{Saturday Coffee & Net Talk}
The time has come: the last days of November are upon us and Advent is just around the corner. For retailers, small and large artists alike, this is the start of a busy, exciting time. After all, gifts that are made by hand take time.
Traditionally, the second half of November is characterized by many discounts and offers. As you know, we don't take part in (artificial) races for the lowest price - that doesn't go hand in hand with our appreciation for our manufacturers and cooperation partners. Instead, this year we are once again hosting a cozy weekend - a cozy weekend that is all about knitting.
Let's get cozy
Have a wonderful good morning on this fall weekend! I've got lots of beautiful new designs for you today - and a little Maschenfein promotion! Because even if there are no big discounts, we still want to make you happy!
Up to and including tomorrow evening, when you buy at least one more product in our store (regardless of the order value), you'll receive a free Maschenfein pattern. Simply add the corresponding pattern to your shopping cart and use the code cozyweekend2024. If you have several Maschenfein patterns in your shopping cart, the most expensive one will be free after using the code. The code can only be redeemed once per customer. Please understand that it cannot be redeemed retrospectively. So make sure you use it correctly before you pay.
New from ChrisBerlin
Of course, there are now a whole host of our own designs. To make it a little easier for you to choose, today I'm presenting new designs by other great women and ideas to go with them. You decide what you want to knit in the end and let's be honest: we all have that (virtual) folder of patterns that we really want to work up one day!
ChrisBerlin has the honor of kicking things off this week. I'm really excited about her new design! The Criel Cardigan is a cozy cardigan that is knitted from the top down. Thanks to the Como Cashmere yarn from Lamana, it is nice and light, not too heavy and still keeps you warm. The two different cables are eye-catching.
Cozy with the Birdy Cardigan
Without cables, but just as cozy is our maschenfein Birdy cardigan. You can always use cardigans! This cardigan is also knitted from the top down. The facing is worked using the double-face technique, which makes it look particularly beautiful (don't worry - you'll find all the information you need in the pattern!)
You have two options for the yarn: You can knit with Como Grande from Lamana and Water from Wool Addicts like Marisa did with the original model, or you can use the alternative - Como Grande with Midnatssol from CaMaRose. We had considered this because just after the design was tied up, we were informed that the Lang Yarns quality Water would be discontinued. However, our stocks are still well filled: So you can still get (almost) all your favorite colors!
Fresh pattern from Lotilda
I stumbled across the Marta V Basic Jumper from Lotilda in the store just because of the color. You could really use a fluffy splash of color like this in the current weather!
Tanja has chosen Mohair Luxe from Lang Yarns for this model, which is knitted from the top down. The mohair-silk yarn is slightly "heavier" than other silk-mohair qualities, but still beautifully soft and light. In this case, you knit it in three strands.
You're on your way with the Maschenfein Cloud Sweater in five strands (or six strands for the alternative with Sensai from Ito). Marisa chose Cashmere Dreams from Lang Yarns on a whim and ended up with a feather-light cozy dream.
This is also knitted from the top down. The pattern are suitable for beginners and easy to knit. Both yarns are also available in Christmas shades. I'll just add this in case anyone wants to knit something for their festive wardrobe but doesn't have the time or leisure for elaborate fair isle patterns (I know this problem!!).
Basic part from Paula_m
You have three knitting sets to choose from with the Robin Sweater V-Neck from Paula_m. The sweater with batwing sleeves is the V-neck version of the Robin Sweater. Both are knitted from the top down. As is often the case with Susanne, the new design also impresses with its simplicity, which makes it easy to combine with other items of clothing.
For the yarn, you can choose between single-thread Como Cashmere from Lamana or Cashmere Classic from Cardiff. If you want a little extra fluffiness, go for Milano and Premia from Lamana.
Wide sleeves, tight cuffs
The combination of wide sleeves but tapered cuffs has something special about it - and you'll also find it in our Effie Sweater. This understated style is knitted in stockinette stitch, but has an implied shoulder seam that makes this design something special.
