Description

ITO circular knitting needles made of bamboo are offered in Japanese needle sizes with a pitch of 0.3 mm.

For the needles, the best Japanese bamboo is selected and carefully processed to give the needles a warm, smooth feel. For the dark Koshitsu bamboo needles (up to 10 mm), the material is stored for up to 10 years and additionally steamed. This makes the bamboo very hard and it cannot bend as easily as light bamboo when knitting due to hand heat. This is particularly advantageous for smaller needle sizes. The Koshitsu bamboo needles are additionally treated with natural wax, so that they get a very nice surface. For the larger needle sizes, light-colored Shirotake bamboo is used, which is dried in the sun and further processed with natural oils. The needles are made with modern machines and then polished by hand and carefully controlled.

The ITO premium needles are produced sustainably, in an artisan workshop between Osaka and Kyoto that has been producing high quality knitting needles for over 100 years.

The asymmetrical circular knitting needles are available in 23 cm length in sizes from 2.1 mm to 6.6 mm. The short tip measures 5 cm, the long tip 6 cm. The needles are particularly suitable for small projects knitted in rounds such as socks, sleeves, wrist warmers, etc.

All circular knitting needles have a smooth transition from the needle to the cable and rotating cables, which makes knitting very comfortable.
