Today I introduce you to a great new book and tell you about a book party at Café Oliv in Berlin Mitte last week. Apart from the fact that a trip alone and without kids to Mitte is always a highlight for me anyway, I was very happy that there was even a real knitting party for this book.

How nice it is to meet the people behind it. The photographer, a friend of the author. The model, the author's sister. And a few faces of the BLV publishing house, which - so far more known in the field of gardening guides - is now also vigorously upgrading its creative guide corner. Hearing the little stories "yep... at that photo, we shot it x times... and look here, that was there and there.... and I spent nights knitting on this tutorial...."

Which book is it about? BLV-Verlag and Nina from Knit Knittoasted to The Ingenious Quick Knitter Bookand at the same time bracelets were knitted diligently at a long table.

I still remember the creation of the book too well and the stories of the night-long knitting through. The book includes a staggering 40 knitting pattern, which of course all had to be thought out, knitted and written down. Inwardly, I have now already put two more projects on my quick "must-knit" list. Namely, the cozy reversible pillow (above) and these super cute gift bags (below). You'll also find, shawls, scarves, hats, arm and leg warmers, jackets, mug warmers and much much more. If you know Nina and maybe even attended one or two of her workshops, you will recognize her style 100% in this book. She likes to teach projects that go quickly, that you can knit in the evening on the sofa and really finish in a few days, maximum a few weeks. Projects with heavier wool and heavier needles, so that it just goes "fast" and the frustration does not even begin.

The book is well suited for beginners, you will find all the basics you need for knitting well illustrated and explained on the first pages. But also experienced knitters who are looking for "clear" projects next to work and everyday life, get their money's worth. I find this cape (above) and raglan jacket (below) beautiful, for example, and they are comparatively quick to knit. The pattern are understandable but not lengthy, beginners will always find references to the appropriate basic techniques at the beginning of the book.

Overall, a very successful book, by the way, also with very beautiful photos! Congratulations, Nina!
