{Saturday Coffee & Net Talk}
Every week on Monday and Tuesday I make a list of things I want to tell you about and show you in Saturday Coffee. Of course, deviations are always possible. But I'm rarely as much in change mode as this week. There was just so much - in the very best sense!
A wonderful good morning to a jam-packed Saturday coffee with plenty of net chatting. Grab your big coffee mug and make yourselves comfortable. Have fun reading!
Knitting list filled until the beginning of 2026
There are designs that I have to look at two or three times before I think: "Yes, yes, that's great!" And then, of course, there are designs where it's as clear as day at first glance: I'd love to have THAT on my needles ("I want that" sounded too infantile to me - even though the phrase often pops into my head).
The Scarlet Cardigan from PetiteKnit definitely belongs in the second category. My goodness - I've fallen in love with it! On the one hand, it is rather simple, on the other hand, it has fine details, such as lines of raised stitches that give the whole thing structure.

Original color? Subsequent delivery is on the way!

Knit from the top down, knitting the back with short rows to shape the shoulders. The great shoulder seam, which you can see in the product photos in the knitting kit, is an I-cord. Ingenious, isn't it? I'm sure that despite its simplicity, the pattern promise a lot of knitting fun!
You'll be working with Double Sunday from Sandnes. As was to be feared, the original color Dyp Burgundy is empty, but (!) Sandnes is sending another delivery to the warehouse. Fortunately! The Norwegian yarn manufacturer is on vacation for four weeks. If you don't want to wait: the color is available for the Sunday yarn. If you use the yarn twice, you will get the same gauge as with Double Sunday.
Oh ... dresses
Unfortunately, my knitting time - like yours too, I suppose - is very limited and often short. Which is why projects like dresses don't make it onto the needles often enough, because: long. Nevertheless, I love looking at the designs and dresses that are more of a tunic length are very tempting!
Anything with a Scandinavian touch is even more interesting for me anyway. I can't help it (I've been waiting in vain for years to be surprised at the border with a naturalization certificate). So of course I have to show you the Sailor Light dress by Anne Ventzel!

Also available as a shirt version

The great thing about the pattern is that it includes a normal shirt version as well as the dress version - winwin! For the sake of clarity, we have created two knitting sets so that nothing gets mixed up with the quantities.
It will be knitted in double yarn with Økologisk Sommeruld from CaMaRose. You work seamlessly from the top down. The highlight of the design: It gives the impression that you are knitting with two colors at the same time, but you only knit with one color at a time - so the project is also something for less advanced knitters. Winwinwin and the dress really isn't that long. 😉
New at Maschenfein: De Rerum Natura
Did I mention that so much has happened at Maschenfein this week? In addition to lots of organizing, there were also new additions to the product portfolio - and I'll tell you what kind!
We have included three yarns from the French brand De Rerum Natura. The founder was once looking for a way to bring knitting even more into harmony with nature. Where does the raw wool come from? How is it dyed? Is the yarn suitable for children's clothing? The result is a small, fine collection of high-quality yarns whose origin and processing is transparent and ecologically valuable.
Sandra is already trying out Cyrano (merino), Gilliatt (also merino) and Antigone (linen). I am sooo excited about her results! I particularly like the pure linen yarn. I'm just so in summer mode that I really want to get some flax on my needles (the knitting season alone ... you know the drill).
We've put together three knitting kits for you to start with. Rest assured: there are more to come! But be sure to take a look at the Zef and Linaceae shirts and the Ballad sweater. Please note: These three patterns are in English.
Yay - no more waiting!
We have already received the first inquiries about when there will be another sales slot for Franziska Klee's knitted accessories. I have to tell you that there won't be any more, because: From now on you can order the high-quality accessories made of natural leather permanently from us.
The process remains the same: you order and then need a little patience. As usual, Franzi and her team in Leipzig produce by hand - with lots of love - and only after we receive your order. Each piece is unique and will accompany you for many, many years. On this page we have compiled all the products for you.

