Pitala Cardigan
~Pitala~ (Punjabi = copper) by Sandra Groll is a cardigan knit seamlessly top down Bayak by PASCUALI. Begin with provisional cast on in the center of the neck, from where the collar is worked a piece in both directions before picking up stitches from the edge for the body. The collar pattern of diagonal bands of purl stitches continues in the facing. The "Slanted-Contiguous -Shoulders" are formed in different increase blocks. After the sleeve stitches are set aside, the collar pattern is picked up at increasing intervals on the body, with the center of the back forming an axis of symmetry. The body is finished with a few curly knit rows to prevent curling, and a final I-cord to continue the edge stitches of the facing.
The sleeves are worked stockinette stitch and end in a cuff that picks up the pattern of the facing and body again.
