A wonderful good morning to the first Advent weekend! At Maschenfein all signs are pointing to coziness and self-care. Like squirrels, we want to take care of ourselves for winter and the dark season. Our Cozy Weekend is meant to invite you to plan the next project you'll pull out when the mood gets gloomy. What projects can that be? I'll show you today!
Right at the beginning, we would also like to point out that you can use our code cozyweekend10 to get 10% off our product range until tomorrow evening. So it's worth it to browse today. Below I tell you more about the campaign.
Let's Christmas.
As for your knitting plans, if you're already in the mood (or to get yourself in the mood), you could, for example, knit the LICHTERKETTE sweater by Evgeniya Dupliy aka eviknitwear. I mean, it has the word "fairy lights" (german: Lichterkette) in the name - so I had to take a closer look!
And even if it does not blink (you can attach the fairy lights afterwards), it is a fine eye-catcher with its delicate pattern on the torso and sleeves. The model is inspired by the warm cozy feeling that prevails in the Advent and winter time. So it is made for this weekend.
You'll knit the LICHTERKETTE sweater top down in Merino and Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive. A really nice, soft combination. Just made for days that you want to make yourself extra beautiful.
I also love Evgeniya's shawl and scarf designs. Brand new in the Maschenfeinshop is the Blueberry Shawl. Personally, I think that you could stitch "Sandra" directly onto all designs that are knitted in blue in the original, but of course the color choice is completely up to you. I would knit it in pink, but that probably doesn't surprise you.
Asymmetrical shawl blueberry is knitted from the long point to the short side. Frizzy stripes and a hole pattern provide the necessary variety. In the kit you'll find Pinta by Pascuali. And be sure to check out the other kits we've posted by Evgeniya Dupliy. My favorite is the Stokey Shawl from Como by Lamana. Would definitely have potential for a favorite piece.
Yoo-hoo, Marisa, this one's for you
One pattern that I know Marisa is sort of on the verge of falling over and I'm-going-to-knit-all-over plans is the Olive Cardigan V-Neck from Knitting for Olive. But the pattern is also just beautiful! It is knitted - of course - with yarns from Knitting for Olive. Merino and Soft Silk Mohair are also an unbeatable combination. Oh, you prefer round necks? No problem. You can find the corresponding model here.

The better half also wants to be knitted
Of course, love does not stop at knitting. There is this ball of wool that smiles at you so seductively or this project bag that is simply still missing in the collection with its pattern. Or the cute stitch markers that ... uh oh. I digress.
Actually, I wanted to write here about partners to knit. To my shame, I must confess that it has so far "only" enough for a scarf in garter stitch with my husband. I'm sure that's not his fault, but my, let's call it "overflowing", project list. But someday he should really get a sweater.
I'm a big fan of the Moby pattern from PetiteKnit, which has also made it onto a model for men. The Moby Sweater Man is knitted from Peer Gynt by Sandnes. The somewhat more robust yarn fits perfectly with the design, which makes me dream of walks on the Danish beach.
Of course, there are plenty of alternatives for those who prefer simplicity. How about the Jespergenser from Sandnes, for example? Here Kos is processed on 5 needles. Turbo knitters can do this until Christmas - and the somewhat slower (so I) in any case still for this winter.
Are you looking for a little challenge (apart from marriage 😉 )? Then knit the Zipper Sweater Man Light - also like the other Petite Knit model from Peer Gynt. I think the zipper construction is really chic. And if you just stroll through fashion stores, you'll discover this trend there again and again as well. So the knitwear designers had a very good nose. 😉 By the way: You knit all three sweaters top down. So you can let them try on well in between.
Hach, hach, hach
Louisa showed me this cute Christmas sweater with the words "Well, Sophia, that's something for you!". And what can I say. She is right!
The Holly Sweater is but simply sugary sweet for the upcoming holidays. And especially realitic for people like me, who also have three Christmas stockings and a Kolding on the needles. Knitting for Olive's design knits up in two strands of Merino yarn. Thanks to the knit-in Fair Isle pattern, fans of multicolored knitting will also get their money's worth.
You are rather monochrome and therefore with lacemuster on the road? No problem either! Serena's Lacesweater by Carolin Balmes is knitted in Modena by Lamana. The delicate merino cashmere yarn is perfect for this design, I think. Here you knit from the bottom up. So you knit the torso and sleeves separately first, before you gather them on one needle and work the decreases for the raglan slants. In any case, I imagine the sweater very nice for festive meals with the family. And also otherwise for any occasion.
And then I have to put you still a quick, simple project to the heart. The Mia headband by Paula_m is no longer brand new, but no less beautiful for that. You can find it as a kit with Smart and Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes in the store. Double knitted, it definitely keeps your ears warm and looks really good!
Let's get cozy!

You should be really warm this weekend - especially around the heart. I've already told you about it in this blog post: This year's first Advent weekend is something very special for us. Normally, we do not participate in the so-called Black Friday promotions. But what is normal these days?
Because we know that prices are rising everywhere, we wanted to give you something back as a thank you for your loyalty. Until tomorrow evening you get 10% discount on our assortment with the code cozyweekend10. Excluded are items in the category books, PDF pattern, vouchers and our Franzi-Klee products.
So maybe you can treat yourself to that knitting kit you've been wanting for a long time, stock up your needle assortment, or maybe grab one of our brand new maschenfein bags. We on the team each have one and have been unpacking and repacking it for days, simply because it's such a joy to load and marvel at. Do you already know what you want to store in it?
Maschenfein knitting round
Maybe it's a Christmas project or two. As you know, there are a lot of them. You can find inspiration in the Maschenfein store or in our #maschenfeinstrickrunde on Instagram.
For example, Mary's gloves Jane from Peer Gynt and Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes. They would be the perfect Christmas gift, wouldn't they?
But there is also room for many balls of Snefnug and Midnatssol from CaMaRose. They are currently being used by Lisa for the Magnolia Bloom Tunic by Camilla Vad. I knitted the dress as well and l-i-e-b-e it. Really.
Selbstverfreilich you can also store finished projects in it and take it with you. For example, this year's Mother's Day shawl Salma, which is just fresh from the nads at Sandy. Do you also have one? If not: unconditional re-knitting recommendation.
You can also knit the following design: Kirsten knitted the Twist Loop Sweater by Other Loops in Merino and Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive and Piura by Lamana. Up until now, cable knits haven't been on my radar, but this season, no one can pass up the trend. Not even me.
When I scroll through the designs here, I realize that the selection is difficult again. So take your time to browse and then use our code for cozy weekend. Prepare for the dark days and treat yourself to something for your knitting soul. And if you sign up for our Advent newsletter (because the next fine knitting promotion is already waiting for you!), you will also receive a one-time shipping voucher.
I wish you a wonderful first advent and a lot of fun with Maschenfein!

What is the name of the cloth in the title?