A small, particularly fine event is waiting for you

Photo: ©️ DCM Film
This week, in addition to the aforementioned new additions to the store, there were also some meetings. Because: The next Maschenfein event needs to be prepared!
Since Friday you can get tickets for a very special Knit & Cinema. At AchtBerlin, we're taking you to see The Salt Trail, the film adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestseller of the same name. In this autobiographical work, the author describes the loss of her house and fortune. Together with her husband, she sets off on a month-long hike along the south-west coast of England. Exposed to the adversities of nature and its beauty in equal measure, the two embark on a journey to themselves and find a very different kind of home.
Do you feel like it? Join us for the exclusive movie release on Tuesday, July 15. Together with DCM Film we are organizing the first Knit & Preview in Berlin's largest private cinema.
We meet at 6:30 pm for a relaxed arrival. Afterwards, we'll watch the film together with the lights dimmed slightly. Then there'll be a little time for a cozy get-together and chat over drinks and snacks until around 10 pm. You can get tickets here.

Two more listening tips
I also have two listening tips with me today! This week a new episode of our Maschenfein podcast Nur noch eine Reihe has been released. In it, Louisa and I talk about our summer knit-along. You can find the episode on all the usual podcast platforms (and you can read everything you need to know about the KAL here).
Marisa was also a guest at Businesszyklen. The hosts Elena Budinstein and Justyna Nimmich are dedicated to female founders and stories that inspire courage. Have a listen!
Maschenfein knitting round
Our knitting round is full of beautiful summer knits. So if you need a vacation feeling, you should definitely stop by! The best way to do this is to visit our Instagram profile and then click on the top right icon in the picture grid. This will take you there directly.

Manu is taking part in our summer knit-along and is knitting the Milotti shawl. As with the original, she is working with Pinta from Pascuali. The silky yarn is perfect for warmer weather!
At Silke 's you can see the Sabai Top from Paula_m. This is reliably in the best list on Ravelry in summer - and rightly so! In this case we worked with Perla from Lamana.
I'm afraid I'll have to repack my shopping basket again. My summer project just hasn't been decided yet! So please leave me a comment and help me decide. Have a wonderful weekend with lots of knitting time!

I ❤️ Your Romy - in MINI she would certainly be a 🥰 ... 😉 ... I'm curious if there will be another "MiRomy" ... that would be sooo nice 🫠
LG from the beautiful north of Berlin - Monika
Dear Monika, there is a mini version of the Mother's Day shawl Romy 🙂 https://www.maschenfein.com/produkt/romini/ Best regards! Sophia
My God, how am I supposed to knit all these beautiful things, there aren't enough extra nights
I'm jealous of knitting at the movies, unfortunately it's too far for me.
I want the cardigan too.
But first finish knitting the summer items.
I am just wow. I CAN'T SAY IT ANY OTHER WAY.
Dear Cami, oh - thank you so much 🙂 We are so pleased that you like it so much at and with Maschenfein. I hope you continue to enjoy knitting, reading and browsing! Best regards, Sophia
I've been waiting for it for so long! Antigona, the ingenious yarn from Rerum. I knitted Isabell Kramer's Edie with it years ago. I wear it all the time and it hasn't shown any signs of wear yet! The colors are beautiful! I knitted it in tilleul, which I think is Antigona's most beautiful color.
But now comes my problem: I want to knit "Pimenton" by Claudia Eisenkolb with it, in the colors tilleul, voie lactee, lune, possibly also in graphite, sage.
Unfortunately, apart from tilleul, I can't find these colors with you.
Can you get them for me at rerum or do I have to place the order somewhere else? That would be a shame, I love looking at your blog! Thank you for your great work!
Monika Knecht-Frey
Dear Monika, there are a few more colors to come. I'll see which ones you can expect on Monday and write you an email. Best regards! Sophia
