As they say so often? "Every season has something special about it." That's true, of course, and yet fall unfolds its very own magic for all knitting enthusiasts. It just gets going again! New projects are sighted, the heavier yarns are put on the needles and it's time to get cozy.

In this inspiration, we have put together our knitted fall favorites. You'll find lots of beautiful knitted designs that will get you through the cold season. There are also a few little helpers to brighten up your "old" treasures. Have fun reading and browsing!

Maschenfein designs and other favorites

Indispensable for us in fall: cardigans. They are just so incredibly practical because you can put them on and take them off quickly. They keep us warm on cloudy days and if we catch a golden fall day, we simply use them as a jacket or put them around our shoulders.

We also particularly like the brioche pattern. It's catchy and yet makes a statement. It is used on our Hortensie Cardigan, for example. With the patch pockets, the design also exudes the right amount of coziness. Three different knitting sets offer enough choice for all knitting preferences!

Speaking of jackets or jacket substitutes: our Seiser cardigan also cuts a fine figure. With a cozy sweater underneath, you won't go wrong when it's not too cold, and if it is too cold: the design also fits well under a coat or keeps you warm at your desk. And what's the saying? A (wide) stripe is still possible!

With structure through the pattern

Dagmar Jacket
You can't avoid it: textured patterns like the Dagmar Jacket from PetiteKnit.

Textured patterns are definitely a thing at the moment - and always have been. There's no getting around it and of course there are a variety of options here too. You can limit yourself to a uniform pattern or choose a mix like the Dagmar Jacket from PetiteKnit.

Generally speaking, this type of pattern requires a certain amount of knitting experience. Textured patterns are often also or even exclusively given as so-called charts in the pattern. However, once you have become accustomed to reading these special charts, you will never want to do without them again. And the same applies to knitting as everywhere else: You grow with your tasks.

Team favorites

Then, of course, there are knitwear pieces that you'll be happy to wear all summer long when you can wear them again in the fall. If you have them in your wardrobe at all - they are just so beautiful and not too heavy. A favorite in the Maschenfein team is definitely the Montrose Cardigan by Coco Amour aka Cheryl Mokhtari.

Styles like this are for those who don't want their knitwear to be too tight. Rather loose and boxy, it goes well with tighter pants. Just add a simple shirt underneath - and you're done!

Knitting for men and children

The start of a new season is always a good reason to sort out your own wardrobe - and that of other family members! 😉

At Maschenfein you can also find lots of knitting kits for men and children. Whether it's a nice raglan sweater for the man or a new cardigan for the child - we have plenty to choose from.

Get started now with hats, cuffs and more

No fall wardrobe can do without knitted little things. When the first cold wind blows around the corners and you can expect rain showers at any time, a cozy hat, a small (or large) scarf and a pair of cuffs are essential! And don't even get us started on warm socks and slippers on cold floors ...

In our team, we have found that such small projects are simply incredibly practical. Also for the knitting list. They simply don't really count. There are no sleeves on them, for example - ha!

Knitted collars also kill two birds with one stone: not only do they keep your chest and back warm, they also protect your neck from draughts and cold winds. Knitwear designers know this too and have already made us happy with many beautiful designs such as the Vinnje Collar from Rosa P.

Maintaining old and new knitted pieces

If you take a look at the contents of your closet, you will often find that some items are getting a bit long in the tooth but just need a little love and care to restore them to their former glory. At Maschenfein you will of course also find an extensive selection of suitable products. Wool detergent and blocking accessories are also essential for your new knitwear.

The great thing about knitwear is that it doesn't need to be washed often. On the contrary! It is often enough to air out the sweater. Nevertheless, a bath is sometimes necessary, especially after completing a project or at the end of the season. And your summer knitwear may also need another round of care before it is safely stored away for the next warm season.

We stock several manufacturers of wool detergents in the Maschenfein store. At Kaëll, for example, you will find different types for different fiber types. After the bath, it then goes onto the blocking mats to dry and, if necessary (for example with shawls), you fix the knitted piece with the help of comb needles and tension wires to achieve the desired shape or the required dimensions. Cedar balls, such as those from PetiteKnit, protect your treasures in the wardrobe from unwanted moths.

PetiteKnit - Mohair brush
Freshen up your fluffy treasures: Mohair brush from PetiteKnit.

Use brushes to freshen up fluffy knitwear and wool combs to remove pills from woolly knitwear. As a general rule, please test on an inconspicuous area and work carefully.

As you can see, the cozy knitting season is really starting now. Let us know in the comments which fall project you'll be tackling next!

But I'm really spoiled for choice.
This fall/winter, I want a beautiful, high-quality cardigan. My favorites so far have been Jenny Jacket, Artesan Cardigan and Audrey Jacket. Now the Hortensie Cardigan and Montrose Cardigan are joining them. I also really like the Dagmar Jacket, but I would prefer a tapered neckline. I'm definitely running out of time for all of them. I'll probably have to choose one.
