BC Yarn - Big Bio Balance - GOTS certified
Big Bio Balance is the heavier version of the popular Bio Balance. it is ideal for garments that are to be worn at room temperature. Also great for babies and toddlers as it is soft, only slightly warming and not fuzzy. The colors are a bit matte due to the cotton content, and because wool and cotton absorb dyes differently, it creates a slight mélange effect. Big Bio Balance should not be knitted too loosely.
Responsibility
The virgin wool comes from South America and is mulesing free. The cotton comes from Turkey and there the yarn is also spun and dyed. BC Yarn focuses on GOTS certified yarns. Currently, 15 BC Yarn qualities are GOTS certified and thus verifiably produced according to strict animal and environmental protection standards. By the way, the GOTS seal is in a way also a guarantor for fair trade, because in all stages of production also criteria like fair wages, labor protection and working conditions, social responsibility and anti-corruption guarantees are checked. Currently, BC Yarn is working on two yarn innovations that are produced with non-violent silk, i.e. silk for the extraction of which the silkworms do not have to die.
