Will April do what it wants weather-wise? Probably. What is reliable, however, are the Maschenfein forecasts: there will definitely be knitting. And a lot of it. Both summery influences and the odd low-pressure system are possible. As always, we are prepared for anything. What projects are in the team? You can find out in the latest article from Auf den Nadeln.

Equipped for any weather

This month we start with Louisa, who is already preparing for the summer:

I wrote a newsletter to our subscribers the other day and told them that we realize that spring is coming: orders for the Sandnes quality line are increasing significantly! I picked out suitable styles and once again fell victim to my job. It's really bad when you're constantly having to deal with the most beautiful yarns and designs 😉 And so I'm now knitting myself into summer with the Montpellier Top Light from November Knits.

Our working student Hannah is also gearing up for warm temperatures:

Knitting-wise simple, but stylistically daring, I'm continuing with summer knits. The West Wrap from Sandnes has an open back - not something you'd normally find in my closet, but I can imagine it being so great on a warm summer's day! Plus, a 'half' top is also twice as quick to knit!

Chris, on the other hand, ist preparing for the weather in north-western Europe. How practical that knitwear always works!

Between all the beautiful spring knits - from just cast on to almost finished - a heavier yarn has crept in again.

I'm going to Scotland again in May and a cardigan was still on the list. As I already have two great hiking sweaters made from Léttlopi by Ístex, the choice of yarn was quite simple - and a suitable design was also quickly found: the Port Jacket by Ozetta Knitwear, of course! What can I say? With 5 mm needles, it almost knits itself. And there's a lot of vacation anticipation in every stitch ...

Almost finished and doing well

Jule is so hard-working and consistent right now: she has a very specific goal in mind ... 😉

I have to show you my Treysta again. I've finally finished the first sleeve and unfortunately forgot the smaller needle for the cuff at home over the weekend. Great! But then it will be put aside and I'll continue with the next sleeve. I really want to finish it before I make the Romy Mother's Day shawl with you on April 11. Keep your fingers crossed for me 🙂

Mirjam has put a proud smile on her little daughter's face - and on ours too!

Of course I can't keep the finished ALWAYS 4-EVER UNICORN SWEATER from Wool & Beyond from you. It was worn straight to daycare on her birthday 🦄 - I think that's so great! 🥰
Of course, the needles haven't stayed empty and I'm knitting the Brevue Cardigan myself - once again using an alternative yarn: Tynn Peer Gynt with Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes - which I bought months ago for the DIY magazine. Now it's finally being used. And then I'm sure summer knitting will start soon.

From sweaters to small projects. Mini projects are just too practical as gifts! Which is why Judith is knitting the same design several times ...

I'm very lucky to still have regular contact with my school friends. But now it's the case that you usually have to celebrate round birthdays on top of each other. So I had the bright idea of giving a friend a Sophie Scarf from PetiteKnit for her 40th. What can I say: I am now on no. 3 (of 4 - but anything is possible). This time I went for the color Hashi (716) in Cashmere Classic by Cardiff. I don't even need any more stitch markers - the scarf is an open book for me. And isn't this color magically spring-like?

Once again you will discover a little project of mine. I simply had to knit something from the new maschenfein shawl book!

I'm also in mini scarf fever at the moment. In addition to three Sophie Scarfs (all guest gifts), I'm particularly taken with our book Mini Tücher - Maxi Chic. I found it hard to decide, but ended up with the cover shawl Melli, which is knitted from Brushlight by Cardiff.

Luckily, you can knit mini shawls all year round! I am very, very sure that I will have to knit a few more designs from the booklet.

Become part of the Maschenfein knitting round

And what are you knitting in April? Feel free to tell us in the comments or show us in our knitting rounds on Facebook or Instagram, where we use the hashtag #aufdennadeln and #maschenfeinstrickrunde. Even better, tag us - then we can find your pictures more easily and are happy to share them in the stories or in the Saturday coffee.

Is this your first time here? Every month we collect our knitting projects and plans on social media. You can find all past collections to browse through in the On the Needles section.
