Valentine's Day is just around the corner. You see hearts and flowers everywhere on all kinds of channels. It's something nice too, of course! So we dug through the archives and found an old tutorial for little crochet hearts by Marisa. They are quick to make and bring joy. We hope you enjoy crocheting them!
The pattern

And this is how it works: First you crochet a "magic ring" with 7 single crochet stitches. A magic HÄH? This short video by yarn manufacturer Krea Deluxe explains how to do it. Incidentally, the Organic Cotton yarn is perfect for the little hearts. But you can also use leftovers from your stash.
So you make a loop at the end of the wool (1), pull the yarn through the large loop (2) and crochet a stitch with it (3&4).
Then crochet 7 solid stitches (5) in the loop and fasten the ring with the end of the wool (6) and close it with a sl stitch.

Now it's time to get started: Crochet 5 double crochets in the next stitch (7), 1 double crochet in each of the following two stitches and then crochet a double crochet, a chain stitch and a double crochet in the following stitch (this is the tip of the heart (8)).
Then continue with 1 double crochet in each of the following two stitches, 5 double crochets in the next stitch and finally a slip stitch in the slip stitch from the beginning of the round. The heart is finished (9). Finally, bring the thread to the back and knot the two open ends at the back.
Watch out, the little hearts are addictive!
If you're like us, then one heart will turn into many, many hearts or a string of pennants. There is definitely love in the air!
Show your finished hearts on Instagram and tag us @maschenfein. We look forward to your pictures!

Dear Marisa,
at first I had a little trouble with the beginning, but then..... but then.... 3 are already finished and I still have more of the red wool left 😉 so there will be some more to come.
Thanks for the pattern and idea, I'll just make some for my stash and can tie them onto gifts or sew them on.... There are certainly many possible uses. They also make a cute little thank you gift.
Kind regards
Beate
