Marta Cardigan - knitting pattern

The hip-length Oversize Cardigan Marta by Lotilda is knitted top down with an edging in a garter stitch pattern and gets its slanted fit in the shoulder area by increases along the shoulder line. Then the left front piece, the back piece and finally the right front piece are knitted separately up to the armholes and then taken together again on one needle and finished.

The sleeves are knitted by picking up stitches from the armholes directly to the top and worked in rounds. The long sleeves and tight cuff create the desired balloon effect. All cuffs are knitted with lifting stitches.

• with 4 threads each and needle 10 mm or according to the gauge in the basic pattern
• 10 x 10 cm = 9 sts x 12 rows

NEEDLES

• Stitch start with 7 mm and 1st row with 8 mm circular knitting needle (here a short rope would be enough, but can of course also be knitted with a long rope).
• Circular knitting needles 9 and 10 mm with 80 cm rope and short circular knitting needles 10 mm with 20 cm (S|M) or 35 cm (L|XL) rope for the sleeves
• the tighter cuffs can be worked with 9 mm circular knitting needle, long rope and the Magic Loop method
