Let's face it: Christmas is just over six months away! That scares you, doesn't it? Me too. Because even as a maschenfein Christmas representative, I can't think about winter decorations and Christmas sweaters right now. Neither can the rest of the team - as the current round of Auf den Nadeln shows. But at least I wanted to let you know! And now have fun reading about our current projects, which are hardly wintery at all. But read for yourself:

There's always room for a little fluff

Do you know what the best thing about knitting is? Apart from the hobby itself, of course? That you're not alone with your addiction. And with your many project ideas ... Our developer Judith feels the same way:

The Peacock Tee by Lene Holme Samsøe has been sitting in my basket for two years now and do you know what made me finally cast it on? The Fluffy Fleece Vest from Knitmitjo 🤭 I want to knit this vest so badly! But I can't do that until I've at least finished the pattern piece for the Peacock Tee. I can already see a chain reaction of knitting projects in my mind's eye. Like a small row of dominoes, the knitting projects will hop up onto the needles and, with a bit of luck, down again 😉.

Attention: Here comes the fluffy and cozy knit that Judith already mentioned. Vests are simply on trend - and Lisa has already cast on.

Sometimes you need a new knitting project as a therapeutic quick fix. The Fluffy Fleece Vest, which I discovered one evening in the Maschenfein store, was just what I needed. And best of all: Jule, Mirjam and Judith are already infected 😉 Who else? Thanks to large needles and the lack of sleeves, you'll get there in no time at all... not to mention the Teddy Dear yarn from Gepard- Kuschelfaktor, which is so convincing that you'll want a comforter made from it. I swear!

The vest is also on Mirjam's list. But something else has to be finished first.

While I'm waiting for my package with the Fluffy Fleece Vest, I'm continuing to knit my Tiril shorts - I already knitted the "classic" last summer, but then paused for reasons. Now I'm hoping to be able to wear them on vacation in France - luckily it's a long drive! 🙂

Lots of Maschenfein

In addition to many other great designs, there are also maschenfein designs on our needles. Our student Hannah's work includes a mini shawl:

I finally have a Romini on my needles, in this pretty dove blue. Of course, you can't see the striking crochet cables yet, I still have the middle section and the decreases to do. But I'm sure I'll get them done quickly, because the Romini (as I've already tried out ;-)) is also a great project for the lecture hall or train journeys thanks to its compactness.

Romini's big sister is on my needles. As was to be expected, I didn't finish this year's Mother's Day shawl on time.

... but that doesn't matter! I'm still very fascinated by the Mother's Day shawl Romy and I'm determined not to crochet anything new until the cozy dream is finished. After all, two crochet cables have already been completed! A few more decreases, another cable and the edging - then it's off to summer knitting!

Psst ... a new design!

Sandra is currently working on a new design for us. Marisa came up with the idea. And to make sure you all get something out of it soon, our head of support is really stepping on the gas!

I'm in a hurry ... with my current Blitz project Brevue Shirt made from Suave and Arctic Pearl by Pascuali. I want to test the pattern as quickly as possible so that it can be on your needles soon. What started out as an idea at Frau Maschenfein, continued in a conspiracy with Pascuali (Marisa had asked Paul to send me yarn for the yarn so that it could become a pattern, so I couldn't help it - haha), will hopefully - surely - end in a great pattern for you.

By the way, the yarn combination of the two knitted in garter stitch is the top hit. Look forward to it!

Meanwhile, our support colleague Chris is devoting herself to a project she discovered at h+h. Inspiration is lurking around every corner!

I discovered the Lova Tee by Britt-Marie Brehmer at the Ito stand at h+h in March. It was hanging there as a pattern and I was immediately in love with the casual, uncomplicated pattern. Add to that the beautiful yarn combination of Kinu and So Asa and it was immediately on my knitting list.

It's a really relaxed knitter - but that was a bit of a downfall for me this time: I had it with me for a holiday get-together with friends, knitted diligently and chatted happily. It was only shortly before the division for the armholes that I realized that a stitch marker had slipped and the raglan increase no longer fit at one point.

Phew ... unraveling double-threaded knits is not really my thing - so I've been slowly knitting back and am now paying extra attention. Also - or rather: precisely because it is so "easy" to knit.

Louisa is also ahead of me when it comes to summer knitting. But her pattern is also on my list. I simply have to try out this yarn!

I admit it: on the first day of June, I have three summer tops on my needles. Over the last few days, I've needed the wonderful feeling of starting a new project. Among other things, I now have the Shoreline Top from Coco Amour on my needles. The CottonWaves yarn from Gepard is really something special. I've never knitted anything like it!
