. Unfortunately, there is not (yet) a corresponding shade for PASCUALI - SAFFIRA, but there are alternatives.
That's why I would choose EITHER the enchanting GEPARD - WILD & SOFT in the color 426 Candy as the 2nd thread, then the shimmering silk part would also be included.
OR the PASCUALI - MERINO BABY in color 327 = raspberry red!
Regardless of this, a dark blue KÜSELSHIRT would be a super classic that I would definitely wear often for a warm and chic hug! Isn't the trend going towards the second anyway?!!!!
PASCUALI - MANADA in color 214 = Navi would be used together with PASCUALI - SAFFIRA in color 24 = Navi!
I'm 'only' sure that at least one of the two shirts would immediately open up desires and I would have to 'fight' to keep one of them, at least with my inner Monk😂.

Küsel Sweater has exactly the details I like: a slightly wider neckline, double-face finishes and the tie belt. The sleeves are also wide enough to save me at least 23 cm on the circular needle (probably even 30 cm).

I think the Küsel is beautiful, almost elegant. I almost can't decide on the color. Silver gray or eggplant. With a greater tendency towards eggplant. Always these decisions! But when the decision is made, the package has arrived and the first stitches have been cast on, it creates such a great feeling of happiness and excitement, better than a date!

But the Küselsweater totally fulfills my preferences. My color choice weeks ago was hydrangea/ice or Marisa's lilac shade (crocus?).

This fine sweater is a statement to 'do nothing', because you simply can't do the dishes or work with sleeves like this, unless you fold your arms loosely in the sleeves and enjoy the cozy warmth.
As a contrast to the cozy warmth, a cool turquoise blue or cornflower blue would certainly be very chic

A great design, this Küselsweater, simple but with refined details. It goes particularly well with the great cuffs on the Ruth skirt.
I have fallen in love with the beautiful blue, like a little cloud and certainly soooo soft.
Have a wonderful first Advent with hopefully lots of time for our passion, knitting and caressing wool.
I really like it, especially with the lacing. It goes great with the Ruth skirt I'm currently knitting. Thanks for the great suggestions and ideas.

The design is really special. Especially beautiful. The finishes are great. I have also just knitted them on the Levitate Wrap and am happy about them every time I wear it. I'd knit the cowl in blue hydrangea with ice.

I came across your podcast by chance and listened to it with enthusiasm. This podcast has motivated me to knit again. I somehow forgot about it for many years.
I'm still knitting the Osaka scarf, but it will be finished soon and a new project would be great.

I would knit it in the combination of "Cinnamon" and "Sahara". Why? Because I really like cinnamon as a spice and I've never been to the Sahara. Not on Fehmarn either, by the way... And because it's just a great color combination!
