{Saturday Coffee & Net Talk}

Have you already felt the spring fever? For me, yes. Maschenfein is, in this sense, a really, really bad dating site. It's virtually impossible to commit to just one match here. Not everything is a perfect Jane Austen world! Raise your hand if you've ever been unfaithful to a current knitting project!

I wish you a wonderful good morning to the Saturday coffee with pairing factor! You'll notice, it does not take long to fall in love here ...

Here it was done around me

Within the Maschenfein team we have quite similar tastes with a few nuances here and there (Just thinking about putting our partners side by side ...). Jule and Louisa, for example, have an eye for Norwegian patterns that I sometimes wouldn't even see. Sandra discovers designs with that certain something, Marisa has a knack for yarn combinations and I always run into my misfortune because I listen to one of them and try something new. Each has its strengths!

However, we were different in the reception of the Melange Sweater from PetiteKnit. Because: You have to like this irregularity, of course. People with pronounced Monk (Psst! Sandra!) find this more difficult of course. Since I have no or not more than a small mini-monk, I was on the other hand thrilled. Especially when I discovered this color variant on Instagram.

In the original, the adult version is knitted from Tynn Peer Gynt by Sandnes. But we have also created for you a kit with Sunday by Sandnes - by the way, also the choice of yarn for the babyand junior version.

Knit the design top down, starting first with the back, which is formed at the top with short rows. Then pick up stitches from the shoulders to knit the front part. Under the arms, everything is then finished in the round. Next, pick up stitches for the sleeves, and then knit those in the round as well, all the way to the cuffs. The sweater is really simple - the eye-catcher is the choice of color. But what color would you like?

The agony of choice

The selection is big enough for sure. You can combine similar colors for a soft effect or choose a strong contrast - just as you like. Personally, I would choose the contrast a bit bigger. Just be sure not to take your eyes off the sink when washing the finished knit. It is better to change the water in between, if the colors bleed more and possibly put a color catcher cloth (you can find them in the drugstore).

When the Monk cries too much ...

Farnham Sweater
Neatly separated color areas on the Farnham Sweater. The inner Monk likes it!

... of course I also have something! Because it's like any dating aao: Sometimes the profile of the counterpart just does not fit. And since we are not here at speed dating (would be perhaps an idea for a new blog category!), We have enough time to look at other designs.

There is also the Farnham Sweater from The Knit Purl Girl. Sunday is also used here, supplemented by Tynn Silk Mohair. The two just go so well together - you can tell by the color palettes. "It's a match," say the dating pros. "Birds of a feather flock together," is what my grandma would call it.

Like cozy!

However. The sweater is knitted top down, dropped shoulders are formed by short rows. The collar comes at the very end and gets its shape by small decreases.

What I particularly like about the design is that you can choose between different eases, meaning: you decide how loose or how fitted your sweater should sit. And we all know that the comfort in a relationship first increases when you have the initial phase behind you. Loose-fitting designs are therefore particularly practical.

Dress and skirt love

Lola Kjole

Allgood Dress

That's the beauty of knitting anyway: You just knit yourself what you like and fell good in. Knitting designs are just so versatile! For example, how about a skirt or dress for this year? After all, we all knitted ourselves the Tiril shorts last year, so we know: we can have it all! At least in terms of knitting.

The skirt above, for example, is the design Enkelt skirt by Arnhild Skatvedt. It is also suitable for beginners and is knitted from the top down. The pattern on the sides gives a nice silhouette. With the yarn combination Line from Sandnes and Merino from Knitting for Olive you will also not be too warm.

She, knitter, looking for marathon runner for stockinette laps

The design Lola Kjole from the latest Sandnes magazine is more for the advanced (and permanent lovers - because here many rounds are worked stockinette stitch). Wow, that's all I can say. It looks just gorgeous! But in the end, every knitter definitely deserves a medal for perseverance. Small consolation: Line from Sandnes is really pleasant to knit.