I particularly like the turtleneck - it can't be cozy enough for me right now! The highlight here: You work a twisted rib. This takes a little longer to knit, but creates a beautiful effect. For the yarn, you can choose between Como Grande and Premia from Lamana or you can combine Premia with Snefnug. Both will be beautifully soft!
Knit-chic also further down
As you know from last Saturday's coffee at the latest, there (almost) can't be enough knitwear on our bodies (exceptions prove the rule, I might have a separate coffee on April 1st ;-)).
So today, it's essential to have something to wear underneath - in this case, Skirt No. 1 from My Favorite Things Knitwear. The mini skirt has an A-line shape and can be styled with an oversized sweater for a cosy look or with a blouse for an office look. The choice is yours! It is knitted with the yarn Høst from CaMaRose held double. The marled yarn gives you a similar look to the original from Luise.
When it comes to skirts, our Ruth model is of course a must. I love, love, love mine! Our design has a straight cut, but has a few increases at the hips for a perfect fit.
Work the hem using the double-face technique. If you find it difficult to knit tight enough here, you can also simply work a folded hem. I went down a little with the needle size, knitted the corresponding number of centimetres, then purled a row and then worked the same amount of stockinette rows as before. Then fold over and sew in place. Done! The Merino 120 yarn is soft but robust and can also be machine washed (carefully!).
New in the store - you have to see it!
I have to admit that I found it incredibly difficult to choose for this saturday coffee again. Jule and Charlotte have put together so many beautiful knitting kits for you! As well as cute, Christmassy accessories, there are also some great scarves and shawls. The Lene shawl by Woll-Kultur made from Cashmere Light by Lang Yarns, for example, is a wonderful companion for winter. And the new bag collection from PetiteKnit is already on its way to our warehouse. Whether a large project bag, classic shopping bag, filled accessory bag or needle and accessory case - these are all perfect Christmas gifts! Put your name on the product waiting list and you will receive an email as soon as the items arrive in stock.
Translated exclusively for you
The Double Knit Scarf from Hello, Hygge Life, which I showed you last Saturday, also generated a lot of enthusiasm this week. The unisex design is also a great Christmas present.
The English pattern has caused a little inhibition for some. We have remedied this: Louisa has translated everything important. If you buy the knitting set and can prove that you have purchased the original pattern, we will be happy to send you the translation. Just send us an e-mail to "support@maschenfein.de". Please include your order number and proof of purchase 🙂
Maschenfein patterns
So if you're busy filling your shopping cart now, you should definitely browse through our Maschenfein patterns. We now have so many own designs. Whether it's a shawl, large scarf, sweater or cardigan - you'll find so much here. I've linked a few of our bestsellers below, but I also recommend checking out the entire overview on this page. There's bound to be something for your personal pattern library!
Incidentally, the code is also valid in the matching knitting sets. For example, anyone who buys the knitting set for this year's Mother's Day shawl will receive the pattern for the shawl free of charge.

Another listening tip for the weekend
So while you continue to browse, you can listen to our latest podcast episode (in German). I had a virtual meeting with Sharon Maninger, who you may know better by her stage name Kleinigkeitenliebe.
You can find lots of atmospheric photos on her Instagram profile - of her garden as well as her knitting designs. So it was only a matter of time before I had to get her in front of the microphone for our podcast. We talked for almost an hour and I'm already looking forward to meeting Sharon again next year at the industry trade fair in Cologne!
Maschenfein knitting round
Finally, there is another insight into our Maschenfein knitting round. There, of course, you will also discover our patterns again and again:
Jule seems to be new to Instagram (not our Maschenfein Jule, of course ;-)). In any case, we are delighted that the first picture shows a Maschenfein model - namely the Ava shawl.
Claudia is doing a mother-daughter knit-along. They knit this year's Christmas shawl Elli together - once in the color curry and once in nature. Both are beautiful and we hope you enjoy knitting them together!
I hope I was able to slow you down a little with this little knitted coffee. Please continue to make yourselves comfortable on our site and make sure you get your Maschenfein pattern! Have a wonderful weekend with lots of knitting time!