The same applies to the Allgood Dress from Knitonomy. Knitted here in the original with Merino from Knitting for Olive. We have created the kit with Cotton Merino (also from Knitting for Olive). Both will work, but in summer the pure merino yarn might be too warm. Either way, the design will be beautiful. It's just the kind of dress I would wear to a market in the south of France. I would wear it here, too, of course, but our market is not quite as atmospheric as the one in a Provençal village. Ok, fine. You take what you can get and I can still look pretty when buying bananas ("Did she just get her soup vegetables and a kilo of apples in a white dress?!"). Now I just need someone with whom I can take turns knitting all the rounds here too.

Back to Maschenfein: Water shawl made of Water

Water cloth. A must have!

Now I'll show you something you absolutely have to have (So in a dating app you would swipe right now, at Maschenfein you just put it on your wish list. Or directly into the shopping cart): The Water shawl from Water is back! This design, I'm telling you ... Is like the childhood sweetheart you meet again years later. This is what Marisa wore back then, it was 2018, over and over again. And then you just saw it in Instagram Stories. I mean that once it was even "just" hanging on the wardrobe. But the attentive knitting eye discovers something like that immediately.

And I was not alone. The requests were so numerous that the pattern (there is of course also individually) was finished more than fast. The original was knitted from the eponymous yarn Water by Wooladdicts by Lang Yarns. For logistical reasons we didn't have it in the store for a while. This was not a problem, because we had a super cozy alternative with Snefnug by CaMaRose.

But now that the snow is melting away and perhaps spring will come soon, something less warming is allowed and we are therefore even more pleased that we have Water back in stock.

Of course, as always, there remains the question of the appropriate color combination. I knitted mine in the original colors at the time(rose, light gray mélange and offwhite), but I also imagine the bright blue(Topaz) as the main color great or maybe it should be a shawl with green tones? Questions upon questions! Our support team may know the answer. If you need help, write Sandra and Jule a mail and they will help you to combine (support@maschenfein.de).

Give crochet a chance!

In terms of needlework, yes, I lead an open relationship. Safe haven (and also the greatest love among them) is, of course, knitting. I could just do it all the time . But I can definitely also get something out of other techniques. For a while, for example, I did a lot of sewing. The assembly and disassembly of the sewing machine and especially the cutting eat up too much time for me, which is why I have always reached for the needles.

Hobo bag
Now with Ica in the Maschenfeinshop: Hobo Bag by Paula_m.

But last summer I developed affection for crochet thanks to the Hosta Bag by Sidsel Sanglid. And when the knitting needles are all full but the crochet hook is empty, that can only mean a new crochet project, right? Right?!!! Louisa and I agreed immediately, at least in our last editorial meeting.

So I could imagine very well to strike the Hobo Bag of Paula_m. Susanne has tested during her vacation with Ica from Lamana and found it good. So we created the matching crochet kit and I'm now sitting in front of it and thinking about what color it may be - because there was also growth. Somehow basalt blue calls for me so ...

Maschenfein knitting round

Before you now packed all your wish lists, filled the cart and generally browsed through the store, I show you quickly a few projects from the Maschenfeinstrickrunde. Because they are also always a bad good inspiration!

Photos via Instagram: © instagram.com/heik.e1005 / instagram.com/woolnatic

Of course, I have not selected the following photos for you because of the colors. Of course not! But the MåHa sweater by Arnhild Skatvedt is just too beautiful. See here at Heike. In this Saturday Coffee I wrote you something about possible yarn combinations.

At Judith 's you can admire a lilac model - namely the Home Cardigan by Caidree. She knitted it with Big Merino Hug from Rosy Green Wool and Midnatssol from CaMaRose.

I'm also super excited about Kristin's Twist Loop Sweater. Knitted from a Knitting for Olive Lamana combo, it's guaranteed to be a favorite.

I discovered the last picture from our knitting round at Lisa 's, who is in charge of our maschenfein design forge. The great color selection of Børstet Alpakka by Sandnes is for The Valley Cardigan by Laura Dalgaard.

Well, I for one am in love. Of course, as is often the case, it's a bit of polyamory, but in this context, I'm okay with that. What knitting projects can't you decide between?

Have a great weekend with lots of knitting time!

Elke

Dear Maschenfein team,
I think the Melange Sweater is super fast and would like to make it again. The wool I have
the wool (6046 Electric blu and 1099 swart from Sunday), which I would like to order from you
I would also like to order from you, provided I can get the pattern. I have tried via Ravelry to order the
pattern, but I can't get them. Maybe you can help me there?
Is it also possible to get the tutorial through you?
I would be pleased about an answer.

With kind regards
Elke Ulrich

Louisa

Dear Elke,
did you buy patterns on Ravelry before and the problem is new now? Or are you using Ravelry for the first time? If that is the case, I'll try to briefly explain the betell steps: If you want to buy a tutorial on Ravelry, you can purchase it using the buttons on the right side (in mobile view, click on "purchase" under the photos). There you can choose either "buy now" or "add to cart" and you will be guided through the ordering process. Afterwards you will find the manual in your library ("library") - but you will also get a download link via email. You can then choose in which language you want to download the manual.
Alternatively, you can buy the tutorial directly from the designer: https://www.petiteknit.com/en/collections/melering/products/melange-sweater
Note, however, that in both cases it is a digital tutorial to print out yourself.
If you need further help, feel free to contact us at any time by mail at support@maschenfein.de, this way we can help you best individually.
Best regards,
Louisa

Andrea

Hello dear Maschenfein team,
once again soooo nice to read....der Samstagskaffee☕️.

Can it be that with the "deletion" or termination of the Advent calendar (I had treated myself of course🥰), also the "normal" Newletter dispatch was deleted. I was registered to both, since the end of Advent logically not only this remains off, but also the regular. Sign me up times new...so I do not miss anything 😉.

Love greetings

Andrea Cramer

Louisa

Dear Andrea,
actually the advent calendar had nothing to do with the other newsletter. But somehow you didn't seem to get any mail from us after 11.2. Very strange. But I can see that your "resumption" was successful and you should receive our mails again from now on.
Kind regards
Louisa

Corinna

Hello dear Maschenfein-Team,

by the way, it happened to me the same way. I had to sign up for the newsletter again.

But unfortunately, since then I can not put any designs with the heart as a favorite in my wish list. That's a shame, because with all the beautiful designs, it's very easy to lose track 🙂 .

Can you help me here?

Love Easter greetings

Corinna

Sophia

Dear Corinna, thank you for your feedback! I have sent you an email so that we can quickly find a solution to your problem. Best regards! Sophia

Elke

Hello, also could not get past the dress and ordered the wool. Unfortunately I have problems with the pattern. Credit card is not accepted. Was no problem with the pattern for the melange sweater. What do I have to do to get the pattern? Otherwise it makes no sense. Kind regards Elke

Sophia

Dear Elke, I have sent you an email. I hope we will find a solution! Love, Sophia

Birgitta

Wow, what a "dangerous date" but also! So many great ideas and the color variations shown. Simply stunningly beautiful. Only what I will probably choose?
Luckily I have a relaxed look again....
Have yesterday for the 2nd time an evening for dear people who "can not afford it so easy" and yet very much want to knit something.
The diligent colleagues could choose something from my wool 🧶 which has not knitted under my bed in a box slumbered.
I always get very well-intentioned wool as a gift and then do not like people with a no, is nothing for me in front of the head. Do you know that also / the thing with the gifts so not to your taste ?! The wool is then so brought to life and I can leave carefree to the "next date "judihudi but also!

A huge gift is your support! Thanks to Jule 😊! With a lot of empathy and expertise there's really very good advice. Not just so helpful, but a tremendous support! A gift of lasting value, so to speak! Especially when the forest is full of trees 🌲 and you do not know what to do.

Maria

Hello, are there the pattern for the snanoe cardigan already
? Or even as a kit?

Sophia

Hello Maria! No, the tutorial for the cardigan is still "in the making." 🙂 So a little patience is still needed. Best regards! Sophia

Angelica

Aaaaaargh, this Saturday coffee is once my ruin! I have a stash of wool at home, but of course I couldn't pass by that amazing dress! Shock in love!!!
